词条 alone 用法 意为“独自的（地），单独的（地）”， 侧重于单独存在，指主观上就自己独自一 人，无伙伴，作形容词时只做表语或后置 定语。 意为“独自的、孤独的、寂寞的”，指因 缺少同伴或朋友而感到悲伤，强调内心的 寂寞与孤单，有浓厚的感情色彩，用作定 语或表语。
2、puppy 与dog 的不同 【原文】See this puppy ? His name is Rocket. Puppy 意为“小狗、幼犬”，长大以后叫dog 。
英语中一些表示动物的单词，小时候与长大名称 不同
小时候的名称 puppy小狗，幼犬 chick 小鸡 kitty 小猫 bunny 小兔子 piggy 小猪 长大后的名称 dog 狗 cock 公鸡 hen 母鸡 cat 猫 rabbit 兔子 pig 猪
take care of 与look after都表示照顾、照料， 常常可以互相替换。但take care of 还有 “保护、保管”的意思，而look after没有。
