一、教材分析（一）教材的地位和作用本课为新目标八年级上册第四单元的第一课时。
本单元的中心话题是“transportation”,它与学生的日常生活是紧密联系在一起的，本课围绕“谈论如何去上学”这一话题展开教学，引导学生通过本课的语言素材看图说话、句型操练、实际描述，对话表演使学生学会用英语。
本课还学习以how引导的特殊疑问句，通过问答训练，进一步提高学生听、说、读、写综合素质能力。
（二）教学目标依据课程标准以及对教材的理解，对学生的分析，我确定本课的目标如下：知识：（1）掌握新单词：subway hey train（2）掌握以how引导的特殊疑问句的问答How do you get to school ? How does he / she get to school?能力:提高学生听，说，读，写，综合运用知识的能力。
情感:发挥学生的潜能，能谈论自己及周围人的上学，上班，回家，或旅游的交通方式，调动学生应用英语的积极性，学会关心别人。
