课文生词量较大,段落较多,主题句分布较为明显,语法较难,总体来看,难度较大。

二、教学目标(一)语言知识目标:1.使学生了解disater, hurricane 等词汇,了解自然灾难状况。

2.使学生掌握词汇:experience, cause, occur, strike, etc.语言技能目标:1.使学生学会克服生词障碍,通过略读,寻找文章的主题句,理清文章的总体框架与脉络;通过查读,捕捉文章的重要细节,理解作者的写作意图。

2.使学生学会运用各种猜词技巧,猜测部分生词在具体语言环境中的含义。

3.使学生通过小组活动,提高共同合作的能力。

因此我采用任务型教学方式,每一部分都设有一定的任务,引导学生自主或者合作完成。

阅读活动由整体入手,由易到难,步步推进,层层深入。

整个教学活动以教材为载体,以学生为中心,学生参与活动贯穿始终,学生既有个人活动,又有小组活动和班级活动。

并由一段视频导入本节课第一部分。

StepII. Reading1.仔细阅读第一部分,并完成任务1。

2.分析第一部分的体裁和写作特点,使学生掌握描写事物时使用一般现在是,举例时使用一般过去时。

3.分析文中的两个句子。

用v-ing表示结果,并将其改为非限制性定语从句。

进而进行课堂巩固练习。

4.导入课文第二部分,通过标题推测第二部分的体裁以及写作特点,并完成任务4——语法填空。

5.听第三部分课文,完成任务5——排序。

并通过观察句子分析第三部分的体裁以及写作特点——讲故事,记叙文用一般过去时。

6.学生讨论并在平板上画出洋流的路径以及Coghlan重回加拿大的路径。
