<<Why Are Plants Important? >>教学设计【教材依据】本节教学设计来自于冀教版第四册书第二单元Plant a plant!第8课《Why Are Plants Important?》.本单元围绕植物和园艺这一话题展开教学。
课本先从Li Ming ,Wang Mei 和工人植树开始，要求学生了解植树的常用语和植树的作用，接着详细介绍了植物的重要性，园艺，打理花园，奇异的植物和丹尼自己种植的植物。
本课是本单元的第二课，在本单元起着承上启下的关键作用！并且也为本册书第8 单元Save Our World环境保护主题奠定了坚实的学习基础！更是我们中考练习环保话题写作的上好素材！一、设计思路1、指导思想。
本节课是继介绍植树的步骤后教材安排学习研究的第二个内容：植物的重要性。
在设计本课教学时注重面向全体学生，关注语言学习者的不同特点和个人差异，主要落实“1.听：在听录音时有目的地获取所需关键信息。
（clean; ways & without） 2.读：①泛读：快速浏览文章，根据Let’s Do It!No.1习题中提供的9个句子迅速找出文章中提到的植物的重要性相关语句！②精读：根据Let’s Do It! No.1中提供的9个有关于介绍植物重要性的语句对植物的重要性从4个方面（Food or medicine; Shelter; Clothing and school things& Environment）做个归类，从而完成Let’s Do It! No.3的习题。
③细读：仔细阅读对话内容，根据提供的单词完成介绍植物重要性的短片，完成Let’s Do It! No.2的习题.3.说：根据教师所提供的思维导图及多媒体展示的图片，学生能用自己话阐述植物的重要性。
4.写：通过本课的学习，要求学生课后写一篇介绍植物重要性的文章作为练笔。
从语言技能听，说，读，写四个方面全面突破理解植物的重要性。
根据思维导图及多媒体图片，直观形象的向学生归纳总结展示植物在食品，药材；居所；衣物，学校物品及环境四个方面的用途，进而强化学生对于植物重要性的深层次记忆及理解的课程标准要求。
从教材结构看，本节课是第7课Planting Trees的延伸，又为本册书第8单元Save Our World环境保护主题奠定了坚实的学习基础，具有承上启下的关键作用，也为中考练习环保话题写作提供了极好的素材！本节课安排在“Planting Trees”之后学习，使知识更系统，降低了学习难度，一方面，通过本节课的学习，加深了学生对植物重要性的认识和理解，使学生掌握植物在不同的方面对生活的影响，为接下来的园艺话题，打理花园话题及自然界存在的奇异的植物埋下伏笔。
另一方面培养学生听，说，读，写的能力，并借助呈现思维导图指导学生学会用自己的话来介绍植物的重要性，提高学生的英语口语表达能力。
另外根据新课程标准的基本理念：面向全体学生，关注语言学习者的不同特点和个人差异。
关注学生的英语学习情况，全班59人，这一班学生是我从七年一手带上来的，这个班学生整体素质高，学习习惯好，经过近一年半的训练绝大多数学生已经很熟悉也很习惯我的上课流程及方式，并且能很好的与老师配合，在课堂上对于这些孩子多提供口语交际的机会，采用一对一或是一对多帮扶的方式在每堂课上说的环节，提供思维导图并指导孩子用自己的话去复述课文。
经过一年半时间的实践，借助思维导图简明的呈现课文核心内容，对于孩子们理解记忆文章提供了高效的记忆空间，越来越多的孩子也都能用自己的话复述文章了。
在此也实现了新课程标准课程基本理念，强调学习过程，重视语言学习的实践性和应用性。
但是也有近10名左右的学生由于小学基础薄弱，学习劲头不足等原因，在部分环节有困难，针对此现象，在各个环节都要有所调整和照顾，遇到容易的问题最大限度上鼓励这些孩子回答，帮助他们树立学好英语的信心，调动这部分学生的学习英语的积极性。
2、教学目标。
课程标准要求落实“1.掌握一些与介绍植物重要性有关的重点词汇：clean, cool, important, help, basic & beautiful。
2根据图片及思维导图，分析植物对人类，对动物及对环境的影响，了解植物的重要性并能用自己语言介绍植物的重要性”分步实施【知识与能力】Master the following key word: basicMaster the following key phrases: It’s pleasant to do…, take energy from…, in a wordHelp the students learn about how to introduce the importance of plants 【方法与途径】Lead-in ---- Group work----Results show----Summary----Practice【情感与评价】Develop the students’consciousness of protecting environment【现代教学手段】Audiotape , pictures & ppt.3、教学重点与难点。
【教学重点】Master some vocabularies and phrases related to introduce the importance of plants【教学难点】Arouse the students’ interest to introd uce the importance of plants in their own words本节课的重点是学习植物的重要性，所以设置一些介绍植物重要性的词汇：clean, cool, important, help, basic & beautiful作为本课学习的重点，有助于学生理解植物的重要性，也为学生讲述植物的重要性提供了理论基础。
