例谈初中英语作文评价及评语的写法李海燕摘要:写作教学是目前初中英语教学中的薄弱环节,这主要表现在教师对学生作文缺少系统性的写作指导,教师对学牛作文的衡量只是打个分数来区分好差,至于好在哪里,差在哪里?学生当然是云里雾里,长此以往,学生没有写作积极性,何谈写作能力的提高呢?笔者在多年的教学实践中,在激发学牛写作兴趣、提高写作能力方面不断地进行探索、尝试,注重对初中学生英语作文进行及时有效的评价,并且充分认识到,在对学生作文评价的过程中,巧用激励性、温情脉脉的评语,对指导学生形成良好的写作习惯、激发写作兴趣、提高写作水平方面都起着“润物无声”、“点铁成金”的作用。

木文拟从四个方面谈谈笔者在对学生英语作文评价方式方法上的一点尝试,权作抛砖引玉,求大方之家指正。

关键词:初中英语写作;作文评价;评语《英语课程标准》要求初中学牛掌握听、说、读、写的四项基木技能。

而这四项基木技能中,“写”是弱项。

究其原因,可能有两方面:一是来自学牛木身;二是来自教师。

从学生方面看,那肯定是练得不多,思想上也没有引起高度重视。

从教师层面入手,主要有以下几方面:教师在英语写作教学理念上不够明确;在英语教学的方法和手段上针对性不够强;未能真正将写作教学与阅读教学、词汇教学、英语思维以及跨国文化意识教学有机地结合起来;批改作文时采取传统的批改方式,即学牛上交作文,教师以分数定等级,很少或从来不会在文章末尾加上评语。

即使有,也多是抽象的、程式化的套话,这些程式化的评语呈现出一副冷冰冰的说教面孔,毫无感情,长期下去,学生渐渐就失去了兴趣。

其实,评语是作文教学中的重要一环,给学生下评语则是这一环节中的点睛之笔。

因此在对初中学牛英语作文评价的过程中,巧用激励性评语对指导学牛形成良好的写作规范,提高阅读与鉴赏水平,培养英语学习的兴趣都将起着润物无声的作用。

那么该从哪些方面对英语作文进行评价呢?笔者认为以下方面不可或缺:一、卷面是否整洁,字迹是否清晰,标点是否合理《英语课程标准》中提出了对初中英语书写的要求:能正确规范地书写英语26个字母,能正确规范地书写单词和句子,能正确地使用人小写字母和标点符号,养成良好的书写习惯。

中考英语标准中也明确规定:“书写差以致影响交际的,降低一个档次?分。

”可见,书写在作文的评价标准中也占有一席之地。

然而现在学生的书写存在着诸多问题:不能规范地书写某个字母(1)手写体和印刷体不分,特别是J、G、I、Y等字母的书写错误极为频繁;(2)有些相似的字母容易弄混淆。

如M和W, b和d,p和q等。

⑶ 对四线三格的要求把握不准。

如小写f占三格却只写在上面两格,大写字母都占上面两格但却把有些大写字母写在下面两格。

小写j只写在上面两格等。

(4)容易受到汉语拼音的影响。

如把小写i、Y写成汉语拼音等。

(5)其他情况:写英语字母吋,一般要向左边倾斜一点,有的学生却爱向右面倾斜,或者写来垂直。

而有的同学把握不准字母的尺寸,写得太长或太短,太宽或太窄,或者就是没写在第三条线上。

这些看起来都会很别扭。

2.在单词书写上存在的问题学生在书写单词吋也存在一些问题。

比如:单词之间应该留有一个字母的位置,很多同学却把一句话的单词全部写来连在一起,不仅如此,单词里的字母本来应该挨在一起,他们却要分得很开,这样一来,前一个单词的字母和后一个单词的字母连在一起,很多吋候你都不知道他们到底写的是什么。

还有,有的同学爱把一个单词分开,一半写在上一行的末尾,一半写在下一行的开始。

这些不规范的书写,使批改作业很费劲,往往要花很多的时间。

3•在书写句子上存在的问题学生在书写句子吋主要存在两个问题。

其一就是句子的单词间距太宽或太窄。

其二就是不使用标点符号,很多同学认为只要写完单词就是了,标点要不要无足轻重,殊不知,没有标点,一句话就不完整,其至失去了它本来的意义。

而有的同学是不知道怎么用,用什么,或是粗心大意,忘记写了。

4•在书写标点符号上存在的问题由于受到汉语的影响,很多学生在书写标点吋往往易弄错。

比如把句号(.)写成(o)把省略号(…)写成(……)。

写信吋,称呼(Dear…)后的逗号(,)容易写成冒号(:)o还有,英语中没有顿号(、),汉语中用顿号(、)的地方在英语中都用逗号(,),这一点是很多同学包括一些优生都容易写错。

