2021年，江西省的中考将会发生不小的变化。
比如说，名称变了，以前是“江西省中等学校招生考试”，从2021年开始，叫作“江西省初中学业水平考试”（据此推断，2021年的考试总体难度将发生相应的变化）；再比如，考试科目和分值发生了变化。
以英语为例，虽然总分没有变，仍然是120分，但听力分值由以前的27分调整为20分。
命题原则
江西省中考英语书面表达的命题原则是依据教育部颁发的《义务教育英语课程标准》（2011 年版）来确定考查的内容和标准，重在考查学生在特定情景中综合运用语言进行书面表达的能力，充分考虑学生的实际生活和身心发展水平（城乡学生都熟悉的话题）、根据语言的实际使用情形命题。
