2019届中考英语阅读理解模拟5篇(名师精讲选试题+实战练习,建议下载练习)一、阅读理解。
AEmpathy lets us feel another person’s pain and drives us to help. Do any other animals feel empathy? Scientists recently found that rats(老鼠) do, too. Most people don’t like rats. In many people’s eye s, rats are only bad. But Jean Decety and his partners at the University of Chicago did an experiment. It showed that rats are kind, warm-hearted animals. They can feel each other’s pain.Scientists placed pairs of rats in plastic cages(笼子) for two weeks. During this time they got to know each other. Then they put one of the rats from each pair into a small container(容器) in the cages. The small container had a door. It was so designed as to fall to the side when the free rat touched it. Many of the trapped(困住的) rats squeaked(吱吱叫) to show their discomfort. The other rats of the pairs could see their suffering friends clearly. In most pairs, the free rats would become very worried about their friends. They kept trying to save their friends again and again throughout the month. Scientists put the rats’ favorite chocolate in the cages, but the rats didn’t eat it until they had saved their friends successfully. Scientists also found that female rats seemed to act more empathetic than male rats.“The results are the first to show that rats take action in response to another’s trouble,” Decety said. “Monkeys and chimpanzees have similar behavior. But unlike those animals, rats can be ready used in laboratory studies. They will help us to learn which parts of the brain lead to empathy and helping behavior and whether empathy is natural.”1. A person with empathy is often _____.A. kind-heartedB. cleverC. activeD. strong2. What does the underline word mean in Chinese?A.休息的B.睡着的C.死亡的D.受苦的3. All you need is a3-D printer! The possibilities of 3-D printing seem endless. All the user has to do is to designan object on the computer and choose a material to print in. The printers print in hundreds of different materials including glass, sugar and even skin! When the user presses “print”, the 3-D printer spreads the material layer(层) by layer and like magic the object is produced. The first 3-D printer was invented in 1986 by an American, Charles Hull. But 3-D printing has only become cheap enough recently for most people to use. Designers now use 3-D printing to create unusual things. The Dutch artist Dirk Vander Kooj prints furniture made from old fridges. And doctors have used 3-D printing to print human body parts! The Telegraph reported in February that scientists from Cornell Medical College even printed a man-made ear.But like a lot of new technologies, if 3-D printing gets into the wrong hands, it can bedangerous. In 2011 a group of four men in the US used 3-D printing to produce ATM skimmers (提款机盗刷器). These were placed on an ATM and stole over $400,000 from users of the ATM. It is terrible to think that criminals like them might one day use a 3-D printer to print a gun.But for better or for worse, 3-D printing has been put into u se. In a few years, you’ll probably be wondering how you could ever live without your 3-D printer!()1. _____ invented the first 3-D printer.A. Charles HullB. Dirk Vander KoojC. A doctor called CornellD. When I look back on my career, I realize the road to becoming a CEO isn't a straight, clear path. In fact, no two paths are the same. But whether you want to be a boss one day or not, there's a lot to learn from how leaders rise to the top of successful companies. As this series of stories shows, the paths to becoming a CEO may be different, but the people in that position(位置) share the qualities of commitment(义务), work ethic(道德)and a strong desire for building something new. And every CEO take risks along the way—putting your life savings on the line to start a software company or leaving a big business to be one of the first employees at a startup.I grew up in Minnesota, and learned how to be an entrepreneur(企业家)from my father, who has run a small business for almost 30 years. I went to Georgetown University and tried a lot of business activities in college with success. And I always had a dream job pattern(模式): to walk to work, work for myself and build something for consumers(顾客).I'm only 29, so it's been a quick ride to CEO. Out of college, I worked for AOL as a product manager, then moved to Revolution Health and ran the consumerproduct team. In mid-2007 I left Revolution Health and started LivingSocial with several other workmates, where I became a CEO.Career advice: Don't figure out where you want to work, or even what industry you'd like to work at. Figure out what makes you do so. What gives you a really big rush? Answer why you like things, not what you like doing. . . and then apply it to your work life. Also, just because you're graduating, don't stop learning. Read more books than you did in college. If you do, and they're not, you're really well-positioned to succeed in whatever you do.1. 中考备考英语阅读理解模拟题及答案:Beauty sleep