而有的同学由于没有养成良好的使用标点符号的习惯,往往一句话写完甚至是一篇文章写完了都看不到一个标点符号,使教师看不懂、读不懂。

5.在书写格式上存在的问题在书写格式上存在的问题主要是在写短文时易弄错。

比如,文章的首行应该空两格,很多学生就直接写顶格。

而在写书信时,称呼应该顶格写却没有。

还有,在写信吋不写前面的称呼或是后面的署名,或者两者都不写。

有的文章要求写标题他们又不写。

诸如此类的问题很多很多。

针对以上种种问题,在评改作文时,笔者经常会给出以下的评语:Wonderful handwriting!Glad to see your important handwriting!I’m expecting clearer/more beautiful handwriting from you next time.You’d better pay more attention to word order.I’m expecting greater progress from you in writing, come on!If you write more carefully, you’ll get better handwriting.当然,在初始阶段学生是看不懂此类评价语的,因此开始时先用中文写, 慢慢转变成中英文各一句,再逐渐只标注一些重点词汇,然后逐步去掉中文。

如果学生仍然看不懂,可以建议他们查字典,或请教教师和同学,相信经过一阶段的尝试,这种评价方式会被学生所接受和喜爱的。

二、书写内容是否具体、全面在日常教学中,书面表达我们往往采取如下评分标准:按学生所写内容和所用语言确定档次(内容分和语言分各占一半)。

且第一档(13-15)的标准是:完全完成试题规定的任务。

它包括两点:(1)、信息全;(2)、语言可读性,语言结构基本正确,有少量错误。

可见,考试要获得高分,除了语言、语句通顺、无错误外,还要覆盖所有显而易见的内容,并构思次重点,并尽量不写无关内容。

因此,当学生的作文涵盖所有内容时,教师定要适时送上几句:Well done! Beautiful! Wonderful!Glad to see the all points in your composition!All the points have been covered, great!You’re careful of all the points.但有些学生看到作文题目后急于动笔,往往忽略了题目要求,以致所写内容有所疏漏。

针对这样的作文,教师可以这样写:lt’s a pity that you’ve forgot some details・If you pay more attention to the requirements, you’ll do better!Be careful of the all details!Don’t forget the all details・You’ve forget something, be careful!Pay attention to the details that I circled.当这些句子在文章中岀现的频率增多吋,学生在今后的写作中或多或少会注意到题目的要求和细节的。

三、词句运用是否优美俗话说:无词不成句,无句不成文。

“词”是基础,“句”是过渡或桥梁,而“文”才是最终的目的。

在初中英语写作中,学生的作文往往词语匮乏,平淡无奇,更别说句子独具特色了。

以下是笔者学生作文中的其中一段:Different people like doing different sports. I like playing tennis. Mary likes running. Tom likes playing soccer. But my friend Ted likes swimming...对于出现以上问题,教师可以这样进行评价:Do you like the word “like” very much?Is like your friend?Cany ou use “enjoy, love” to take the place of “like” ?Why don’t you use “love” or "enjoy” ?在如此作文包围下,如果偶尔出现几篇带有优美、地道表达的作文,笔者会大加赞赏,有时更会带着“放大镜”去寻找作文中的“可取之处”,挖掘他们的闪光点,并及吋进行肯定和鼓励。

这吋,教师可以在原文中用醒目的符号标出好词好句,或在句尾统一标注赞美性的符号[如E(Excellent)]或标识不同星级等。

例如:For him, 300 yuan a month can’t cover the basic needs such as food and clothing.A good idea suddenly struck him.Then came a bus.或给予如下评语:What a wonderful sentence using “ cover"!It’s really clever of you to use this beautiful sentence.You can use the sentence "An apple a day, doctor away: that’s great!四、文章是否有段落层次之分段落是由一组共同表达一个中心思想的许多句子组合而成。

它既是一篇文章的组成部分,又是一个自成一体、相对独立的整体。

有经验的作家能写出美丽的文字,同时也能合理地安排段落,使自己妙笔生花。

一篇文章的段落般分为引导段、主题段和结尾段。

每段的主题句非常重要,是作者思维的起点,切题的准绳,阐述的对象。

看到段落主题句,读者大致了解段落要阐述的内容。

可见,主题句的撰写尤为重要。

但现在好多学生的书面表达都是一段呵成的,既没有段落之分,也没有主题句可寻,着实让老师看得云里雾里。

在这样的作文影响下, 如果出现一两篇段落清处、层次分明的文章,教师就会觉得眼前一亮。
