这四句诗，很多人听过、读过、背诵过，以为它是一首中国古典诗歌，其实它节选自英国诗歌《一粒沙子》，作者是英国诗人威廉·布莱克。
很多文学大家都翻译过这首诗，比如李叔同、徐志摩、梁宗岱。
其中，最出名的是徐志摩翻译的版本，也是文章开头那四句。
《一粒沙子》的英文原版也很有韵律。

威廉·布莱克（William
Blake）被列为英国文学史最伟大的六位诗人之一（其他五人为乔叟、斯宾塞、莎士比亚、弥尔顿、华兹华斯）。
这首《一粒沙子》节选自他名作《天真的预言Auguries
of
Innocence》，在他去世100年之后，周作人第一次把他介绍到中国，之后徐志摩翻译，那句“一沙一世界，一花一天堂”就成为了我们中国人熟知的名言。
“一沙一世界，一花一天堂”，从每个渺小生命中，都能看到这整个物种的生命力，而我们的生命力，能够“把无限放在掌心，让永恒收藏刹那”。
因为我们有诗歌、哲学、艺术，教育我们的孩子走向真善美，同时孩子们的智慧也让它们发出更耀眼的光芒。
