Step 1 Warming up & Revision
1. Greet the class.
2.Ask and answer.
What’s in the classroom? How many lights are there in the
classroom?
Is there a library in your school?
Are there any computers in your school?
Are there any tall trees in your school?
Was there a library in your school two years ago?

3. Let Ss get familiar with there is/are, there was/were at the
beginning of the class, Ss know the importance of the unit. It’s
great help for Ss to focus on the studying.
4. According to the key sentences of there is/are… Review the
2 questions about What[s in/on…? Then practice this structures.
Step 2 Presentation & Practice
1. Show them the PPT about how to use there be.
2. Read the sentences and find the rules of there be.
Then write down the sentence.
3. Change the sentences into the past tense. Read the sentence,
watch and think.
4. Know what the past time is and how to use it in there be.
5. Present the sentence and get more time of the past tense.

6. Use the pictures to look for the difference between two months
ago and now.
7. Practice the sentences with there was/were (no) and there is…
8. Observe how to use there wasn’t/weren’t…
9. Show the Ss the words of the school. Lead to read the words
dining hall,gym,grass. Know more places of the school.
10. Present the sentence and ask them to read and say.
11. Find out the differences. Let them get the rules to change the
simple present tense verbs into the simple past tense.
12. Lead the Ss to read the words and dialogue from the book.
Then try to recite it.
13. Work in pairs. To practice the phrases and sentences in pairs.
Step 3 Consolidation & Extension
1. Talk about the life of Tang dynasty in group.
2. Find the mistakes.Ask the Ss to find out the mistakes and try
to describe it out according to the picture on Page 35.
3. Do exercises.
Fill in the words according to the first letter.
Step 4 Summary & Homework
1. Summarize the key points in this lesson.

该教师这堂课，思路清晰，目标明确，在充分考虑到学生的学龄特点后，设计了多个活动，激发学生的思维能力，学生听说读写能力得到良好的锻炼的同时，语言能力得到了较好的提高。该教师的这堂课充分利用了“在学中用，在用中学，学以致用”的原则，下面我从五个方面浅谈一下这堂课的亮点。
一、目标明确，环节紧凑
该教师这节课语言目标是现在式和过去式的对比，通过Mike一家过去和现在对比的学习，了解和掌握过去式和现在式的表达，从而能够联系实际，谈谈自己的过去和现在。该教师通过层层递进式的问题和丰富多彩的活动，让学生们全面了解课文内容，把握课文重点的同时，语言能力得到了全面的提升。该教师紧扣then 和now，设计了多个环节，有小组活动，有结对活动，有师生互动，有生生互动，在丰富多彩的活动中，学生在收获知识的同时，也培养了综合运用语言的能力。
二、激趣导入，紧扣主题
该教师在导入阶段，设计了一个与教师有关的活动，让学生去说说自己的老师，然后呈现自己的一张照片，让学生猜猜这是谁。当学生们猜出这是教师30年前的照片时，在通过一段视频欣赏，让学生就视频内容，判断与老师相关的内容的对错。这个环节，令我印象深刻。一堂课的成功与否，在于开头是否能够成功吸引学生的注意力。该教师在导入环节，设置的这个活动，与学生的生活紧密相关，因为是说自己的老师，所以学生有话可说，然后通过一些问题的呈现，让学生判断对错，一方面是考察学生视频观看的认真度以及对于信息提取的敏感度，另一方面是培养学生的口语表达能力。又因为是与自己的教师有关，所以学生们很感兴趣，都积极参与到这个活动中来。同时，这个导入环节又与本课的主题有关，在谈论该教师的过去和现在的同时，很自然的引入到新授课的学习。
三、开放性问题，激活学生思维
该教师在这节课设计了5个开放性问题，在讲解Mike的现在和过去的时候，问学生“what can he do now?”;在分析Grandpa的过去和现在的时候，问学生“what’s the differences between telephone and

本课内容选自第八册第四单元B部分Read and write,为此单元第五课时,是一节典型的读写课。单元话题围绕Then and now对比展开,学习有关人物今昔变化的语句。本课主要围绕Wu Yifan有趣的梦的故事进行系列读写训练,并感受故事阅读的快乐。
六年级学生已具备一定的词汇和语言基础,具有较强的模仿能力,能够通过听或读独立搜索语篇中的关键信息,且具备较为完整的英语语言组织能力,能够在教师指导下模仿篇章进行写作。学生通过六下第二、第三单元的学习,已对过去时的使用有初步的了解,能够在固定语境下使用过去时描述事件。对有趣的情境和活泼的课堂活动有较强积极性。