中考备考英语阅读理解模拟题及答案:Beauty sleep Beauty sleep is a real thing, researches have shown that people who have enough sleep look more attractive (有魅力的) to others.A few bad nights is enough to make a person look “especially” more ugly, their sleep experiments show. The researchers asked 25 university students to join in their sleep experiment. They were asked to get a good night’s sleep for two nights.A week later, they were asked to sleep for only four hours every night for two nights in a row.The researchers took make-up free (素颜) photos of the volunteers after both the good and the bad sleep.Next, they asked 122 strangers to have a look at the photos and judge (评价) them on attractiveness, health, and sleepiness, as well as asking them: “How much would you like to make friends with this person in the picture?”The strangers were good at judging if the person they were looking at was tired, and, if they were sleepy, their attractiveness score was low.The strangers also said they wouldn’t want to socialize w ith the tired students. For example, the information for weather forecasts is sent by satellite. Some satellites havecameras which take photographs of the Earth to show how clouds are moving. Satellites are also used to connect our international phone calls.Computer connections of the World Wide Web and Internet also use satellites. Many of our TV programs come to US through satellites. Airplane pilots also sometimes use a satellite to help them find their exact location. We use satellites to send television pictures from one part of the world to another. They are usually 35,880 kilometers above the equator. Sometimes we can see a satellite in the sky and it seems to stay in the same place. This is because it is moving around the world at 11,000 kilometers an hour—exactly the same speed that the earth rotates. A satellite must orbit the Earth with its antennae facing the earth. Sometimes, it moves away from its orbit,So there are little rockets on it which are used to put the satellite back in the right position. This usually happens about every five or six days.Space is not empty! Every week, more and more satellites are sent into space to orbit the Earth. A satellite usually works for about 10-12 years. Satellites which are broken are sometimes repaired by astronauts or sometimes brought back to Earth to be repaired. Often, very old or broken satellites are left in space to orbit the Earth for a very long time. This is very serious because some satellites use nuclear power and they can crash into each other.1.Which of the following is NOT done by satellites according to the passage?A. In order to send television pictures.4.What does the underlined word “This”in the 3rd paragraph refer to?A. A satellite.B.A little rocket.C. A satellite seems to stay in the same place in the sky.D. But in the future, most things in your home may be connected, as the so-called "Internet of things" is developing. The Internet of things may be coming sooner than you think. It is reported that during his speech earlier this year, Samsung CEO(首席执行官) BK Yoon spent a lot of time talking about the Internet of things. He said that five years from now, every Samsung product will be part of the Internet of things, whether it's a washing machine or a vacuum cleaner(吸尘器).So, how do household(家用) objects that are part of Internet of things work? Well, think of a usual chair. When connected to the Internet, the chair warms up when it knows that the user has just walked into the room and is feeling cold.An Internet-connected camera, like a smart-home camera, could help people feel safer in their homes. It can recognize(识别) people's faces, and even can see when someone passes by in the dark. Then it can send you a message on your smartphone to let you know who's there. If the person is someone you don't know, it can tell you that, too.But according to MIT Technology Review, whether companies are connecting dog food bowls or security(安全) systems to the Internet, there may be problems. For example, many early connected-home devices(装置) don't have much built-in security, which means they could be hacked(被黑客攻击). In addition, it could be difficult to get these devices to work together because they are made by different companies. To fight this, many companies have joined the Open Interconnect Consortium, which had 45 members by late 2014.So, picture this: you walk in through the front door of your home. 2019年中考英语阅读理解及答案(名师精选试题,值得下载打印训练)(限时:30分钟)AWhen we can see well, we don’t think about our eyes very often. It is only when we can not see perfectly that we come to see how important our eyes are.People who are nearsighted can only see things that are very close to their eyes. Many people who do a lot of close work, such as writing, reading and sewing, become nearsighted. Then they have to wear glasses in order to see distant things clearly.People who are farsighted suffer from just the opposite problem. They can see things that are far away, but they have difficulty reading a book unless they hold it at arm’s length. If they want to do much reading, they must get glasses, too.Other people do not see clearly because their eyes are not exactly the right shape. This, too, can be corrected by glasses. Some people’s eyes become cloudy because of cataracts(白内障). Long ago these people often became blind. Now, however, it is possible to operate on the cataracts and remove them. When night falls, colures become fainter to the eyes and finally disappear. After your eyes have grown used to the dark, you can see better if you use the sides of your eyes rather than the centers. Sometimes, after dark, you can see a small thing to one side of you, which seems to disappear if you turn your head in its direction. This is because when you turn your head, you are looking at the thing too directly. Men on guard duty sometimes think they see something moving to one side of them. When they turn to look straight at it, they can’t see it any more, and they believe they were mistaken. However, this mistake happens because the center of the eye, which is very sensitive in daylight, is not as sensitive as the sides of the eye after dark.1. These dreams can be very big, such as winning the Nobel Prize; they can also be small, such as becoming one of the best students in your class.Once you find a dream, what do you do with it? Do you ever try to make your dream real?Andrew Matthews, an Australian writer, tells us that making your dreams real is life’s biggest challenge. You may think you’re not very good at some school subjects, or that it’s impossible for you to become a writer. Those kinds of ideas stop you from realizing your dream. In fact, everyone can realize his dream. The first thing you must do is to remember what your dream is. Don’t let it leave your heart. 2019年中考英语阅读理解专项训练及答案:Beauty sleep
