It is an honor to be here with all of you today at the World Expo in Shanghai. This is an incredible opportunity for us to showcase the economic growth and development of the Philippines. We are proud of what we have achieved and we want to share our story with the world.
Over the past few years, the Philippines has seen unprecedented growth and progress. We have become one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia, with a GDP growth rate of 7.2% in 2013. This growth has been fueled by a number of factors, including our strong export-oriented industries, an expanding services sector, and a vibrant tourism industry.
One of the key drivers of this growth has been our focus on attracting foreign investment. We have implemented a number of reforms to make it easier for businesses to invest in the Philippines, including improving our business climate by cutting red tape, reducing corruption, and ensuring policy stability. In addition, we have invested heavily in our
infrastructure, including airports, seaports, and roads,
which has helped to further attract foreign direct investment to our country.
Our focus on infrastructure development has also helped
to boost our tourism industry, which is now one of our
fastest-growing sectors. We have seen a dramatic increase in the number of visitors to our country over the past few years, with over 7.1 million foreign tourists visiting in 2018. This has had a significant impact on our economy, creating jobs
and generating revenue for the country.

the country.
