•subtropical cyclone（副热带气旋）：兼有热带气旋和温带气旋特点。
•supercell（超级单体雷暴）：指一种强烈雷暴。
•temperature inversion（逆温）：指温度偏离正常大气变化。
可能带来污染性天气如浊雾（smog）。
•thunder（雷）：指闪电造成的声音。
•tornado（龙卷风）：指一种强烈的螺旋形气柱（violent, rotating column of air），连接地面和云层。
•tropical storm（热带风暴）：也叫飓风或台风等。

Gust指强度和方向不断变化的风。
风的间歇叫lull。
一阵风叫blast。
刮风的时间叫blustery。

注：日本的所谓神风（divine wind）在日语中叫kamikaze，实际为台风。
