First and foremost, I would like to say that I am enthusiastic about the movie.I have watched many classical films so far, and Forrest Gump is one of my favorite movies. The actor playing the Gump who impressed me is Tom Hanks, not merely because his outstanding acting, but also his sincerely interpretation for the role, It touched me very much. Therefore I try to know more about the information of Tom hanks; he is really a great actor. He had won the Academy award of best actor for twice, one of them was by the role of Forrest Gump, and another one was Philadelphia. And then I was curiosity about the Philadelphia, and experience the classic of it. In this term, I realize the Philadelphia is one unit of the course, so I need to understand it very deeply. Now I finish it, but the result is surprise for me.I can’t describe this movie in words, but it is no doubt that the movie is a classic. I admit that I’m not interested in th is film when I watched it in the beginning, but after I finished I realize it is rare. Next I will talk about my reflection about the Philadelphia. Before I watched this movie, I have a fear of AIDS. I can’t image that this sort of thing would happen to me, even if my friend unfortunately suffered from this disease, I would be panic. Like most of us, there are full of fear and rejection to the homosexuality and AIDS in Joe (the role of Philadelphia)’s mind in the beginning. But what is so unbelievable is that he accepted helping Andrew to go to court which is about his dignity. However, what is the exact reason to let him make such a significant decision?By his wife’s guidance and persuasion to the homosex ual, he had changed his mind and had some different understanding to this special group. When he knew the condition of Andrew, he felt deeply pity and compunctious. And then He made the decision to help Andrew win back his dignity, though the process would be very hard. During this period, black Joe suffered many setbacks, for instance, his friends laughed his “stupid decision”, and he was mistakenly assumed to be a gay, etc. These series of difficulty for Joe and Andrew is not only the pressure, but also a huge challenge. Joe began to understand the gay community deeply and collected the laws and regulations about AIDS and homosexual groups. In court, he tried his best to help Andrew regaining his rights in convincing speak.Additionally, when it comes to the fragments of court, I think it is one of the remarkable parts in this movie. Regardless of the final result, the debate words between the defendants and plaintiff are all brilliant. Otherwise, we can know the law in America is extremely sound from the film, especially behave in jury. According to my survey, the role of the jury is described as that of a finder of fact, while the judge is seen as having the sole responsibility of interpreting the appropriate law and instructing the jury accordingly. The jury determines the truth or falsity factual allegations and renders a verdict on whether a criminal defendant is guilty, or a civil defendant is civilly liable. The most important is that jury did not know the defendants and plaintiff before opening a court session. Consequently, their decision should be indifferent and objective. Thejury was a symbol of the attitude of American society that whether or not homosexual and AIDS can be accepted, because the jury symbolizes the entire American. On the basis of this movie, it just stresses the importance of human rights in this theme. In USA, No matter what your nationality are, whether or not you disabled or what your sexual orientation are, you are entitled to equal rights with ordinary people! Each people is born equal. Even if someone has AIDS, he or she still has the right to protect his legitimate rights and interests. Anyone who is in the society, no matter how power he or she is, he or she still has no right to dismiss the one suffering from AIDS. That is the law. There is also another sensitive topic in the film. That is homosexuality. People cannot forgive Andrew not only because he is suffering from AIDS, but also he is a homosexuality. People cannot accept the question that about sexual orientation. Although someone thinks that people have the right to choose their own partner. That is a private question. In fact, we are social beings and we are inevitably constrained by society and controlled by the society. That is the truth. It is a powerful social force that is invisible. What is more, it is difficult to challenge the morality. It always accepts people to accept the existing rules and accustomed to the behavior of ideology. Anyone who wants to challenge it will pay the price. Maybe the open and civilized society is still not to ready to accept the issue. The gays and the AIDS are living in the dark. In addition, people watch them with colored glasses. The words that saidto them are full of despised and hated. We can not put our will to the others, because anyone has the right to think free. After all, it is a sexual orientation challenges that has thousands of years. Even for today, this is a serious and complex issue. But if want to live harmonious, we must live in love. Eventually, Life is very important for everyone. As a member of society, we should take responsibility for not only ourselves but also others. We should not do harm to others whenever and wherever. If everyone cares for others, our world will be full of love and become more beautiful. In our daily life, we have lots of chance to care for others, such as: help your classmates with their study, help the old people to cross the road, help you parents do some housework, donate money to the poor etc. You will feel happy if you try your best to care for others. And others will care you more instead.。

