Ⅰ.阅读理解A(2019·广东模考)We have all been there. In a rush to leave the house we grab our phones ahead out of the door, realizing all too late that the battery is dead because we forgot to plug it into the table cloth. Or perhaps we have not. But this could be in future that scientists hope to explore with electronic sheets that charge our mobile phones, laptops and other equipment by harvesting energy from the world around us.In a step in that direction, scientists at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have created superthin, bendy materials that absorb wireless Internet and other electromagnetic waves in the air and turn them into electricity. The lead researcher, Tomas Palacios, said the breakthrough smoothed the way for energyharvesting covers ran ging from table cloths to giant packing for buildings that catch energy from the environment to power sensors and other electronics.Palacios and his colleagues connected a bendy antenna (天线) to a flexible semiconductor (半导体) layer only three atoms thick. The antenna picks up wifi and other radio frequency signals and turns them into a current. This flows into a special semiconductor, where it is changed into a direct electrical current. Researchers have made energyharvesting “rectennas (整流天线)” before, but existing equipment is made from conventional semiconductors which are inflexible, fragile and practically impossible to make in large sheets. The wifi signals can fill an office with more than 100 microwatts of power that is ripe to be collected by ener gyharvesting equipment. The MIT system has an efficiency (效率) of between 30% and 40%,producing about 40 microwatts when exposed to signals bearing 150 microwatts of power in laboratory tests. “It doesn't sound like much compared with the 60 watts that a c omputer needs, but you can still do a lot with it,” Palacios said. “You can design a wide range of sensors, for environmental monitoring or chemical and biological sensing, which operate at the single microwatt level.”Medical equipment is another potentia l application. Because wifi and similar radiofrequency signals pass through people, energyharvesting covers could be applied to implanted sensors to provide them with enough power to send out health data to an outside receiver.篇章导读:本文是一篇说明文,介绍了一种类似桌布的能量收集罩。

阅读理解A(2015·河北衡水中学高三第二次模拟考试)The last time I saw him was 12 years ago。
Twelve years has passed, and I still remember eating pomegranates(石榴) while his thin hands combed through my hair. To this day,I still remember stories my grandfather used to tell me. As a child living in Korea,my grandfather was my closest friend, the man I spent every day with and depended on for back rides。
We were inseparable from the moment we awoke until I fell asleep in his arms. I ate the food he prepared, and he was my pillow and storyteller。
Little did we know that a day would come when his first granddaughter would leave. My father was to be stationed in the United States and time would blur (使……变模糊) our images of each other。
On the summer of my sixteenth birthday,I would see my grandfather again. On the plane, thoughts of him ran through my mind during all 14 hours of the flight. Would he look the same?Would he be healthy?Did he still have the pictures I drew for him? Most importantly, would he remember me? I was short then and always smiling. He dressed me。

(2020·北京海淀一模)Is there a link between social media and depression? Do social media have a negative impact on your mental health? It’s plicated. In a recent study, the investigators pared social media use and depression between teens. 1 Specifically, for every hour per day that one teen spent on social media more than her peers, she likely had a 0.64point higher depression score.A different study published in 2018 identified five distinct types of social media users. The finding was that “problematic social media use”was one of the main themes for people whose mental health was affected by social media. You can have alcohol in your life without it being a problem,or your alcohol use may bee problematic. 2There’s one important thing to remember about survey research—just because two things happen together,it’s not necessarily true that one causes the other. 3 For all we know,it could be that people who are already more depressed choose to spend more time on social media.4 If you think that we shouldn’t paint social media with one broad brush, you’re on the right track. On the one hand, participants often described social media as a valuable way to cope with stress. On the other hand, cyberbullying via social media was also a mon experience for participants. Some also said that constantly checking their own social media profile was stressful. It’s certainly possible that experiences like cyberbullying, paring yourself to idealized images, and constantly monitoring your profile, are bad for your mood. It’s also true for many that social media offer munity support and positive messages.Given the inconclusive research,it’s safe to say that at least we shouldn’t write off social media altogether. 5 Anyway, you cannot use it as a crutch for coping with other stressors and mental health problems.A.It’s the same with social media.B.Social media can be a doubleedged sword.C.People get more opinionated about the potential problems of social media.D.They found that those who used social media more had higher depression scores.E.They reviewed all existing research and found that there were both benefits and drawbacks.F.The key to benefiting from social media may lie in using it in moderation and stayingsocially connected.G.For example, just because higher social media use cooccurs with higher levels of depression doesn’t mean social media use causes depression.【答案】 1.D 2.A 3.G 4.B 5.F【解析】这是一篇说明文。
高考英语二轮总复习——特色专项训练(全国卷Ⅱ):第1部分 题型重组 第二组 Word版含答案

