Unit1 Individuality and privacyEveryone has his own Individuality and privacy,Nowadays, individuality has become a popular term with young people. But what is individuality? It is being different from others not only in outside appearance, but also in inner behavior. On the other hand, privacy is important. Everyone need privacy like you can’t just break into some random people’s house any time.It is comparatively easy for people to be individual from outside. Kinds of clothes ,various adornments(装饰品）, colorful dyed（染）hair. The fashion is changing everyday and it is hard to find two men dressed identically（相同）. However, to behave individuality is another story. However, happiness is everywhere in our life. For example, family reunion, learning progress, to see friends. This is one of the most happy thing in my life .HelpTherefore, as long as you carefully discovered, concerned about family and friends, we will be able to feel the joy of living.Unit3My definition of HappinessIn this long journey we call "life", everybody is in pursuit of happiness and has their own interpretation（解释）of happiness. An inspiring idea is that happiness is not the absence of problems（不是没有问题）, but the ability to deal with them, which reveals the very truth about happiness. It can not be achieved through waiting, but only through striving.There is no way that life always progresses（进展）as we wish. Problems may occur and we find ourselves in trouble, but it doesn't mean we are deprived（剥夺）of happiness. There are numerous（众多）examples for us to follow: disabled people overcoming obstacles, patients fighting against disease, poverty-stricken people（贫困人群）achieving their dreams -- all these inspiring heroes. Their lives are definitely not problem-free（他们的生活绝对不是问题）, but they have found happiness by courageously（勇敢）solving problems.Therefore, it is essential to develop the ability to deal with problems. So celebrities(名声）can't remain idle otherwise they wouldbe permanently expelled from （开除）the wider circle of public favor.Unit5T he genius of English英语特征Standard English is the language that used in formal occa sions(场合), such as in official(官方）documents（文件)、laws、th e announcement(声明) and statement issued(发布) by the sch ool and etc. Nonstandard English mainly refers to the private c onversations, personal epistolary contacts(个人书信往来),daily spo ken language,and nowadays it is mainly used in public communi cation such as newspapers、magazines、advertising、television、p opular books and so on. Although there is no clear boundary (边界）or absolute difference between the Standard English a nd the Nonstandard English, that does not deny there is no diff erence between them（不否认他们之间没有区别）.Standard English general said on formal occasions, for formal occasions in general is a leader or representative of an organization and the community, so you can show respect for each other. Non-standard English is used in more casual（非正式的）occasions, such as friends and family together, so that you can display close friends（所以你可以展示亲密的朋友）.In my opinion, the features of English is that English grow without a formal grammar. We can speak English in our way when we communicate with others. Therefore, the nature of the English is freedom.Unit8 How to improve the translation abilityAs we know, the ability of translation in learning English is very important. If you want to learn English well, you must improve your translation ability. Translation is a tool in internat ional communication, and is also one of the tasks for English te aching.When you translate the article you should follow some diffe rent ways but the most important one is that you should transl ate the article into other language but should express the sole o f article that is the most important. I got some ideas about ho w to improve your translation ability and some short points whi ch I have.First, accumulation(积累) of vocabulary and idioms（习语）i s the base of translation. If you can't know the rich vocabulary and idioms when you are reading the articles, you will feel diffic ult. Second, the patterns（模式）of sentences are of great impor tant. It can help you understand what he/she are talking about. It is one way of communication. To learn different usage（用法）of sentence patterns（模式）will benefit your communication skill. All of the above are two important parts of improving tra nslation.U nit9 my view on ambitionAmbition is the decision one makes and the resolution with which he carries out that decision（野心是一个决定，他决定了他决定的决心）. It provides us with the required driving force to accomplish any undertakings（事业）in our life. Just as Joseph Epstein, a famous American writer put it, “And as we decide and choose, so are our lives formed.” （当我们决定和选择时，我们的生活也就形成了）Indeed, once we make up our minds to choose to do something, then our life becomes meaningful and specifically orientated.（具体定位）Influential（影响）as it is upon us, however, ambition must be channeled in the right direction（野心必须在正确的方向引导）. If wrongly directed, one’s ambition may bring havoc（大破坏）on him and others. Hitler, whose ambition was to conquer Europe by whatever evil means, finally turned him into a demon（魔鬼）.
