the first day: 第一天，first是序数词，前面一般用定冠词the。
即the+序数词，表示“第几”。
the new term: 新学期。
如：It’s the first lesson of the new term. 这是新学期的第一堂课。
2. All the students are back at school. 所有学生都回校了。
All the students: 所有学生、全体学生。
一般情况下all the+复数名词，意思是“所有……”。
如：All the teachers are in the office. 所有老师都在办公室里。
All the apples in the box are red. 盒子里的所有苹果都是红色的。
3. They are happy to see each other again. 彼此又见面了，很开心。
1）be happy to+动词原形，意思是“高兴做某事”（be动词指am, is, are）。
如：We’re happy to go to school. 我们高兴地去上学。
He’s happy to learn English. 他高兴地学英语。
2）each other的意思是“彼此，相互”。
如：We should help each other. 我们应该互相帮助。
4. There’s a new building. 有座新楼房。
1There’s a/an+名词单数+表示地点的词或词组，意思是“在……有一（个）……”。
如：There is 后面也可以跟不可数名词。
如：There is some tea in the cup. 杯子里有些茶。
5. There are a lot of rooms in it. 里面有许多教室。
There are+可数名词复数+表示地点的词或词组，意思是“在……有……”。
如：There are many books in the bookcase. 书柜里有许多书。
alot of: 许多，在本句中可用lots of, many替换，其后面都可跟名词复数。
如：a lot of watches 许多手表；lots of cars 许多小汽车；many boys 许多男孩6. —How many classrooms are there? 有多少教室？—There are twenty-four. 有24间。
how many意思是“多少”，后面跟可数名词的复数形式，用来询问数量，即how many+复数名词+are there+其他，意思是“（某地/某时）有多少……？”答句常用：There be(are, is) +数词表示。
如：—How many students are there in the classroom? 教室里有多少学生？—There are five. 有5个。
—How many bikes are there near the house? 房子附近有多少自行车？—There is one. 有一辆。
7. Are there any reading rooms in the building? 大楼里有阅览室吗？Is there a table tennis room? 有乒乓室吗？Are there……/Is there……是There are/There is……句型的疑问句形式，由此我们可知：There be句型的一般疑问句式是将be提到句首，首字母变成大写，句末改为问号。
另外，需要注意的是，肯定句中的some要改为any。
如：There is a dog in the basket. →Is there a dog in the basket?There are some orange on the table? →Are there any oranges on the table?8. Let’s go and have a look. 让我们去看一看吧。
have a look 看一看，当要看具体的物品时，则要在后面加at，即have a look at+表示物品的名词。
如：Can I have a look at the new TV? 我能看一看这台新电视机吗？[课堂练习]一、选出划线部分读音与其余三个不同的单词。
