中国婚礼习俗英语作文简短1. 急求一篇关于中国婚礼习俗的英语文章,要100字左右Traditional Chinese weddings are always filled with red things to bring auspicious blessings and respects. And even wedding customs reflect traditions from Chinese philosophy. 中国传统婚礼中总是用红色的东西来表达吉利、祝愿和盛大的意味。

其实婚礼习俗也反映着中国的传统哲学思想。

1. Favoring red comes from worship of the sun 喜爱红色来自太阳崇拜 The Chinese regard the color red as the symbol of happiness, success, luck, faith and growth. They like red very much, which comes from worship of the Sun. In traditional Chinese weddings, there are double Xi characters in red, red scarves, red flowers and the bride wears a red coat. 中国人将红色看做是幸福、胜利、好运、忠实和富强的意味。

他们很喜爱红色,其实是由于对太阳的崇拜。

在传统中国婚礼上,有红色的“囍”字、红色的丝带、红花和新娘的红衣。

2. The wedding ceremony shows harmony between nature and people 婚礼传达出“天人合一”的思想 A marriage is not only a merger of the couple; traditionally, it symbolizes the merger of two families. So the wedding ceremony should reflect the holiness of marriage, drawing the attention of relatives and friends. There is harmony between nature and the people inside.婚姻不只是一对新人的结合,根据传统,婚姻也意味着两个家庭的结合。