<Philadelphia>——homosexual discrimination When it comes to homosexuals, people always feel sick and disgusted .To be honest, before I watched the film <Philadelphia>, I had been exactly one of them who can not stand homosexuals, considering them as shame and evil, let alone understanding their love. It is the film Philadelphia that converts my view on another kind of love between two persons.Philadelphia tells a story that an excellent lawyer called Andrew is dismissed by his boss, because they find he is infected with AIDS, and think it is a great shame for their company that he is a homosexual. Sad and disappointed, Andrew makes great efforts to seek for another lawyer to plead for him, fails and fails again, finally Joe, as eloquent as him, agrees to help him. I feel that there are three extraordinary parts in this film. One is the debate in the court, another is the homosexual ball, and the rest is the final occasion. In the court, Andrew faces with a group of people talking about his private affairs, tearing his old scar, and some ignorant people force him to nowhere by their lies and their law. In this case, Andrew says ‘I love the law. I know the law. I excel at the practicing’ and ‘Relief, that I never told him that I was a gay, just very relief’, not loudly but firmly. I can see the sadness and despair in his eyes, how desperate on earth he is! I just can not stop crying. If I were him, what did I do? Maybe forget the job, the case and find a hole to hide in. I deeply respect him as a strongman. At the same time, he is vulnerable, the grief in his eyes makes people want to protect him, comfort him. And the deep grief is shown before our eyes when Andrew listen to the opera called <La mamma morta>, the music flows into his heart as well as my heart. I can feel that my heart is trembling, and I can not merely sit on my seat, it is a shout of soul. A broken heart, a broken soul. His performance so shocked me that I know there is something changed, I start to abandon my old prejudice and rethink the love between the homosexuals. The nature of the homosexual love is love to o ——the most wonderful, pleasant, strangest and greatest emotion. Everyone has the right to love in whatever form. We can not scold one just because he or she loves one person who has the same sex as them. If you disagree, then how about the love? Love is absolutely fair and equal. The love between two same sex persons is the same as that between two different sex persons, which means caring for and sacrificing for each other. The love is identical, having nothing with race, country, age, wealth, and also sex. So there is nothing they do wrong, it is just love which is not wrong or right. At the end of the film, Andrew finally wins the case, but to my sadness, he is heavily ill and going to die. Ling in the bed, his family and friends come to him, smile and say ’see you tomorrow’. Everyone knows that there is no tomorrow for Andrew, so does he. But he is calm, and there is no regret for him because the most terrible thing in his life was coped with. At the end of the end, he says ‘I am ready.’ The simplest and the last word. I want to tell those people who discriminate homosexuals that our mothers give birth to us, we have the same beginning, maybe after that we walk on different roads, but we should not and have no right to make jokes of others or even discriminate them, no mater what it is, just because they are different from you, because when you do this, there may be someone do the same things to you, how do you think about that? So if you can not understand others’ choices, behaviors, opinions, things like that, please try to respect them and their rights. Otherwise at the end of life, you will understand how stupid you are, and thoroughly know nothing is important, we have the same destin y——die!。

