珠江包括东江、西江、北江及其支流，流经过云南、贵州、广西、江西、湖南、广东六省。

医院大门的东南面是爱群大厦，又名爱群大酒店，是香港爱群人寿保险公司投资兴建得名，酒店由旧楼、新楼和旋转餐厅组成，旧楼建于1937年，高15层64米，是当时广州最高的建筑物。
该酒店承办了第一至十届中国出口商品交易会的开、闭幕式酒会。
省码头的北面，原是“省总工会大楼”，它建于20世纪30年头，初建是叫广州永安堂大厦，是虎标万金油总批发处，大楼高6层24米，中心的钟塔设有四面都可以看时间的大钟，建筑造型简洁，具有现代风格，现为广州少年图书中心。

但珠江又有广义和狭义之分，广义的珠江是指西江、北江、东江、珠江三角洲诸河的总称，其干流西江发源于云南省东部的沾益县马雄山，流经云南、贵州、广西、广东等，在广东三水与北江汇合，再从珠江三角洲的8个入海口流入南海。
狭义的珠江是指从广州市区北面的石门到东面的黄埔港，这一段流经广州市区的河道全长70公里，在广州所说的珠江，主要说的就是这段流经市区的珠江。
自宋代至今历代的“羊城八景”都少不了珠江的景致，与广州的市肺：白云山，合称为云山珠水，一直被称为广州最具代表性的自然景观。

我们乘船的码头叫天字码头，天字码头，俗称“广州第一码头”，明清时期，这码头只供官员使用，民船不得在此停泊，但凡官员从水路到广州或离开广州，都在此上落。
由于它具有如此显赫的特殊身份，所以称为天字码头。
是目前广州使用历史最久的码头。
1839年（道光十九年）3月10日林则徐到达广州查禁鸦片，就是在天字码头登岸，掀开了鸦片战争的序幕；孙中山在此登船北伐，去谱写消除封建割据，结束半殖民地中国的历史。
我们的游船时间大概是一个半小时，从天字码头到广州的CBD猎德大桥再原路返回。
在码头的南面，我们可以看到，横跨珠江两岸的桥叫海珠桥，相信大家在许多新闻报道中都有看过，海珠桥建于1933年，海珠桥是广州市第一座跨江桥, 1949年，国民党当局在败退广州前夕，提出“总撤退、总罢工、总破坏”的行动口号，妄图变广州成为废墟，并以破坏海珠桥为主要目标，海珠桥便在当年被炸毁，1950年3月，市政府开始重建海珠桥，由衡阳铁路管理局技术员卓观培带领有关技术人员日夜奋战，仅用六个月时间便把海珠桥修复并通车，桥长486米，正桥182米，桥宽33米，重建后的海珠桥桥面不能开合，桥上来回设有三线行车，两边亦设有行人路及自行车道，外观与原桥大致相若。

珠江，是流经广州市区的一条大江，它有广义与狭义之分。
广义的珠江是西江、北江和东江三条河流的总称。
西江的上游为南盘江、源头在云南省益县马友邻山，流经桂之后，主流从广东磨石门(在珠海斗门)注入南海，全长2129公里;北江西源武水出湖南临武县，东源湞水出江西信丰县，长582公里;东江江源寻乌水，西源九曲江，均出江西省安远、寻乌两县间，长503公里。
西、北、东三江分别于广州附近汇入珠江，流域总面积为万平方公里(不领导越南境内部分)。
珠江河口的巨大冲积平原称珠江三角洲，三角洲一带港汊密布，主要入海口有虎门、洪奇沥、磨刀门、崖门等处。
狭义的珠江仅指从广州市区北面的石门(流溪河)到东面的黄埔港这一段经市区北面的石门