针对贴春联的方法拟一个英语作文题目

针对贴春联的方法拟一个英语作文题目全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1An Exploration of Spring Couplet Customs: Finding the Perfect PhrasingAs the chilly winter months give way to the gentle warmth of spring, a beloved tradition takes center stage in many households – the art of crafting and displaying spring couplets. These poetic phrases, often rich with symbolism and auspicious messages, adorn the doorways and gates, ushering in a season of renewal, prosperity, and good fortune. In this essay, I will delve into the intricacies of this age-old practice, examining the methods employed in composing and arranging these couplets, and proposing an English essay title that captures the essence of this cultural phenomenon. The Origins of Spring CoupletsSpring couplets, known as "chunlian" in Chinese, have their roots deeply embedded in the annals of Chinese history. Dating back to the Tang Dynasty, this tradition was initially embraced by the scholarly elite, who would compose intricate verses tocelebrate the arrival of spring and express their hopes for the coming year. Over time, this practice transcended social boundaries, becoming a cherished ritual embraced by households across the nation.Crafting the Perfect PhraseAt the heart of this tradition lies the art of wordsmithing –the delicate dance of selecting just the right words to convey profound meanings and auspicious sentiments. Skilled calligraphers and poets alike would meticulously craft these couplets, ensuring that each character was imbued with significance and resonance. The composition of spring couplets is governed by a set of intricate rules and conventions. Typically, each couplet consists of two vertically written lines, with an equal number of characters in each line. The lines are designed to be complementary, often employing parallel structures, rhyming schemes, or contrasting concepts to create a harmonious whole.Themes and SymbolismThe themes and symbolism woven into these couplets are as diverse as the cultures that embrace them. Some couplets may extol the virtues of filial piety, emphasizing the importance ofhonoring one's ancestors and upholding traditional values. Others might focus on prosperity, invoking imagery of abundant harvests, flourishing businesses, or academic success.Nature's bountiful offerings also serve as a rich source of inspiration, with couplets celebrating the beauty of blossoming flowers, the majesty of soaring birds, or the serenity of flowing streams. These natural motifs are often imbued with deeper metaphorical meanings, symbolizing concepts such as resilience, freedom, or tranquility.Auspicious Phrasing and WordplayOne of the most captivating aspects of spring couplet composition is the incorporation of auspicious phrasing and wordplay. Skilled poets would carefully select characters and phrases that carried positive connotations or auspicious associations, subtly weaving these elements into the couplets' fabric. For instance, the character "fu" (富), meaning "wealth" or "fortune," might be strategically placed within a couplet, conveying the wish for prosperity and abundance. Similarly, the character "xi" (喜), which signifies "happiness" or "joy," could be incorporated to express the desire for a joyous and fulfilling year ahead.Beyond single characters, entire phrases or idioms might be utilized, each carrying its own symbolic weight. The phrase "tian xi di ning" (天喜地宁), for instance, conveys the sentiment of heavenly delight and earthly tranquility, encapsulating the longing for a harmonious and peaceful existence.Displaying the CoupletsOnce the couplets have been meticulously crafted, the next step is to arrange and display them in a manner that befits their significance. Traditionally, these couplets are hung vertically on either side of the main entrance to a home or business, flanking the doorway like sentinels guarding against misfortune. The process of hanging the couplets is often accompanied by rituals and ceremonies, imbuing the act with a sense of reverence and solemnity. In some regions, families may invite a respected elder or scholar to personally inscribe the couplets, lending an air of authority and prestige to the endeavor.Proposed English Essay TitleConsidering the rich tapestry of symbolism, wordplay, and cultural significance woven into the tradition of spring couplets, I propose the following English essay title:"Poetic Portals: Unraveling the Symbolic Threads of Spring Couplet Traditions"This title encapsulates the essence of the spring couplet practice, positioning these poetic phrases as gateways – portals that usher in the season of renewal while carrying the weight of centuries-old traditions and symbolic meanings. The term "unraveling" invites readers to delve deeper, exploring the intricate threads that comprise these couplets, from their auspicious phrasing and wordplay to their cultural significance and ritualistic displays.By framing the essay within the context of "unraveling" and "symbolic threads," the title piques curiosity and beckons readers to embark on a journey of discovery, peeling back the layers of meaning and exploring the rich tapestry that spring couplets represent. In conclusion, the tradition of crafting and displaying spring couplets is a testament to the enduring power of poetry, symbolism, and cultural heritage. These poetic phrases, carefully woven with auspicious words and profound meanings, transcend mere decoration, serving as gateways to a world of renewal, prosperity, and time-honored traditions. As we delve into the intricacies of this practice, we gain a deeper appreciation for theart of wordsmithing and the enduring human desire to imbue the world with meaning, beauty, and hope for a brighter future.篇2Crafting the Perfect Spring Couplets: A Guide to This Cherished Chinese TraditionAs a student deeply immersed in Chinese culture, few traditions fill me with as much excitement and nostalgia as the hanging of spring couplets during the Lunar New Year festivities. These vibrant vertical banners, adorned with auspicious calligraphic messages, hold profound cultural significance, ushering in prosperity, luck, and renewal for the coming year. However, the art of creating and displaying these couplets is a delicate practice steeped in customs that have been passed down through generations. In this essay, I will delve into the multifaceted world of spring couplet crafting, exploring the intricate methods and unwritten rules that govern this beloved tradition. To fully appreciate the nuances of spring couplet creation, one must first understand the historical and cultural context that surrounds this practice. Originating in the Tang Dynasty, the tradition of hanging couplets during the Lunar New Yearcelebrations can be traced back over a millennium. Initially, these banners served as a means for scholars and literati to showcase their calligraphic prowess and poetic flair. However, over time, the practice transcended its scholarly roots and permeated every echelon of society, becoming an integral part of the festivities for households across China. At the heart of this tradition lies the art of calligraphy, a revered skill that demands years of dedicated practice and an unwavering appreciation for the beauty of written characters. The careful selection of auspicious phrases, often drawn from classical literature or philosophical teachings, is a crucial aspect of crafting spring couplets. These phrases, imbued with symbolism and well-wishes, are meticulously chosen to reflect the hopes and aspirations of the household for the coming year. From phrases invoking prosperity and abundance to those representing harmony and longevity, each couplet is a powerful amalgamation of words and meaning. The physical crafting of spring couplets is a ritual in itself, one that requires patience, attention to detail, and a deep respect for the tradition's customs. Traditionally, the couplets are handwritten on delicate red paper or fabric banners, with the characters carefully inked using a traditional brush and ink. Theart of calligraphy is not merely a matter of penmanship; it is a profound expression of one's inner state, where each stroke carries the weight of the calligrapher's emotions and spiritual presence.Once the couplets have been meticulously crafted, the process of hanging them becomes a ceremonious event, often involving the entire family. The positioning and placement of the couplets are governed by a set of unwritten rules that have been passed down through generations. Typically, the couplets are hung on either side of the main entrance, their vertical orientation symbolizing the connection between heaven and earth. However, the specifics of placement can vary based on regional customs and individual household traditions.Beyond the physical act of hanging the couplets, there are numerous rituals and superstitions that surround this practice. In some regions, it is believed that the couplets should be hung on a specific day or during a particular auspicious time frame to ensure maximum luck and prosperity. Others may incorporate ancient feng shui principles, carefully considering the orientation and positioning of the couplets to promote positive energy flow within the household. The tradition of spring couplets is not merely a fleeting event; it is a living embodiment of Chinese culture, intertwined with the fabric of family, community, and shared heritage. For many households, the process of crafting and hanging these couplets is a multi-generational affair, with elders passing down their knowledge and techniques to the younger generations. It is a cherished moment of togetherness, where families come together to honor their roots and embrace the rituals that have transcended the boundaries of time.As a student deeply invested in preserving and celebrating Chinese traditions, I find immense joy and fulfillment in participating in the crafting and hanging of spring couplets. Each stroke of the brush, each carefully chosen phrase, and every moment spent adhering to the intricate customs is a profound connection to my ancestral heritage. It is a reminder of the enduring power of traditions, and the ways in which they bind us to our cultural roots, even in an ever-changing world. In conclusion, the art of spring couplet crafting is a multifaceted and intricate tradition that encapsulates the very essence of Chinese culture. euphemism的来源

euphemism的来源

一、引言委婉语(euphemism)来源于希腊语的euphemisos,词头eu-即good,well;phemism即saying,speech,因此整个字面意思就是讲“好听的话”(speaking with good words),是用漂亮的词语或玲珑的谈吐表达语言,用一种无害的或悦耳的词语替代一种较直接的、冒昧唐突的词,或者说用善意的话语把事实掩盖起来。

与euphemism的汉语解释相比,其英语释义更有助于我们准确把握euphemism一词的涵义。

Euphemism is defined in the New Edition of the Oxford Concise Dictionary(1976) as “Substitution of mild or vague or roundabout expression for harsh or direct one ;expression thus substituted.”Euphemism 可通俗称为comfortable words (安慰词语)。
