一、分类简介
工作与生活类相关考题在雅思写作中算不上是常见的大话题类别，每年出现的比例也就5%-10%左右。
不过即便如此，也不应该放松警惕，在2013年的考试中，这两类话题的出现频率均有小幅增长，因此小马过河雅思培训中心建议各位考生在备考2014年雅思写作时，不要忽略了工作与生活类的素材及表达的准备。
一般来说，工作与生活类考题会包含年轻人的工作选择及态度，也会考察老年人在工作中的岗位以及退休和福利政策;另一方面工作方式如远程办公等也会有所涉及，而男女不同性别在工作场合的不同岗位以及不同建议也是时常出现的，并且这一种考题内容相对是学生们最薄弱的，因为会略微的抽象。
二、细节详解
l 择业类：
有关年轻人工作选择及更换的考题经常能在出国英语考试包括雅思和托福中见到，比如有关是否孩子的工作应该是要与父母的相同或相似的才好;应该是根据自己的兴趣选择工作还是要考虑现实原因来考虑;雇主在选择员工时更看重的是学历而不是能力;现在更多的年轻人在政治领域工作;现在有不少年轻人选择打临时工而不是终身制的工作;现在年轻人经常跳槽更换工作等等这些考题都应是考生在进考场前就得十分熟悉的内容。
而2013年2月14日出现这样的一道老题：Some people think that young people should be free to choose his or her job, but other people think they should be realistic and think more about their future. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. 事实上，这道题应该是再熟悉不过了的，而且也的确是不少大学生考生面临的选择，所以只要准备好足够的词汇与表达应该是难不倒大家的。
而支持自由选择的理由可以包含1)工作是生活的重要组成部分，可以说成年人的生活是被工作充满的，所以如果工作不是自己喜欢或擅长的而是勉强的话，那么会影响生活质量;这条理由其实也恰巧是2013年1月10日的考题;2)只有自己喜欢这项工作，才会有更多的热情和动力，那么对于自己的事业规划和晋升才会有帮助。
相反认为应该现实点考虑的话，可以说到大多数人工作的第一目的是赚钱，因为这是在社会上生存或是生活得更好的一个重要因素，所以如果是考虑这一现实的话那么自然会可能与
自己兴趣相违背。

l 职业与性别类：
除了常规的职业选择及考量之外，雅思考题中还经常会出现职业与性别之间的关联考题，如：Men and women are different in terms of their characteristics and abilities. For this reason, some jobs
are better done by men and others by women. 而历史上曾出现过的一个与此相反的考题是建议老板在每一个岗位上都应该雇佣相同比例的男性员工与女性员工。
事实上，不论是论证应该各司其职还是分析比例相等，考生可以将这两道截然相反的考题看做是同一题，只要选择固定的一个答案就可以了，如认为应该各有各的长处而不要勉强数量上刻意的平等。
其实上面类似考题的理由也不难思考：1)不论是从生理构造，性格特征还是体力等方面来考虑，男性与女性的确是存在不同;鉴于此，自然有不同的工作岗位适合不同的性别;如男性更适合对体力要求
高的工种如铁匠，而女性更适合对耐心要求高的如护士幼师等;2)如果刻意追求平等比例，不但做不到男女平等，反倒会令公司失去适合的人才从而影响效率;3)社会大众在长时间的思维习惯下，对于特定的工作由特定人群来负责已经是不可否认了的，比如说老百姓更乐意见到男警察及女护士等。