PhiladelphiaThe movie Philadelphia reflects some social problems by combining AIDS and homosexuality together, which draws people’s attention on homosexual and makes people introspect in what ways they should treat homosexuals. Instead of calling upo n people’s sympathy to homosexuals, I think the purpose of the film is to criticize people for their injustice and discrimination to homosexuals. At the beginning of the film, Andy conceals his illness and sex orientation, working as an ordinary person in the law company. Because of his excellent work, he receives appreciation of his bosses. Maybe in this period, Andy is looking forward to his wonderful future. What he doesn’t expect is that he gets fired ruthlessly after his secret is disclosed. The most frustrating part is that when he tries to protect his rights, all he receives is discrimination, and even lawyers, whose task is to safeguard the rights and interests of people, shows indifference to him. When he gets into library to look up some books related to HIV-discrimination, he is asked to go to a private research room by the librarian for the sake of avoiding spreading the virus to other people. At this moment, Andy’s eyes fills with tears; he must be heartbroken. At that time in America, AIDS is viewed as much more than a transmissible and lethal disease and homosexuality is considered as an unreasonable and disgusting thing.Nowadays, homosexuality is not unfamiliar to us, but sometimes people still can't accept this fact. Ordinary people won't interest in the same gender and they won't try to build a relationship beyond friendship with the same sex. Above all, homosexuality has nothing wrong with itself. Different people have different lifestyles including homosexuals. They do have families, friends and contribute to our society. We should respect them rather than discriminating them.。

费城故事观后感英文150

费城故事观后感英文150After watching the movie "Philadelphia", I was deeply moved and couldn't help but reflect on the powerful message it delivered. Set in the vibrant city of Philadelphia, the film tells the story of Andrew Beckett, a talented lawyer who is diagnosed with AIDS and subsequently fired from his law firm due to discrimination. Directed by Jonathan Demme, this emotional drama sheds light on discrimination, stigmatization, and the struggle for justice and acceptance. The movie portrays Andrew Beckett, played convincingly by Tom Hanks, as a brilliant and ambitious lawyer who is dedicated to his work. However, after his diagnosis, things take a dramatic turn as he faces discrimination in the workplace. The film raises important questions about societal attitudes towards individuals with AIDS and the prejudices they face. The theme of discrimination is skillfully tackled throughout the movie. Andrew's dismissal from the law firm, under the pretext of incompetence, is a clear example of the stigma associated with AIDS during that era. The fear and ignorance surrounding the disease led to a complete disregard for a person's abilities and worth solely based on their health condition. This blatant discrimination is both disturbing and enlightening, exposing the harsh reality faced by many in similar situations. Moreover, the film also explores Andrew's personal journey as he battles the physical and emotional toll of AIDS. His determination to fight for justice while facing his deteriorating health is truly inspiring. The character's resilience and unwavering spirit serve as a reminder of the strength and courage exhibited by individuals confronting adversity. The relationship between Andrew and his attorney, Joe Miller, played by Denzel Washington, is the heart of the film. Initially reluctant to take on Andrew's case due to his own prejudices, Joe gradually becomes more empathetic as he witnesses the injustice and prejudice faced by his client. Their evolving friendship highlights the transformative power of understanding and compassion in overcoming societal barriers.Philadelphia's cinematography also plays a significant role in conveying the emotional depth of the story. The city itself serves as a backdrop, capturing the essence of the characters' struggle against the backdrop of a bustling metropolis. The somber lighting and muted color palette reflect the seriousness and intensity of the movie's themes, further emphasizing the emotional impact of the narrative. The film's soundtrack is another noteworthy aspect, with iconic songs like Bruce Springsteen's "Streets of Philadelphia" perfectly complementing the story's poignant moments. The lyrics resonate with the overarching themes of isolation, longing, and the search for redemption. The music adds an additional layer of emotional depth, creating a truly immersive experience for the audience. In conclusion, "Philadelphia" is a thought-provoking and emotionally charged film that confronts issues of discrimination and prejudice head-on. Through its powerful storytelling and compelling performances, it sheds light on the struggles faced by individuals with AIDS and the importance of acceptance and understanding. The movie serves as a poignant reminder of the progress made in the fight against discrimination, while also highlightingthe ongoing battle for equality. It is a film that leaves a lasting impact and encourages viewers to challenge their own prejudices.。

