钱学森,作为为新中国成长做出无可估量贡献的老一辈科学家团体中影响最大、功勋最为卓著的杰出代表人物,他是新中国爱国留学归国人员中最具代表性的国家建设者,是新中国历史上享有崇高威望的人民科学家。

钱学森,1911年12月出生于上海,祖籍浙江杭州。

从1923年进入北京师范大学附属中学开始,他就立下了要用所学的科技知识报效国家志向。

1929年,他考入上海交通大学机械工程系学习机车制造专业,后来,受到淞沪抗战中中国军队航空力量太弱的刺激,他决心改变自己的专业方向,努力掌握飞机制造的尖端技术。

1934年,钱学森考取清华大学公费留学生,次年9月进入美国麻省理工学院航空系学习,两年后,他转入美国加州理工学院航空系,师从世界著名空气动力学教授冯·卡门,先后获得航空工程硕士学位和航空、数学博士学位。

1938年至1955年,钱学森在美国从事空气动力学、固体力学和火箭、导弹等领域研究,并与导师共同完成高速空气动力学问题研究课题和建立“卡门-钱近似”公式,在28岁时就成为世界知名的空气动力学家。

尽管在美国有着优厚的工作和生活待遇,然而,功成名就的钱学森却始终关心着祖国的发展。

1955年10月,钱学森终于冲破种种阻力回到祖国。

回国后,他和钱伟长合作筹建中国科学院力学研究所,并出任该所首任所长。

不久后,他就全面投入到中国的火箭和导弹研制的工作。

1956年初,钱学森向中共中央、国务院提出《建立我国国防航空工业的意见书》。

在《意见书》中,他对发展我国的导弹事业提出了长远规划。

同年,国务院、中央军委根据他的建议,成立了导弹、航空科学研究的领导机构——航空工业委员会,并任命他为委员。

也在这一年,钱学森受命组建中国第一个火箭、导弹研究机构——国防部第五研究院并担任首任院长。

从那时开始,钱学森长期担任火箭导弹和航天器研制的技术领导职务,以他在总体、动力、制导、气动力、结构、材料、计算机、质量控制和科技管理等领域的丰富知识,对中国火箭、导弹和航天事业的发展作出了重大贡献,赢得了“中国航天之父”的美誉。

他主持完成了“喷气和火箭技术的建立”规划,参与了近程导弹、中近程导弹和中国第一颗人造地球卫星的研制,直接领导了用中近程导弹运载原子弹的“两弹结合”试验,参与制订了中国第一个星际航空的发展规划,发展建立了工程控制论和系统学等。

钱学森是举世公认的人类航天科技的重要开创者和主要奠基人之一,是工程控制论的创始人,是20世纪应用数学和应用力学领域的领袖人物,被称为中国近代力学和系统工程理论与应用研究的奠基人。

他在空气动力学、航空工程、喷气推进、工程控制论、物理力学等技术科学领域作出了开创性贡献, 著有《工程控制论》、《论系统工程》、《星际航行概论》等。

钱学森是中国科学院院士、中国工程院院士,曾获中科院自然科学奖一等奖、国家科技进步奖特等奖、小罗克韦尔奖章和世界级科学与工程名人称号,被国务院、中央军委授予“国家杰出贡献科学家”荣誉称号,获中共中央、国务院、中央军委颁发的“两弹一星”功勋奖章。

在毕生实践着科学报国信念的奋斗历程中,钱学森淡泊名利,人品高洁,充分展现出一位科学大师的高尚风范。

他说:“我作为一名中国的科技工作者,活着的目的就是要为人民服务。

如果人民最后对我一生所做的工作表示满意的话,那才是对我最高的奖赏。


2009年10月31日,这位被誉为人民科学家的科学巨擘走完98年的人生历程,溘然长逝。

2009年9月10日,在中央宣传部、中央组织部、中央统战部、中央文献研究室、中央党史研究室、民政部、人力资源社会保障部、全国总工会、共青团中央、全国妇联、解放军总政治部等11个部门联合组织的“100位为新中国
成立作出突出贡献的英雄模范人物和100位新中国成立以来感动中国人物”评选活动中,钱学森被评为“100位新中国成立以来感动中国人物”。