2019年中考英语阅读理解专项训练及答案:Beauty sleep各位读友大家好,此文档由网络收集而来,欢迎您下载,谢谢Beauty sleep is a real thing, researches have shown that people who have enough sleep look more attractive to others.A few bad nights is enough to make a person look “especially” more u gly, their sleep experiments show. The researchers asked 25 university students to join in their sleep experiment. They were asked to get a good night’s sleep for two nights.A week later, they were asked to sleep for only four hours every night for two nights in a row.The researchers took make-up freephotos of the volunteers after both the good and the bad sleep.Next, they asked 122 strangers to have a look at the photos and judge them on attractiveness, health, and sleepiness, as well as asking them: “How much would you like to make friends with this person in the picture?”The strangers were good at judging if the person they were looking at was tired, and, if they were sleepy, their attractiveness score was low.The strangers also said they wouldn’t want to socialize with the tired students. The researchers say this is natural for people. An unhealthy-looking face makes people run away. In other words, people don’t want to hang around with people who might be ill.Dr. Brewer, an expert at the University of Liverpool said “Judgement of attractiveness is often unconscious , hutwe all do it, and we are able to judge on even something small like whether someone looks tired or unhealthy. This study is a good reminder of how important sleep is to us.”35. When did the researchers take make-up free photos?A. After two nights good sleep.B. After two nights bad sleep.C. Passage1(2019中考教育类选练)How to Be a Better StudentMaybe you are a common student. You probably think you will never be a top student. This is not necessary so, however. Anyone can become a better student if he or she wants to. Here's how:Plan your time carefully. When you plan your week, you should make a list of things that you have to do. After making this list, you should make a schedule of your time. First set your time for eating, sleeping, dressing, etc. Then decide a good, regular time for studying. Don't forget to set aside enough time for entertainment. A weekly schedule may not solve all your problems, but it will force you to realize what is happening to your time.Find a good place to study. Look around the house for a good study area. Keep this space, which may be a desk or simply a corner of your room, free of everything but study materials. No games, radios, or television! When you sit down to study, concentrate on the subject.Make good use of your time in class. Take advantage of class time tolisten to everything the teachers say. Really listening in class means less work later. Taking notes will help you remember what the teacher says.Study regularly. When you get home from school, go over your notes, review the important points that your teacher is going to discuss the next day, read that material. This will help you understand the next class. If you do these things regularly, the material will become more meaningful, and you will remember it longer.Develop a good attitude about tests. The purpose of a test is to show what you have learned about a subject. They help you remember your new knowledge. Sending information for weather forecast.B. Taking photographs of the Earth.C. Sending TV pictures.D. Providing food for airplane pilots.2.What’s the speed the earth rotates at?A.35,880 kilometers per hour.B.335,880 kilometers per hour.C.11,000 kilometers per hour.D.110,000 kilometers per hour3.Why does the satellite move around the world at the same speed as the Earth rotates?A. The temperature changes to make you feel comfortable after a long day at school. Your favorite music starts playing for you. Do you think that this would be a good thing? 2019年中考备考英语阅读理解模拟题及答案:Beauty sleep
Beauty sleep is a real thing, researches have shown that people who have enough sleep look more attractive (有魅力的) to others.
A few bad nights is enough to make a person look "especially" more ugly, their sleep experiments show.
The researchers asked 25 university students to join in their sleep experiment. They were asked to get a good night's sleep for two nights.
A week later, they were asked to sleep for only four hours every night for two nights in a row.
The researchers took make-up free (素颜) photos of the volunteers after both the good and the bad sleep.
Next, they asked 122 strangers to have a look at the photos and judge (评价) them on attractiveness, health, and sleepiness, as well as asking them: "How much would you like to make friends with this person in the picture?"
The strangers were good at judging if the person they were looking at was tired, and, if they were sleepy, their attractiveness score was low.
The strangers also said they wouldn't want to socialize with the tired students. The researchers say this is natural for people. An unhealthy-looking face makes people run away. In other words, people don't want to hang around with people who might be ill.
Dr. Brewer, an expert at the University of Liverpool said "Judgement of attractiveness is often unconscious (无意识的), hut we all do it, and we are able to judge on even something small like whether someone looks tired or unhealthy. This study is a good reminder of how important sleep is to us."