本课的难点是通过学习植物的重要性引导学生用自己的话介绍植物的重要性，目的是通过学生的语言，灵活的介绍植物的重要性，并遵循新课程理念强调学习过程，重视语言学习的实践性和应用性。
为了更好的帮助学生理解植物的重要性并达到用自己的语言叙述植物的重要性的目的，在授课过程中利用多媒体作为辅助工具，向学生呈现有关植物重要性的图片及思维导图，这样既帮助学生深入的理解植物的重要性，也帮助学生用自己的语言介绍植物的重要性。
二、教学准备教师准备：搜集人们在森林里漫步，坐在树荫下乘凉，植物净化空气，满足人们生活基本需求，为人类提供衣物和药物，防风固沙及美化环境的表达植物重要性的图片，并搜集雾霾，沙尘暴及洪水等课外资料以及迈克杰克逊的《Earth Song》视频资源，教师在研读课程标准、教材、教参的基础上制作精美、适用的课件，以便辅助教学，学案。
学生准备：1．复习植树的基本步骤。
2．课前预习本节课内容，能做到熟读课文并理解文章大意。
3．搜集有关于植物重要性的资料。
三、教学过程Step1:Lead-in教师：和学生们一起欢唱《The sun is rising》,提议大家一起去爬山，同时出示课件图片对比阳光明媚的天气和雾霾天气，以及植物重要性的图片，引发学生质疑，1.雾霾天气能否爬山？2.如何能拥有蓝天白云的好天气？【设计意图】通过师生共同歌唱，拉近与孩子们的距离，调节课堂气氛，通过展示图片，学生能直观的理解本课主题：植物的重要性，激发了学生的好奇心，有利于新课的学习。
Step2: Group WorkTask1: Learning aims教师出示教学目标：【设计意图】让学生明确本节课的学习目标，在接下来的学习过程中有的放矢。
Task2:Listening (class work)教师设置听力材料，要求学生根据所听内容填空：1. With plants, the air will be _________ and fresh.2. People can use plants in many different _________.3. Nobody can live ______ plants.温馨提示：请大家先读题，听之前做到心中有数，并且不要看教材上的内容。
【设计意图】根据课标要求在听录音时能有目的地获取所需关键信息，通过听力环节的训练，有助于学生了解文章大意并且培养学生的听力能力。
Task3:Reading (Group work)A)泛读学生自主学习，快速浏览文章，根据Let’s Do It!No.1习题中提供的9个句子迅速找出文章中提到的植物的重要性相关语句。
【设计意图】培养学生快速阅读课文，有目的地获取所需内容的能力。
学生通过这个板块的学习能对文章大意有进一步的理解，实现了新课标语言技能中读的要求。
B）精读学生小组合作，根据Let’s Do It! No.1中提供的9个有关于介绍植物重要性的语句对植物的重要性从4个方面（Food or medicine; Shelter; Clothing and school things& Environment）做个归类，从而完成Let’s Do It! No.3的习题。
【设计意图】在听力及泛读板块的学习基础上，学生理解了文章大意，通过精读模块的训练，培养学生细读文章并且学会归纳总结的能力。
C）细读学生小组合作，仔细阅读对话内容，根据提供的单词完成介绍植物重要性的短片，完成Let’s Do It! No.2的习题【设计意图】培养学生的团队合作精神，共同解决难题。
通过再次细读文章，对文章的细节进一步推敲，达到对文章的深层次理解。
Task4:Speaking (Pair work)A)①两人一组，练习读课本上的对话，谈论植物的重要性。
②教师出示图片及思维导图（mind-map），要求学生两人一组，根据思维导图（mind-map）及图片，用自己的语言谈论植物的重要性。
B）教师出示雾霾，沙尘暴及洪水的照片，呼吁学生，我们要携手保护好我们唯一的地球。
【设计意图】根据新课标要求，英语教学要面向全体学生，关注语言学习者的不同特点和个性差异。
在说的环节设置两个任务，A组第一个任务简单，适合英语学困生，第二个任务具有挑战性，优秀生带着中等生谈论植物的重要性，B组任务延伸到课外，要求学生要具有发散性思维能力，将课程谈论植物的重要性推到要保护环境新的高度，在设置这个环节上，充分考虑了语言学习的渐进性和持续性，符合新课标基本理念。
Task5: Language points (Class work)引导学生看板书上的大树，回顾本课的知识点(clean the air, It’s pleasant to do, sit in the shade, be important to, fulfill our basic needs, take energy from, turn… into… ,cover the soil , carry the soil away, make everything look beautiful).【设计意图】通过听，读，说，环节的层层延伸，学生对这篇文章的理解到了一定的高度，最后通过展示大树词汇链又回归到课本上的知识。
