To clone or not to clone, is that the question?Advanced technology has already pushed human being to edges, such as the production of weapons of mass destruction, the destruction of Ozone by Freon ,and the application of clone. The heated deabte over whether cloning technique should be used in human reproduc--tion must be considered as a serious issue.Clone, to a certain degree, is beneficial tomankind.Such disease as Parkinsons will possiblly be cured in the future in the hope of further applying ofclone. However, the abuse of this technology will bring human being unthinkable destruction.Since the declaration of the death of Dolly,we are more conscious of the inefficient procedure of clone.Acorrding to "Dolly's false legacy",the incidence of death among fetuses and offspring produced by cloning is much higher than it is through natural reproduction--roughly 10 times as high as normal before birth and 3 times as high after birth. And even you may argue that this technology will be perfected in the future, i don't see there is any point in whole--being cloning. Many people consider this technology a promising one as to bring all human being to a new era in which all human reproduction will be aomplished by cloning. Thus scientists in some countries have already started their great plan to clone human. But let's think, what is the practical value in doing so?You may ___ me that it can bring hope for those couples unable to have children because they might choose to have a copy of one of them rather than aept the gene intrusion from a doner. But imagine,if you have a child owning the same apperance as yours or your husband's, will you aept it without any unfort?Don't you think it is embarrassing?Or if this kind of human reproduction is allowed, terrorists may get hold of it and reproduce lots of "American Presidents".Don't you agree that these presidents might bring the world much more chaoes?Besides these terrible aspects, the cloning of whole--being may destroy the diversity of people of the globe.一辩,二辩Debater Number 1Debater Number 2评委团:judges题目 Debating Competition开头:wele to the debating petition of the issue "题目" we have 6 debaters today, 3 on each side, and they are"名字”now lets begin.开始 Good morning/afternoon/evening ladies and gentleman(or students),contestants and adjudicators(裁判).Today we are debating the topic (报一下辩论题目) On the affirmative side we have (报一下正方参赛者的顺序),and on the negative side we have (反方参赛者的顺序).Both teams have showed great debating ability in today's fierce petition.

Cloning,a topic that has sparked intense debate and ethical considerations, presents a complex array of advantages and disadvantages. Here is a detailed exploration of both sides of the cloning argument.Advantages of Cloning:1.Medical Advancements:Cloning technology can lead to significant medical breakthroughs. It allows for the production of genetically identical tissues and organs, which can be used for transplantation without the risk of rejection. This could potentially save the lives of many patients waiting for organ donations.2.Preservation of Endangered Species:Cloning can be used as a conservation tool to help preserve endangered species by increasing their population. This could prevent the extinction of species that are crucial to the balance of ecosystems.3.Agricultural Benefits:In agriculture, cloning can be used to produce genetically identical plants with desirable traits such as disease resistance or higher yield. This can lead to more efficient food production and potentially address food scarcity issues.4.Scientific Research:Cloning provides a controlled environment for scientific research, allowing scientists to study genetic diseases and conditions without the influence of genetic variation. This can lead to a better understanding of human biology and the development of new treatments.5.Reproductive Options:For individuals or couples who are unable to conceive naturally, cloning could offer a means to have a biological child. This can be particularly beneficial for those who have lost a child and wish to replicate their genetic makeup. Disadvantages of Cloning:1.Ethical Concerns:The primary ethical issue with cloning is the potential for creating life in a manner that some consider to be unnatural. There are concerns about the dignity of human life and the implications of treating individuals as mere genetic copies.2.Health Risks:Cloning has been associated with a higher risk of birth defects and health issues due to the unnatural process of creating a genetic duplicate. The lack of genetic diversity could also lead to unforeseen health problems.3.Identity and Individuality:Cloned individuals may face psychological challenges related to their identity and the knowledge that they are not unique. This could lead toissues with selfesteem and a sense of individuality.4.Social Implications:The introduction of cloned individuals into society could lead to complex social dynamics, including questions about legal rights, social status, and the potential for discrimination.5.Potential for Abuse:There is a risk that cloning technology could be misused for unethical purposes, such as creating a workforce or soldiers with specific traits,or for the replication of individuals for personal gain.6.Economic and Resource Allocation:The resources required for cloning, including scientific expertise and technological infrastructure, could divert funds and attention away from other important areas of research and development. In conclusion, while cloning offers potential benefits in various fields,it also raises significant ethical, health, and social concerns. The debate surrounding cloning is far from resolved, and it is crucial that society continues to engage in thoughtful discussions about the implications of this technology.。

Cloning technology is a controversial topic that has sparked debates worldwide. On one hand, cloning can be used for medical purposes, such as creating organs fortransplant or producing genetically identical animals for research. On the other hand, there are ethical concerns about cloning humans or using cloning for commercial purposes. For example, Dolly the sheep was the first mammal to be cloned from an adult somatic cell. This breakthrough in cloning technology opened up new possibilities in the field of genetics. However, the cloning of Dolly also raised concerns about the welfare of cloned animals and the potential for abuse of this technology. In my opinion, cloning technology has both benefits and risks. It is important to carefully consider the ethicalimplications of cloning and to regulate its use to ensure that it is used responsibly.II.
Cloning Debate

[A] Let’s pretend it’s the year 2025,and you ‘ve just been diagnosed with HIV virus(病毒).No problem .Doctors can simply take out a white blood cell from your body ,produce hundreds more exactly like it ,and rid you of HIV. A cure for HIV? It seem too good to be true. Yet scientists say may be possible with the process of cloning.
[B] Cloning humans may should like a process out of science fiction, but in fact it is a reality. In 1996,a group of scientists in Scotland cloned Dolly the sheep, and recently, a pig was duplicated(复制) in Scotland.
SHOULD WE CLONE HUMANES? 我们该不该克隆人类?[C] Some scientists say it is only a matter of time before humans are cloned. But human cloning makes many people nervous. Is it right to clone human? Most say absolutely not; a few say there are positive benefits. Others fall somewhere in between—they believe that cloning whole people is immoral, but do see advantages of cloning human organs, such as the heart or the lungs.