This week I saw a film named Philadelphia. The film reflects public attitude towards a social problem---AIDS. The main character Andrew Beckett has left me a deep impression and I really want to say something about him.Andrew is an excellent lawyer who works very hard and a bright future. He is a gay, but he doesn’t tell his boss about this. After the secret that he has AIDS is found by his boss, he is fired in the name of losing an important document. Andrew calls on many lawyers, hoping that they can accept and hear the case. Finally, Joe Miller agrees to be his lawyer. They two fight together and overcome many difficulties. Andrew finally wins the lawsuit and dies peacefully. When he is dying, he says, “I’m ready.”In my opinion, Andrew is a man with great courage. In the first place, when he suffers unfair treatment, he dares to fight against no matter how difficult it is. The real reason why he is fired is that his boss can’t accept him as a gay as well as an AIDS patient. However, he doesn’t think he has done anything wrong and he has the right to choose whom to love, regardlessof gender. In the second place, he doesn’t show his pain even when he is badly ill. He struggles to appear in court and go on with the fierce court debate. People don’t know how much he suffers until Miller lets him take off his clothes. The scars on his body show how cruel AIDS torments him. Painful though he is, he still pretends to be well and fights for his rights, which really needs great courage.Andrew, as a gay, may be discriminated by some people; however, as a fighter, he should be respected by all of us.。

The story of Philadelphia
Philadelphia was a city filled with love, and the story about homosexuality and AIDS happened in this city.
The name of the leading actor is Andrew, who is acted by Tom Hanks, and he has ever acted Forrest Gump. Andy was an excellent lawyer in a high-grade law firm. And he was prompted and authorized an important case. He paid his effort to prepare the case for nine days. After his effort, he finished the compliant of the case in the tenth day, but the compliant strangely disappeared and it appeared until the last moment. Although he won the case but he was fired due to his incompetence,
but in fact, one of the partners found some lesions on his forehead which was the sigh of AIDS. The partners were afraid to be infected, so they found an excuse to frame Andrew and fire him.
Andrew knew the reason why he was fired, he wanted to be treated fair and not be discriminated because of his AIDS.
So he tried his best to find lawyer to defend him, but no one wanted to help him. Joe was the tenth lawyer he found. When Andrew mentioned his AIDS, at the beginning, Joe was also afraid to be infected, and he also hated Andrew’s sexual orientation. Andrew is a gay, and he has his boyfriend, migul. He refused to help Andrew. But one day, in a library, Joe noticed Andrew trying to find proof to defend for himself. Joe was moved by Andrew, and he determined to help Andrew. The two excellent counselors worked together to search the law
documentary to find proof. They met many difficulties. On the one hand, Andrew suffered physical pain, to make matter worse; Andrew’s private life is exploited before the public, such his homosexual, his AID. But he didn’t afraid anything, he just wants to eliminate the discrimination with AIDS and homosexuality. In the process, Joe gradually understood the homosexuality, and eliminated his prejudice and wanted to fight for the homosexual’s rights.
After conquered many difficulties, they won the case and got a large sum of settlement. But when Joe went to the hospital to tell Andrew the good news, Andrew was going to die. Andrew used his weak voice appreciate his thanks to Joe. At that moment, they understand each other, both of them are the fighters for justice.
Fortunately, Andrew’s boyfriend, migul, accompanied Andrew all the time
until the last moment. It showed the grateful love of homosexuality, whatever the problem they met, they never get off another’s hands.
Andrew’s words impressed me, he said, “It’s every now and again not often but occasional, you get to be a part of justice being done, that’s really quite thrill when that happens.” it make me feel the power of justice. The most impressed part of the film is that, Andrew’s family support Andrew fight for his rights. It reminds me to think about the two questions, the homosexuality and AIDS. I have never discriminated the AIDS patient, but I show a little uncomfortable of homosexuality. And now I know more about the problem, and I change my opinion. The gay should be allowed, should be treated fair and should be blessed. Because no matter when, there is nothing wrong with love, and loving
somebody who has the same sex with you isn’t an error. So we should give more tolerance to them, and make them feel more comfortable to love and to be loved.
The film ends up with a song, and the song tells us Philadelphia is a country filled with love, and it is the place where the Declaration of Independence is published。

And the Philadelphian can easily tolerate differences. So this is the beautiful story happened in this beautiful country, and this is the film--- The story of Philadelphia.
