It’s hard to cling to that belief today. Recent research has shown that there are biological differences between boys and girls. Understanding these differences is important in raising and educating children. For example, girls are born with more sensitive hearing than boys, and the difference increases as kids grow up. So when a grown man speaks to a girl in what he thinks is a normal voice, she may hear it as yelling. Conversely (反过来), boys who appear to be inattentive in class may just be sitting too far away too hear the teacher.Likewise, girls are better in their expression of feelings. Studies reveal that negative emotions are seated in an area of the brain called the amygdala. Girls develop all early connection between this area and the cerebral cortex (大脑皮层), enabling them to talk about their feelings. In boys these links develop later. So if you ask a troubled adolescent boy to tell you what his feelings are, he often cannot say much.Dr. Sax, an advocate of single-sex education, points out that keeping boys and girls separate in the classroom has yielded striking educational, social, and interpersonal benefits. Therefore, parents and teachers should try to recognize, understand, and make use of the biological differences that make a girl a girl, and a boy a boy.67.What is the main idea of the passage?A. Boys tend to pay less attention in class than girls.B. Girls are better than boys in their ability to detect sounds.C. Single-sex schools are not good because they keep boys and girls separate.D. Boys and girls behave differently because of biological differences.68.Why do girls express negative feelings better than boys?A. Girls are more emotional than boys.B. The links between certain parts of the brain develop earlier in girls than in boys.C. The amygdala is located in different areas of the brain for boys and girls.D. Girls have more brain cells than boys.69.Which of the following does the author believe?A. Boys and girls should be educated in different ways.B. Girls need more training in munication.C. Parents should pay more attention to boys.D. Sex differences should be ignored in education。

Introducing electric vehicles (EVs) and reducing gasoline use are helping, but zerocarbon hydrogen can speed up both the transition (转变) and longterm decarbonization of transport. In the US, transportation produces the largest share of all greenhouse gas emissions (排放) in the economy at 29%, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. More than 90% of transport fuel is petrolbased, but if more vehicles used hydrogen, emissions of this kind would plummet. However, hydrogen is not considered an ideal replacement for gasoline as an engine fuel for cars because it is harder to store safely. And while fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) that turnhydrogen into electricity can pete with EVs in performance—and even outpete them on the range and refill time, extra energy is needed to produce the hydrogen needed for fuel. Also, finding investment for storage, pipelines and fuel stations is still a challenge for many nations.Currently, governments worldwide are backing green hydrogen projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in heavy industries like freight (货运), steel, and energy storage. But hydrogen transport will need rapid production methods to create the fuel needed for the world's road fleet.Thankfully, research is advancing all the time. Nanoscale (纳米的) thin films are applied to improving the chemical process to rapidly harvest hydrogen from the sea water. The same technology has been successfully used in solar power devices. Since hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe and as sea water makes up about 96% of all water on Earth, there is a virtually limitless supply.Even wastewater and solid waste can create green hydrogen. Researchers at Princeton University are using sunlight to separate hydrogen from industrial wastewater. Chemical plants that currently face high costs for cleaning wastewater could transform it into clean hydrogen supplies.4.What does the underlined word “plummet” mean in Paragraph 2?A.Stop. We had not seen rain in almost a month. The crops were dying. Cows had stopped giving milk. The streams were long gone back into the earth. If we didn't see any rain soon we would lose everything. It wa son that day that I learned the true lesson of sharing and witnessed the only miracle I have seen in my life.I was in the kitchen making lunch for my husband and his brothers when I saw my six-year old son. Billy, walking toward the woods. I could only see his back. He wasn't walking in his usual way. He was obviously walking with a great effort, trying to be as still as possible. Minutes after he disappeared into the woods, he came running out again, toward the house. I went back to making sandwiches, thinking that whatever he had been doing was completed. Moments later, however, he was once again walking in that unusual way toward the woods. This activity went on fbr over an hour: walking cautiously to the woods, (hen running back lo the house. Finally, my curiosity got the best of me. I crept out of the house and followed him on his journey. He was cupping both hands in front of him as he walked; being very careful not to spill the water he carried. I followed him secretly as he went into the woods. Branches and thorns(®J) slapped his little face but he did not try to avoid them. He might have a much greater purpose, I thought. As 1 leaned in to spy on him, I saw the most amazing sight. Several large deer appeared threatening in front of him. But Billy walked right up to them, at the sight of which I almost screamed for him to get away. A hugebuck(雄鹿)was dangerously close. But the buck didn't threaten him noreven move as Billy knelt down. And then I saw a baby deer lying on the ground, obviously suffering from thirst and heat, lift its head with great effort to lap (舔)up the water cupped in my beautiful boy's hands.
