空巢老人英语范文

空巢老人英语范文In today's fast-paced world, the phenomenon of empty nest has become increasingly common. As children grow up and move out to pursue their own lives and careers, many parents are left behind in their familiar homes, feeling a sense of loneliness and isolation. This condition, known as "empty nest syndrome," poses unique challenges for modern seniors, who must adapt to a new way of life and find new sources of happiness and fulfillment. The transition to an empty nest can be emotionally difficult for many parents. After years of caring for and guiding their children, they may feel a sense of loss and emptiness as the house becomes quiet and the daily routine changes. They may struggle with feelings of loneliness and inadequacy, wondering what their purpose is now without their children around. However, it is important for empty nesters to recognize that this is a normal part of life and that they have the ability to overcome these challenges. With the right approach, they can turn this new phase into a time of personal growth and discovery. One way to combat the loneliness of empty nest syndrome is to stay connected with friends and family. Seniors can make use of modern technology to stay in touch with their children and grandchildren, even when they are far away. Video calls, social media, and messaging apps allow them to stay connected and share their daily lives. Additionally, they can seek out new social circles, such as joining clubs or participating in community activities, to meet new people and make friends.Another way to combat loneliness is to focus on personal development and hobbies. Seniors can use this time to explore new interests or to pursue passions they may have put on the back burner while raising children. They can take up painting, learn a new language, or become involved in volunteer work. These activities not only provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment but also help to keep them engaged and active. Moreover, empty nesters should prioritize their own health and well-being. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and regular medical check-ups are essential for maintaining good health. Additionally, they should make time for self-care, such as reading, meditating, or simply taking a moment to appreciate the small joys of life.In conclusion, while the transition to an empty nestcan be emotionally challenging for many parents, it is important to remember that this is a normal part of life.By staying connected, pursuing personal interests, and prioritizing their own health and well-being, empty nesters can turn this new phase into a time of personal growth and discovery. 空巢老人的英语作文篇一:空巢老人Empty nest syndrome is a general feeling of loneliness that parents or guardians may feel when one or more of their children leave home; it is more common in women. The marriage of a child can lead to similar feelings, with the role and influence of the parents often becoming less important compared to the new spouse.A strong maternal or paternal bond between the parent and child can make the condition worse. The role of the parent while the child is still living with them is more hands-on and immediate than is possible when they have moved out, particularly if the distance means that visits are difficult.Empty nest syndrome has become more prevalent in modern times,as the extended family is becoming less common than in past generations, and the elderly are left living by themselves.篇二:空巢老人现象A. Topic: Study the following cartoon carefully and write an essay on the topic of loving our parents.B. Word limit: about 200 wordsC. Your essay should meet the requirements below:1. Describe the cartoon and the message conveyed2.Draw a conclusion and give your comment on the cartoon. Your essay must be written clearly. As is vividly depicts in the cartoon, old parents are sitting on the coach with disappointment and sadness, because no one comes back to celebrate with them. Although they received a lot of presents from their children, they feel very miserable andhave no appetite, since what they want most is not such material stuffs but the care and love from their children and grandchildren.Nowadays, young men look so busy and independent in modern society that they will never feel free to live with their parents. They move out and mind their own business every day. On usual days, they would not like to take their time to visit their parents with the excuses of busyness. On some festival days, they probably share a little time to drop in their parents or even just send some presents but don’t show up personally like what the cartoon above illustrates. They think that presents can represent their love, however, to the parents, who overcame a lot of difficulties to bring them up, those stuff are far away from what they really hope for.篇三:空巢老人With the deepening of the aging of society, there are a growing number of empty-nesters, which has become a social problem can not be ignored. When the children leave home due to reasons such as work, study, marriage, leaving their middle-aged parents at home, empty-nesters will produce the symptoms of mental disorders, known as the family “empty-nest”syndrome. Some empty-nesters can live a good life after retire, especially those in city. Most of them live in the same city with their children so that they can visit each other often. Besides, they can participate in various group activities. For example, some middle-aged people attend to universities for the elderly for further study, while others join the choir or some other public service activities. By these activities,empty-nesters can eliminate of loneliness and realize their ownvalues. While in rural area, situations get worse. Most young people work in city, leaving their elderly parents at home to take care of themselves. In rural area, there are much less activities for elderly so that they are busy with the farm work all the day. And some elderly look after their grand-children, which is the main task for elderly in the country. From the description above, we can know that some elderly people can live a good life although they’re empty-nesters. However, it’s our responsibility to care for our parents and our care is what they really need in life. So, no matter how busy you are, remember to care about them, talk to them frequently.篇四:空巢老人Nowadays, in every corner stands a nuclear family, whichembraces a father, a mother, one or two children. However, a large majority of children leave their parents for their jobs, and only parents stay at home isolatedly. And young men are so entwined by the work that gerontic parents are bemused with the feast on the table, looking forward to the coming of their chilren. In modern society, which is suffused with intensive competion, young men have to work hard so as not to lag behind others. In this way, they almost forget their parents’ life. In usual days, they would not like to take their time to visit their parents with busyness. On some festival days, they probably spare a little time to drop in on their parents or even just send some presents for there may be a party where they have to appear. But are the occasional visits and unemotional presents enough to solace parents’ solitude? Can these pay off many years’ love of parents ? No matter how busy young men are, they should pay more attention to parents’ feeling and life. Actuarlly, parents understand their children so much and don’t have so many requirments for them. They just want to have a chat with their children to share the sorrow and happiness in the life, or staying with their children to express silent intimate relationship. Therefor, as childen of parents, we should suffice their few wishes. Once we are free from work, refuse some social activities, spare time to visit them, talk with them and accompany them. Besides, we can arouse parents to do some activities, such as playing chess, drawing pictures and so on to enjoy their old years. Consequantly, they will feel less lonliness without our absence. If we visit parents frequatly, care more about them, I believe the world will be full of harmonious atmosphere with love.。

