背景分析中国会计准则规定，对存货的核算必须采用历史成本法，即实际成本法，如果企业采用计划成本法，例如标准成本进行日常核算，应当在月末结算成本差异，或将计划成本调整为实际成本。
为了满足中国的会计准则，在传统的手工帐时代，人们更倾向采用“加权平均法”计算物料实际成本，即在物料发生业务时会计不做账，原因是不了解物料当时的实际成本，当月末收到发票后，才进行计算并补齐整月的凭证。
先不谈这种方式工作量如何，单从它的效果来看，个人认为，这种结算方式并没有真正的体现出财务管理的思想，只是机械的迎合会计准则的需要及自身条件的约束。
管理学认为，对企业财务的控制应当分为事前计划，事中控制及事后分析，而单一的事后核算对企业现代化发展，毫无帮助。
所以，采用标准成本法对物料进行管理，成为当今社会的主流。
在SAP系统中，如果物料的价格控制方式为标准价，当采购价与标准价不一致时，系统会自动生产材料采购差异，这部分差异通常我们会在月末时，将其分摊至销售成本或库存中。
但事实上我们并不能够知道每种物料的实际成本，因为分摊至库存的那部分差异并没有与物料相对应。
如何满足企业精益生产（JIT）的需求？如何在SAP中计算出库存物料的实际成本？如何才能将材料采购差异，分摊至每一种物料？带着这三个问题，我们进入下一阶段的讲述。
启用物料分类帐的前提对于采购差异的处理，SAP提供了多种解决方案，下面，我们将对比不同的处理方式，从而明确启用物料分类帐的前提。
采购进行发票校验时产生的会计凭证：当采购发票价与标准价的不一致，产生了材料采购差异，这部分差异在月末订单结算时，会根据产成品的销售情况，分别计入销售成本及库存商品中，我们可能采取的措施有以下几种。

Shipping Point Determination
• Shipping point is a SAP organizational unit that performs shipping process. It is responsible for the type of shipping, the necessary shipping materials and the means of transport. During delivery processing, the shipping point is the most important criterion that is use to select deliveries. • Shipping point is predefined based on different combination of – Plants – Shipping conditions from ship-to customer – Loading groups • There are TE enhancement controls to override shipping point (ZVSHIPPT)
• Route means the shipping distance between a beginning point and an end point. It is by which the delivery goods are to be delivered to the customer. • Route is predefined dependant on – Where the delivery comes from (Country & Zone of Shipping point) – Where the delivery goes to (County & Zone of Ship-to party) – Under what condition the delivery is to take place (Shipping Condition) – Transportation group • Route determination can cater for the weight of delivered goods (weight group), but not really used in TE template • Manual route override at order item can be done in “Additional Data B”, which will not trigger ATP check
• Plant is a place where materials are produced, or goods and services are provided. Particularly in SD, a delivery plant is a plant from which the goods are shipped to the customer • In SAP, plant in sales order header, if maintained, will be automatically copied to order items as the default value. • However, if it is not maintained, the value proposed for an order item is either – from DDP in ship-to customer master record, or – from DDP in material master record • There are TE enhancement control to override plant settings in all above (ZTAS). Warning msg will be prompted.

• Storage location means the location where the material is stored. A plant may contain one or more storage locations. In terms of outbound shipping, it is referred to Picking Location. • Picking/Storage Location is assigned to the combination of shipping point and storage condition for each plant. • There are TE enhancement controls to override storage location together with shipping point (ZVSHIPPT).

Delivery Scorecard Considerations
• DSCD measures are generally done in TED. ADR43 procedure picks up backlogs, shipments and adjustments to feed TED in daily basis. Various order on-hold / releasing and shipping information passed to TED therefore. • Original Request Ship Date vs Actual Ship Date will be compared to measure RTS; Original Confirm Ship Date vs Actual Ship Date will be compared to measure STS. • If an order item is expedited, expedited request ship date will be used • Weekends and holidays is considered. However, factory calendar needs to be update in TED • There are build-in logics to eliminate impact of delays due to customer • More details could be found in /dscd/help/dscdhelp.htm
