2023考研英语考试大纲新增词汇

2023考研英语考试大纲新增词汇

2023考研英语考试大纲新增词汇全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1New Big Words for the Big Kid TestHey there, kids! Are you getting ready to be a really big kid and go to graduate school? If so, you'll need to take a really important test called the Graduate English Exam. The people who make that test added some new big words to it this year. Let me tell you all about those fancy new words! The first new word is "ubiquitous." Doesn't that sound funny? It's kind of a monster of a word. "Ubiquitous" means something that is everywhere or found in many places. Like how toys always seem to be ubiquitous, scattered all over your room!Another new big word is "pragmatic." This one means focused on the practical side of things, rather than just ideas or theories. Your parents are probably pragmatic when they make you clean your room before you can go out and play.Get ready for a really long one: "intersectionality." This is a warm about how different parts of someone's identity, like theirrace, gender, and social class, can overlap and impact their experiences in life. That's a pretty deep concept for a big kid test! Here's a fun word: "quixotic." It means something that is wildly idealistic and impractical. Like when you make big plans to build a huge fort out of every pillow and blanket in the house - that's being pretty quixotic! The word "ameliorate" got added too. It just means to make something better or improve a situation. Like when you ameliorate your chances of getting dessert by eating all your veggies at dinner. They also put in the word "quotidian," which describes something that is ordinary, routine, or everyday. Going to school, doing your homework, those are all pretty quotidian activities for you kids. One of my favorite new words is "ebullient." It means bubbling over with enthusiasm and energy. Like how you kids get all ebullient and bouncy when the ice cream truck comes down the street! The last new word I'll tell you about is "torpor." This is the opposite of ebullient - it means a state of sluggishness, apathy orlack of energy. You might feel a bit torpor-ish when you wake up really early for school.Phew, that's a lot of big new words! I tried to explain them in fun ways you could understand. But don't worry, by the time you're ready for that big Graduate English Exam, you'll be such a stellar student that all these words will be a piece of cake.Just keep working hard, listening to your teachers, and never stopping your quest to learn. Before you know it, you'll be breezing through tests with words like ubiquitous, pragmatic, and ebullient. You've got this, kiddo!篇2New Words for the Big Test!Hi there! Are you getting ready to take a really important English test soon? If so, you'll want to listen up because there are some new words you'll need to know. Don't worry though, I'm here to make learning them fun!First up, let's talk about the word "ubiquitous." Thisfunny-sounding word means something is seeming to be everywhere at the same time. Like how video games andsmartphones are just ubiquitous these days! All the cool kids have them.Next is "insidious." This word describes something that happens slowly in a tricky or unpleasant way. Like how vegetables can be insidious - your parents keep trying to sneak them onto your plate! Sneaky, sneaky. Here's another doozy: "inundate." When you inundate something, you completely cover or overwhelm it with things. Like when your teacher inundates you with so much homework, you feel buried under all those books and papers! No thanks! The word "dichotomy" refers to a big contrast or difference between two things. There's a real dichotomy between chocolate cake (yum!) and brussels sprouts (yuck!). No matter how you dress them up, they could not be more different.Let's move on to "arcane." This is an adjective that means something is very obscure or secret, known only by a few people. Like the arcane rules of that complicated new video game you just can't figure out how to play. Maybe you need a codebreaker! How about "audacious"? When someone is audacious, they are shockingly brave or bold. Like the audacious kid who snuck into the theater without paying. That took some serious guts!"Visceral" is one word that really grabs your attention. It refers to something producing a strong emotional reaction deep in your guts or instincts. A visceral feeling of fear might make your heart race or your palms sweat.Next up is "ersatz," which means being a poor-quality imitation or substitute for the real thing. Like that ersatz pizza you tried to make using saltine crackers and ketchup. Nice try, but no dice kiddo! The word "ephemeral" describes something that only lasts for a very short time. Like the ephemeral puddles that disappear quickly after a spring rain shower. Here one minute, gone the next! Finally, let's talk about something being "farcical." This fun word means something is completely ridiculous or absurd, often in a funny or silly way. Like a farcical movie where people keep slipping and sliding all over the place on banana peels. Who writes this stuff?Phew, that's a lot of big new words! But don't you worry, if you practice and review them, they'll be a piece of cake come test day. Just think how impressed your friends will be when you start dropping "ubiquitous" and "dichotomy" into your everydayconversations. They'll think you're some sort of vocab vanquisher! So what are you waiting for? Get out there and start learning those new words like the studious superstar you are. You've got this!