Clone or Not to Clone: The Debate in HighSchoolIn the fast-paced world of scientific advancements, the topic of cloning has garnered significant attention, sparking debates and discussions across various platforms. High schools are no exception, as students engage in lively discussions on the ethics, morality, and potential consequences of cloning. This debate is not just about science; it's about exploring the fine line between human progress and ethical boundaries.**The Pros of Cloning**Many students argue that cloning has the potential to revolutionize medicine and science. Cloning human cells and organs could lead to groundbreaking treatments for diseases like diabetes, Parkinson's, and heart disease. Imagine being able to create a perfect match for a transplant without the need for immunosuppressive drugs or the risk of rejection. This could save thousands of lives and improve the quality of life for millions. Moreover, cloning could be a powerful tool in conservation efforts. Endangered species could be saved from extinction by cloning their genes and reproducing them in controlled environments. This could help maintain biodiversity and preserve the natural world for future generations.**The Cons of Cloning**However, others argue that cloning raises serious ethical and moral concerns. Cloning humans, for instance, could lead to a slippery slope where we start manipulating human genetics for non-therapeutic reasons, such as enhancing athletic ability or intellectual capacity. This could lead to a divide between "haves" and "have-nots" in society, where only the wealthy can afford to clone themselves or their children.Furthermore, cloning could have unintended consequences on society. If cloning becomes widespread, it could lead to a decrease in genetic diversity, making humanity more vulnerable to diseases and other threats. Additionally, the psychological impact of cloning on individuals and families needs to be carefully considered. Would cloned individualsbe treated as equals in society? Would they have the same rights and opportunities as their "original" counterparts? **The Way Forward**In conclusion, the debate on cloning is complex and multifaceted, involving ethical, moral, and scientific considerations. While cloning has the potential to bring remarkable benefits to medicine and conservation, it also raises concerns that need to be carefully addressed. As a society, we must strike a balance between harnessing the power of science and preserving our ethical values. As high school students, we have a responsibility to engage in this debate and form our own opinions. We should strive to understand both sides of the argument and consider the long-term consequences of our decisions. By doing so, we can contribute to a more informed and responsible approach to cloning and other emerging technologies.**克隆还是不克隆:高中辩论**在科技飞速发展的世界中,克隆技术已经引起了广泛关注,并在各种平台上引发了激烈的辩论和讨论。

Did you ever imagine having a child that is the exact replica of you? Did you ever imagine of having the cure for heart disease or cancer? Well, these fantasies are not far from reach. The way we could reach these fantasies is through a process called cloning. Cloning is the replication of an exact genetic copy of an organism by use of a somatic tissue (or cell) from the donor organism. Cloning can be used in humans, human organs, or even animals. There are many advantages and disadvantages of cloning.A benefit of cloning is cloning human organs or body parts. If a person has a dysfunctional liver orheart then they could get it cloned and get a brand new one. Theseare some of the benefits of cloning.Cloning can bring many benefits to the human, such as rejuvenation, helpful for Defective genes, Liver failure, Kidney failure and Leukemia. These diseaseare very different to cure, if we use the cloning technology we can change the Gene’s DNA order, so we can save lots of people.反方:One disadvantage is whether if cloning is ethical. Cloning will bring up a great controversy on whether ifcloning is the “right” thing to do or not. This controversy is currently going on right now and will be even a greater controversy if the government allows cloning. Many people think that nature should just take its course. Other people think that cloning will be a very good thing to society.Another disadvantage of cloning is that it has not been perfected yet. The cloning of the sheep Dolly had 276 failures before successfully cloning a sheep. With these kinds of figures we should not even go near trying to demonstrate cloning on humans. One more disadvantage of cloning can be studied through the works of Aldous Huxley in his book the “Brave New World.” Huxley illustrates the future with people having “total loss of individuality, creativity, and freedom. ” Thisis because if humans are then there would be a lot of the same people in the future. An example would be if a person is cloned and was cloned 3 times. This would cause trouble because none of these clones will have anything unique about themselves. The future of cloning is very questionable. As of now cloning is banned in the United States. The government is not supporting the experimenting of cloning through any means.总结:Someone is going to do it, legal or illegal. But it seems only logical to do it under strict government supervision with the best trained professionals rather than letting some maniacal scientist do it and let his clone run loose. To reduce the risk of having more disadvantages of Cloning, human cloning should not be prohibited simplybecause it does not insure immediate benefits, but it should be experimented with for potential future use. In conclusion, cloning is a study in biotechnology that has unlimited possibilities. There are benefits such as cures for diseases and disadvantages such as not perfecting the technique of cloning. Despite this fact, cloning will be an ongoing process and will be tested. Hopefully cloning will not be a downfall to human history but rather a stepcloser to a better society.。