First, residents in both townships are confused about which authority to contact when they need a service; for example, the police department in Roseville receives many calls from residents of West Roseville. This sort of confusion would be eliminated with the merger. Second, the savings in administrative costs would be enormous, since services would no longer be duplicated: we would have only one fire chief, one tax department, one mayor, and so on. And no jobs in city government would be lost-employees could sim__ be reassigned. Most importantly, the merger will undoubtedly attract business investments as it did when the townships of Hamden and North Hamden merged ten years ago.空巢老人英语四级作文 5In the picture, an old man is sitting in the wheelchair, and a dog is serving him with milk and food. Ironically, it is the dog that takes the responsibility to attend the old man. We cannot help wondering where the old man’s grown up children are. It is they not the dog who should takegood care of their old father. The implied meaning of the picture is really provoking. It is quite true that in our society there are some grown-up children who treat their old parents badly. When their old parents are too old to take care of themselves, they often view them as a “burden” of their family life. They refuse either to support their aging parents financially or to look after them. No doubt, this immoral behavior of these grown-up children’s should be subject to social condemnation. To respect the old has long been a traditional virtue of the Chinese people. We should always bear in mind that we are much indebted to our parents in that they not only gave us life but have done much to bringing us up. It is against conscience to escape from the responsibility to take care of our parents. Rather, we should pay back for the love and care of our parents by making their later years happy and enjoyable.。

The main reasons are aging phenomenon(Taylor, 2003, pp. 25-29) and many migrant looking for more rewards in the cities. We couldn’t stop it, and what actually should we do is facing a series of problems, and service for this new group of cities well. by combining with a variety of forces, such as social fund, government and every person, we can ultimately achieve a more harmony and beautiful society. Keywords: migrant workers, aging phenomenon, urbanization.1 Present SituationWith the proceeding of industrialization and urbanization accelerating , more and more rural labor force flow over into the cities. There is no doubt that the migrant workers make great contributions to the development of cities, but this phenomenon bring into many social problems, such as Empty-nest Elders. Empty-nest elders means the rural old’s young and strong children who should support their parents go into the cities for better c areer opportunities and don’t have enough power to take care of their parents. Occasionally empty-nest elders have to do farm work by themselves, and even take care of left-behind children, which can be a heavy burden to them. They are in poor situation, lack of a sense of security, and feel lonely because they would be lack of their children’ care. Often report related to the tragedy. The problem of “empty nest old man” has become one of the topics with wide public concern. Society and government should think deeply about it.2 ReasonsNowadays, the aging phenomenon has been more and more serious. Young men have to bear more pressure than ever before. At the same time, the rapid development of society make many cities requires a lot of labor force. These two main reasons lend to more and more migrant flow over into the cities to look for more salary. And it comes very naturally that the problems of the empty-nest elders become more significant.3 SolutionsUrbanization is inevitable trend of cities in China, as well as rural labor force force flowing over into the cities. We couldn’t stop it, and what actually should we do is facing a series of problems, and service for this new group of cities well. In my opinion, several measures must be taken to help the elderly people.1Berndt, T. J. (2002). Different roles of land in rural-urban migration: Evidence from China's household survey. China & World Economy, 21(1), 107-126.It is a direct solution to establish charity fund about empty-nest elders. So we can call for the whole society to provide material or voluntary service. Then the fund can take effective measures to help the elderly people to live a comfortable and happy life. However, great majority of them do not only require how comfortable in the material conditions and what is most essential for them is psychic gratification. For one thing, as for their children, you should repay and gratitude for the love and care from your parents. Firstly, you should visit your parents frequently as you could. No matter how busy you work, I believe the time you go home or call a telephone must be find if you want. Secondly, when you go home, you should have enough patience to talk to your parents and listen to them even though you may be hear what they have said many times. Thirdly, you could educate your child to look after and respect their grandparents, which is good for children’ growing. In short, there is n o doubt that we also will become elderly people one day. We should consider and help our parents as possible as we can.For another thing, the government should make laws and regulations to solve the difficulties that migrant may face. On the one hand, government should improve the insurance system and the medical & education situation of migrant workers. If the timing is right and conditions allow, cities also should open the household registration system. Through the improvement of their social treatment, it is conducive for migrant workers to reduce their pressure and promote family harmony, so they’ll take more care of their parents. On the another hand, government should also pay attention to the planning and development of villages and towns, but not only the city. In this way, we hope migrant to be not far away form their hometown and care their home. Meanwhile, balancing urban and rural development could reduce the regional economic differences, and promote common prosperity and social harmony.4 ConclusionsThe problems of the empty-nest elders have been more and more serious. The importance of solving the problems should be acknowledged by everyone. We should actively respond to these problems without a little hesitate, by combining with a variety of forces (e.g. social fund, government and individual). Only in this way can we ultimately achieve a more harmony and beautiful society.AcknowledgmentsI would first like to thank my adviser, Song Hongliang, for all his support and guidance.I would also like to express my gratitude to my coworkers for their understanding.I would like to especially thank my family and friends, who listened to my frustrations and who believed in me.