篇3New Words for the Big Test!Hi friends! Today I'm going to tell you about some brand new words that were just added to the huge English test that older students have to take to get into university. It's called the graduate English exam and it's a really tough test with lots of big vocabulary words that can be super hard to learn. But don't worry, I'll explain what these new words mean in a way that's easy for us kids to understand! The first new word is "amalgamate." Now that's a weird one, right? It sounds like it could be the name of a cool robot or alien or something. But actually, amalgamate means to combine or unite into one whole. Like if you had two different piles of Lego bricks and you pushed them together to make one big pile, you would be amalgamating them!Next up is "antediluvian." This is definitely one of the harder words, but it refers to something that is extremely old or outdated. Like those prehistoric dinosaurs from millions of years ago were positively antediluvian! Or maybe your grandparents' old rotary phone from back in the 1900s is pretty antediluvian too.How about "Balkanize"? This word actually comes from the name of a whole region called the Balkans, which has a bunch of smaller countries all divided up. So if something is Balkanized, it means it's been broken up into smaller, disunited pieces or groups. Like if your class got split up and some students went to one room while others went to a totally different room, you could say your class got Balkanized. The next word is "cajole" which means to persuade someone to do something by coaxing or flattering them. Like if your friend really didn't want to go to the park but you kept saying nice things to butter them up until they finally agreed to go, then you cajoled them into going to the park. One of my personal favorite new words is "ebullient." It describes when someone is extremely lively, enthusiastic or joyful. Like when it's your birthday and you're so excited to open your presents and eat cake - that's an ebullient kind of mood. Orif you just got home from an awesome trip to Disneyland, you'd probably still be feeling pretty ebullient! Those are just a few examples, but there are lots more wacky new words like "nugatory," "palimpsest," "soporific" and "quiescent." I'm not even going to try to explain those super hard ones! The test-takers are really going to have their work cut out for them memorizing all these crazy vocabulary terms. But you know what? Even though big standardized tests like that can be really stressful, it's also kind of cool that there are all these fun, goofy words out there in the English language. Words are like the building blocks for sharing ideas and telling stories. The more words you know, the more you can express yourself clearly and communicate complex thoughts and feelings. So keep exploring new words, even zany ones like "ebullient" or "antediluvian." Who knows, maybe someday you'll be the one taking the graduate English exam and putting all that wild vocabulary to use! Either way, words are awesome and learning should be a blast. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go amalgamate my Lego piles...篇4New Words for the Big English Test!Hey kids! Are you getting ready to take the really important English test for getting into graduate school next year? Well, listen up because there are some new words you'll need to know! You know how every year, the people who make the test add some fresh words that everyone has to learn? It's like a fun game of keeping things interesting and making sure you pay attention in class. This year's new words are a pretty cool bunch.Let me introduce you to some of the new vocabulary champions of 2023! First up, we have "discombobulated." Doesn't that just sound crazy? It means feeling confused, puzzled, or upset. Like if your mom accidentally shrunk your favorite shirt in the dryer, you might feel a little discombobulated.Another new word is "serendipity." This refers to something happy happening by chance or lucky accident. Like finding a 5 bill on the ground when you really need milk money for school - that would be a serendipitous discovery! How about "ephemeral?" This long word just means lasting for a very short time. A soap bubble is ephemeral becausepopand it's gone in the blink of an eye. The beautiful colors of a sunrise are also ephemeral as they quickly fade into daylight.Doesn't "quintessential" sound like a serious tongue-twister? It means representing the most perfect or typical example of something. Like a chocolate chip cookie could be the quintessential after-school snack. This big word will make you sound very smart if you use it right!Okay, I'll give you one more new word for now, then you can wow your friends with your fancy vocabulary skills. Get ready for "dichotomy" - it means a division or contrast between two things that are opposites. Night and day could be called a dichotomy. Or a bicycle with training wheels versus one without. There are a bunch more new words where those came from, but I don't want to discombobulate your brains too much all at once! Just think how impressed your teachers will be when you randomly drop "serendipity" into your next book report.Keep working hard, kids! A little quintessential studying and you'll be ALL SET to ace those new vocabulary terms on the big test. The ephemeral joys of summer will be over before you know it, and then the dichotomy of school routines will start all over again. But no need to feel discombobulated - you've got this!