好久不见，我们寒喧了几句孩子的暑假之后，她便捧本书认真地读了起来。
据她说，她家的街坊邻居，有一个妈妈读书俱乐部。
大约12个妈妈，每六星期聚一次，每次由一个妈妈主讲读书内容，其它妈妈参与自由讨论。
这些美国妈妈都有工作，平时也要照顾孩子们的各种课外活动。
如果说，妈妈的素质可以影响下一代，爱读书的美国妈妈，一定能以更智慧的方式培养她们的孩子。
不是我消极，和美国妈妈相比，中国妈妈读书偏少，这肯定是事实。
当然这种现象不能完全怪中国妈妈。
中国社区的图书馆非常少，本身就没有读书环境。
美国妈妈爱读书，也不是心血来潮的荒腔走板，这些美国妈妈一定小时候就爱读书，现在只是维持了她们儿时的习惯而已。
中国孩子主要忙于应付考试，因为课外读书时间少，博览群书的兴趣也就不大，孩子在成年以后，对阅读也就没有什么饥渴感，当然也就不爱看书了。
在如今的中国，除了搞文字工作的女性，爱看书的中国妈妈能有多少呢？有时候，中国妈妈又走向极端，一看到哈佛爸爸妈妈的书，不管内容三七二十一，拿来就看，还总想拿自己的孩子做实验。
读书识理，阅读可以提高妈妈的判断力，没有基本阅读做保证的妈妈们，对孩子判断失误在所难免。
即使读了哈佛爸爸妈妈的书，也是白费功夫。
中国和美国，不同的地方确实很多。
妈妈们对读书的热爱程度，就是一个主要差异。
不是我悲观，培养中国妈妈的读书习惯，任重道远，即使有N代的努力，也不一定能有什么改变。

我的美国“妈妈”

满眼葱郁的树丛和草坪，活力四射的学校营地，丰富有趣的研学课程……我的美国研学之旅在一切美好中开始了。
在营地，结束了一天的快乐学习，我和小伙伴们终于和寄宿家庭的美国妈妈见面了！我有些激动，又有点小紧张。
这位美国“妈妈”大约50多岁，个子不高，中等身材，身着黑色短袖T恤，一头深棕色的卷发略显灰白，头上顶着一副眼镜，显得非常干练。
“小朋友们好！我是你们的美国妈妈！”她热情地招呼我们，脸上始终洋溢着亲切的微笑。
一番介绍后，我知道了她的名字叫多里，有五个孩子。
在我们寄宿的这栋两层高的大别墅里，住着多里夫妇和三个哥哥，两条一白一黑、一大一小的卷毛狗和一只可爱的小猫，还有两个孩子住在别处。
多里全家对我们非常热情友好，多里温柔的眼神和真诚的笑容总是呈现出一种打动人心的魅力。
于是，我很快融入了这个温馨的大家庭。
多里一家是虔诚的基督徒，每天晚餐前，多里或者美国爸爸罗伯都要带领孩子们一起做祷告。
第一天刚到他们家时，我和小伙伴们好奇着这一切，也学着他们的样子，相互手拉手，闭着眼睛，聆听他们祷告，感受着这种气氛的神圣、美好。
当我听到多里妈妈在祷告时说：“感谢上帝！让我们迎来了四个可爱的中国男孩！”我的内心除了兴奋和激动，更多的是被他们的真诚所感动。
就在那一刻，所有语言的障碍，陌生环境的拘束，都已化为乌有！那顿晚餐我吃得特别开心！
多里妈妈是一位勤劳的家庭主妇。
怕我们吃不惯，她常常变着花样给我们做好吃的。
晚?x有时是甜玉米、四季豆、鸡翅和意大利面，有时是猪排、土豆泥和西兰花，有时是海鲜味和千层味的披萨，海鲜披萨由烤肉饼、青菜和美味酱汁组成，而千层披萨由白色酱汁、红果酱及烤饼组成，都很精致美味。
每一次晚?x，我都吃得好饱，一粒不剩。
记得一天下午，多里冒着酷热，开车到五公里外的超市，去买我们想吃的猪排和披萨。
等她回来后，我到厨房专门向她说了一声：“谢谢，您辛苦了！”她笑了笑，说：“没关系的，我会为你们做我力所能及的事情！”
短短7天的寄宿生活很快就结束了。
离别那天，因多里妈妈有事，由美国大哥开车送我们。
看着熟悉的大房子越来越小，心里还真有些不舍！一路上，多里妈妈的笑容一直在我眼前回荡。
“人间处处有真情，真情时时暖人心”，我在心里默默地说：“再见了，美国妈妈，我会永远祝福你们！”。
