一、英语专业八级口试介绍
1.要求：《高等学校英语专业英语教学大纲》对英语专业高年级阶段的主要教学任务是：“学习英语专业知识和相关专业知识，进一步扩大知识面，增强对文化差异的敏感性，提高综合运用英语进行交际的能力。
”专八的口语考试就是为了检查考生的英语口语与口译水平是否达到了《大纲》规定的要求。
2．形式：录音口试。
3．时间和地点：全国英语专业八级录音口试的时间定于每年十二月中旬举行。
考试由考生所在高校的教务部门组织在语音室进行。
4．考试对象：英语专业四年级学生。
5．内容：
八级口试内容分三部分：
（1）英译中（Task I: Interpreting from English into Chinese.）
英译中所用的语音材料为外籍人士的谈话，涉及社会、政治或经济等方面的内容。
讲话长度为2至3分钟，约300词，其中需要翻译150词左右。
讲话的录音播放两遍。
第一遍播放讲话的全文，目的是让考生初步了解口译材料的背景和大致内容，此时考生不需要进行口译。
第二遍分段播放所需口译的内容。
考生可以边听边做笔记。
每段后有开始口译和停止口译的提示声。
（2）中译英（Task II: Interpreting from Chinese into English.）

讲话长度为2至3分钟，约400词，其中需要翻译200词左右。
该项考试方式和步骤与英译中相同。
（3）评论（Task III: Making a comment on a given topic.）
评论的内容一般与国内外社会、政治、经济、科技等方面的热点问题相关。
考试的要求以书面形式发给考生，考生准备4分钟，评论3分钟。
6．考试步骤：
口试整个过程大约持续25分钟。
口试开始前，考生首先用5分钟的时间阅读英文的口试指南（Guidelines for Examinees）。
学生看完指南后，负责监考的老师再用两分钟的时间将特别需要注意的地方重复一遍。
如向考生强调整个考试期间他们都不允许按动自己录音机上的任何一个键，考试内容都已经录在磁带上。
考试正式开始后，考生根据录音磁带上的要求依次完成三项任务。
录音的操作完全由监考老师控制。
7. 评分标准：
评分项目为5项：英译中能力、中译英能力、评论能力、语音语调及语法与词汇。
口试成绩分为优秀、良好、合格与不合格4个等级。
凡是成绩在合格（含合格）以上的学生均可以获得全国高等学校外语专业教学指导委员会颁发的证书。

二、英语专业八级口试指南及注意事项
英语专业八级口试采用在语言实验室中进行录音口试的方式。
考试要求与考题全部录在磁带上，录音机的开停，全部由电教人员控制。
考生只需根据录音磁带上的要求逐项完成任务。
考试结束后，所有磁带将寄到主考学校，统一进行评分。
考生进入语音实验室后必须注意以下问题：
1.不得擅自摆弄电教设备的任何开关。
2.核对好考号，确保磁带上的考号与考生的考号一致。
3.在考生听“考试指南”快结束时，发给考生第三项试题。
提醒考生不得提前拆开订好
的试题。
4.准备第三部分评论时不得和其他人讲话。
如违反上述要求，一律视为作弊行为。
5.按照录音磁带上的要求，逐项完成任务。
讲话时不要担心时间不够，将主要观点完
整表达出来，如果一句话没有讲完而时间到，不会影响口试成绩。
6.录音时，声音高低要适当控制。
如果声音太低，日后评分人员听不清，就会影响你
的口试成绩。
7.录音时一定要注意力集中，周围声音绝不会影响你的录音质量。
8.如果你在规定的时间未到之前完成了任务，此时你不必慌张，请安心等待下面一项
任务的要求。