第二组(建议用时:35分钟)Ⅰ.阅读理解A(2015·济南3月模拟)If you think that running marathons will help you live a long and healthy life, new research may come as a shock.According to a recent scientific study, people who do a very strenuous workout are as likely to die as people who do no exercise at all.Scientists in Denmark have been studying over 1,000 joggers and nonjoggers for 12 years. The death rates from the sample group indicate that people who jog at a moderate pace two or three times a week for less than two and a half hours in total are least likely to die.The best speed to jog at was found to be about 5 miles per hour. The research suggests that people who jog more than three times a week or at higher speeds of over 7 mph die at the same rate asnon-joggers.The scientists think that this is because strenuous exercise causes structural changes to the heart and arteries(动脉).Over time, this can cause serious injuries.Peter Schnohr, a researcher in Copenhagen, said, “If your goal is to decrease risk of death and improve life expectancy, jogging a few times a week at a moderate pace is a good strategy.Anything more is not just unnecessary, and it may be harmful.”The implications of this are that moderate forms of exercise such as t’ai chi, yoga and brisk walking may be better for us than “iron man” events, triathlons and longdistance running and cycling.According to Jacob Louis Marott, another researcher involved in the study, “You don’t actually have to do that much to have a good impact on your health. And perhaps you shouldn’t actually do too much.”1.The underlined word “strenuous”in Paragraph 1 is closest in meaning to“________”.A.hard B.regularC.practical D.flexible2. The author presents some figures in Paragraph 2 to________.A.suggest giving up joggingB.show risks of doing sportsC.provide supportive evidenceD.introduce the research process3.According to the scientists, why is too much exercise harmful?A.It may injure the heart and arteries.B.It can make the body tired out.C.It will bring much pressure.D.It consumes too much energy.4.What can be inferred from the text?A.No exercise at all is the best choice.B.More exercise means a healthier life.C.Marathon runners are least likely to die.D.Proper exercise contributes to good health.BBig Ben,the Queen,a plate of ham and eggs—no,no,no.If you’re looking for a symbol of Britain, only one thing passes the test—the umbrella. Now,I know what you’re thinking—we have rain in China and we have umbrellas too.Certainly,I will never forget the way it rained when I lived in Beijing: The streets became rivers at once and the sky was full of lightning for hours on end.People ran for cover under bin bags, the shops were emptied of their plastic raincoats within seconds and I found myself soaked from head to foot,my poorlychosen skirt and Tshirt turned totally seethrough. This would never have happened in Britain. For one thing, during my year in Beijing,it only really rained about 10 times. But although we never get a Beijingstyle washout in London, the drizzle that does fall is there all the time.Even when the sky is perfectly blue, you can be sure it’s going to cloud over and start drizzling again within the hour. And when it does, there is chaos.Trains stop and buses break down as if this were the first time the local authorities had seen this wet stuff coming out of the clouds. So—as with so many things in the UK—it’s up to ordinary people to sort themselves out.No self-respecting Briton will ever leave home without his or her “brolly”—as the umbrella is known to us.A brolly has hundreds of uses, even on rare rainfree days.A real gentleman of London will use his umbrella as a walking stick.A traditional game of cricket(板球) can be played using an umbrella as a bat(球棒).Nor do you ever have to be afraid of robbers—your umbrella doubles as a defensive weapon. There is no brolly more British than my own.But it’s not from London or Manchester or anywhere in the UK.It was a gift from my Chinese teacher—in Beijing. How fitting that my No.1 symbol of Britishness—like almost everything in Britain nowadays —was made in China.5.The author mentioned her rainy weather experience in Beijing to show that ________.A.many foreigners have embarrassing moments living in BeijingB.the rain in Beijing is usually much heavier than the rain in LondonC.British people are more used to rainy weather than Chinese peopleD.both Beijingers and Londoners have unpleasant experiences with sudden rain6.The underlined word “This”in the third paragraph refers to “________”.A.people getting extremely wet on rainy daysB.sudden rain leading to traffic troublesC.people being wellprepared on rainy daysD.it only raining a dozen times per year7.The tone of the article is ________.A.humorous B.optimisticC.objective D.annoyed8.What is the main idea of the article?A.Beijingstyle rain and Londonstyle drizzles both bring chaos.B.Everything in Britain was made in China.C.Why the umbrella is the best symbol of Britain.D.What British people use a brolly for.Ⅱ.七选五(2015·云南师大附中适应性考试)1.________ However, sometimes resigning is the best way for you to move forward. I stopped at a gas station about 50 miles from Oklahoma City, where I was planning to visit a friend. While I was standing in line at the cash register(收款机), I said hello to an old couple who were also paying for gas.I took off, but had gone only a few miles when black smoke began pouring from the back of my car. I stopped and wondered what I should do. A car pulled up behind me. It was the couple I had spoken to at the gas station. They said they would take me to my friend’s. We chatted on the way into the city, and when I got out of the car, the husband gave me his business card.I wrote him and his wife a thankyou note for helping me. Their note that came with it said that helping me had made their holidays meaningful.Years later, I drove to a meeting in a nearby town in the morning. In the late afternoon I returned to my car and found that I’d left the lights on all day, and the battery was dead. Then I noticed that the Friendly Ford dealership—a shop selling cars—was right next door. I walked over and found two salesmen in the showroom.“Just how friendly is Friendly Ford?”I asked and explained my trouble. They quickly drove a pickup truck to my car and started it.