篇5New Words for the Big Test!Hi friends! Are you getting ready for the big English test to get into graduate school this year? I heard there are some new words they added that we all need to learn. At first I was like "Aw man, more new words?" But then I thought about how fun it will be to learn them all!The first new word is "lexicon." That basically just means a collection of words, like a dictionary. The test makers added some words to the lexicon we need to know. Pretty meta, right? Using a new word to explain they added new words. Gotta love English!Another new word is "obfuscate." That's a fun one to say - ob-fus-cate! It means to make something difficult to understand, like if I obfuscated the rules of a game to confuse you. A obfuscator is someone who obfuscates stuff. Teachers don't like it when we obfuscate our homework instructions! Here's a tricky one: "truculent." It sounds kind of like "truck" but it means defiantly aggressive or uncompromising. Like if someone says "Clean your room!" and you truculently say "Noway, you can't make me!" Then you're being truculent. I try not to be too truculent with my parents. The next word is "malinger." That means pretending to be ill or incapacitated to avoid duty or work. Like if you don't want to go to school, you might malinger by faking a cough or stomach ache. I've never malingered before, have you? We probably shouldn't malinger for the big test! This next one is weird - "velleity." It means a wish or inclination without effort to make it a reality. Like if you velleitously say "Man, I wish I could play pro basketball" but don't actually practice or try out for the team. A velleity is just an idle wish with no actions behind it. No velleities allowed when prepping for the English test! Those are just a few examples of the new vocabulary words. There are probably 20 or 30 more new ones we'll need to learn thoroughly. It might seem like a lot, but I know we can do it if we put in the hard work! The best way is to make flashcards with the word on one side and the definition on the other. Then quiz yourself and your friends. You can also look for examples of the words being used in books, movies, or online to really lock them into your brain.Another fun idea is to make up silly songs, raps, or rhymes using all the new vocabulary words. The sillier the better - it will be an easy way to memorize them all. I'll share mine at the next study session! It's awesome that we get to learn all these neat new words. They'll help make our English skills even stronger for the big test day. Some of the words might seem weird or confusing at first, but stick with it. Before you know it, they'll be a core part of your lexicon!Okay, I'd better get back to my vocabulary practice flashcards now. Let me know if you need any help or just want to go over the new words together. We've got this!Your friend,[Your name]篇6New Big Words for the Grown-Up TestHi friends! Guess what? I learned about some really big words that are going to be on the grown-up test called the graduate admissions English exam next year. My big sister isgoing to take that test so she can go to an even bigger school after college. She's been studying like crazy!I overheard my parents talking about the new words that are being added to the test. At first, I didn't understand what they were saying because the words were super duper long and complicated. But then I asked my sister to explain them to me in a way that I could understand. Get ready, because these words are massive! The first crazy word is "anthropophuism." Can you believe how many letters are in that thing? My sister said it means when people think animals or objects can think and feel like humans. Like when I pretend my stuffed bear Mr. Snuggles is sad because I accidentally stepped on his paw. I'm giving him human feelings, which is anthropophuism. Wild, right?Another bizarre new word is "heteroscedasticity." I can barely even say that one! My sister told me it's a fancy math term about when the spread of data points isn't consistent across different values. I'm not really sure what that means, but it sounds incredibly smart and sophisticated. Then there's "synecdoche." Sounds like a funny name a dinosaur would have! Apparently, it's when you use a part of something to refer to the whole thing, or vice versa. Like if I said"There are a lot of wheels in the parking lot" to mean there are a lot of cars. Using "wheels" to represent the entire car is a synecdoche. Tricky tricky! But the word that made me laugh the most is "zombivalent." My sister explained it means having mixed feelings about something - you're neither fully for it nor fully against it. So if I couldn't decide if I loved or hated broccoli, I'd be feeling zombivalent about broccoli! I'm definitely going to start using that word to describe how I feel about vegetables. There are a bunch more insane new words, but those are probably the craziest ones. I can't imagine having to learn the definitions and proper use of hundreds of ridiculous words like that. My head is already spinning just from hearing about anthropophuism, heteroscedasticity, synecdoche, and zombivalent! I'll stick to mastering words more my speed, like "gigantic" and "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" for now.I really hope my sister is able to get all those wacky vocabulary words down pat for her big test next year. If not, I'll lend her Mr. Snuggles to practice her anthropophuism skills on. Either way, I'm glad I'm just a kid and no one expects me to know what heteroscedasticity or synecdoche mean yet. Being a grown-up sounds hard!Okay, time for me to go chase after the ice cream truck. Maybe I'll ask for a "zombivalent" ice cream flavor - half chocolate, half vanilla. Haha! Let me know if you need any help learning those crazy new vocabulary words. I'll do my best to explain them in kid terms. Later days!。
