For thousands of years it has played an important part in curing disease and protecting the health of the Chinese people, thus contributing greatly to the growth and prosperity of China, as well as to the world-wide medical knowledge.Traditional Chinese medicine is based on its own theories and contains a unique system in itself. It holds that man and his natural environment form an organic whole; many diseases are linked with the environment. It also holds that the various parts of the human body form an organic whole. When one is ill, the whole body is affected, so that treatment should emphasize the physical condition of the individual as a whole. It is still today widely used by the Chinese people and the whole world people in treating diseases. It is an integral part of world civilization and a mon benefit for all mankind.Since the founding of New China, Chinese Government have attached great importance to traditional Chinese medicine and laid down a series of principles, policies and measures, aiming to develop traditional Chinese medicine, integrate it with Western medicine and modernize thetraditional Chinese medicine. It has progressed greatly over the past thirty years and more. Quite a number of Chinese medical workers have carried out studies on traditional Chinese medicine with modern scientific knowledge and methods. They have also used bined Chinese and western medical means in the treatment of a number of difficult and plicated cases, which have all shown satisfactory results. At the same time many researchers have studied the basic theories of traditional Chinese medicine such as yin and yang, theory of zang-fu, channels and collaterals, Qi and blood, the four diagnostic methods, the principles of qigong etc, with experimental research methods resulting in considerable progress. In recent years, more and more people are interested in traditional Chinese medicine. They would like to accept its treatment. They are interested in learning its knowledge and technique to treat patients and studying why it works. Traditional Chinese medicine as a subject has been added into teaching plan in different famous medical colleges. Traditional Chinese medicine clinics and schools are everywhere in the world and increased continuously every year. With the present development of traditional Chinese medicine, its integration with modern science and technology will surely enhance its contribution to human health.Step 4: Homework:plete the related exercises in Workbook.2019-2020年高中英语必修7Unit2RobotsTeaching aims:1.TopicLiterary work about science; robots; Science fiction writer – Isaac Asimov eful words and expressions:Fiction, cartoon, desire, satisfaction, absent, alarm, alarmed, smooth, embarrass, sympathy, elegant, pile, scan, fingernail, absurd, haircut, acpany, curtain, cushion, carpet, paint, awful, affair, firm, firmly, declare, victory, envy, marriage, biography, explanation, junior, navy, talent, chapter, divorce, obey, aside.Expressions: test out, ring up, turn around, leave … alone, set aside3.Functional items:Supposition and beliefI suppose….Supposing…You may easily suppose that …I suppose so.As is generally supposed…I believe…I’m convinced that…I have no doubt about it.I have great belief in…I don’t believe that…I wonder…GrammarRevise the infinitive重点复习动词不定式的被动形式: The passive infinitiveIt was going to be tested out by Larry’s wife, Claire.Claire thought it was ridiculous to be offered sympathy by a robot. How awful to be discovered by her, Claire thought. What a sweet victory to be envied by those women!Teaching proceduresPeriod 1 ReadingStep 1. Reading:Traditional Chinese MedicineTraditional Chinese medicine has a long history of 5000 thousand years. It is a summary of the experience of the laboring people over many centuries of struggle against disease. It is an integral part of world civilization and a common benefit for all mankind.Since the founding of New China, Chinese Government have attached great importance to traditional Chinese medicine and laid down a series of principles, policies and measures, aiming to develop traditional Chinese medicine, integrate it with Western medicine and modernize the traditional Chinese medicine. It has progressed greatly over the past thirty years and more. Quite a number of Chinese medical workers have carried out studies on traditional Chinese medicine with modern scientific knowledge and methods. They have also used combined Chinese and western medical means in the treatment of a number of difficult and complicated cases, whichhave all shown satisfactory results. With the present development of traditional Chinese medicine, its integration with modern science and technology will surely enhance its contribution to human health.Step 4: Homework:Complete the related exercises in Workbook.。

选修7 Unit 2 Fit for life Word版含解析

Unit 2 Fit for life能力提升题组训练Ⅰ.阅读理解A(2018南昌高三二模) Traditionally, robots have been hard, made of metal and other rigid material: But a team of scientists at Harvard University in the US has managed to build an entirely soft robot—one that draws inspiration from an octopus (章鱼).Described in science journal Nature, the “Octobot” could pave the way for more effective autonomous robots that could be used in search, rescue and exploration.“The Octobot is a minimal system which may serve as a foundation for a new generation of completely soft, autonomous robots,”the study’s authors wrote.Robots built for precise, repetitive movements in a controlled environment don’t do so well on rough terrains (地形) or in unpredictable conditions. And they aren’t especially safe around humans, because they’re made out of hard and heavy parts that could be potentially dangerous to their users. So researchers have been working on building soft robots for decades. They’ve taken inspiration from nature, looking to animals from jellyfish to cockroaches, which are often made up of more flexible matter. But creating a completely soft robot remains a challenge.Even if engineers build a silicone (硅酮) body,it’s still a grand challenge to construct flexible versions of essential parts, such as a source of power.“Although soft robotics is still in its early stage,it holds great promise for several applications, such as search-and-rescue operations and exploration,”Barbara Mazzolai and Virgilio Mattoli of the Italian Institute of Technology’s Center for Micro-BioRobotics,wrote in a comment.“Soft robots might also open up new approaches to improving wellness and the quality of life.”1. What’s the special feature of “Octobot”?A.It’s soft.B.It’s made of metal.C.It’s very small.D.It looks like an octopus.2.What’s the disadvantage of traditional robots?A.They’re hard to control.B.They’re too heavy to move.C.They can’t predict conditions.D.They can’t behave well all the time.3.One of the biggest challenges is to build Octobot’s .A.silicone bodyplex componentsC.precise movementsD.flexible power source语篇解读:本文是一篇说明文,美国哈佛大学的科学家受到章鱼的启发,制造了软体机器人。

Unit 2 Fit for life-TaskTask Reporting on short-sightednessSkills building 1: listening for current situationsIn this part, you will learn to listen for a current situation, an explanation of the situation, why it exists, as well as how it can be recognized and the problems solved. Read the instructions on page 26. Make sure that you understand how to listen for current situations. You should know that it is important to identify the problem, the explanation, the reasons and the solutions in the report.Step 1: pleting notesYou will listen to a TV programme and take notes to report on the current problem of short-sightedness, which is very mon among Chinese teenagers today.1. Make a survey of short-sightedness in class. You may focus on the following points:✧number of students who wear glasses✧parison of the number to the last year’s figure reasons for the problem✧solutions to the problem2. Listen to the tape and finish Part A on page 26.streets. The reason for this is that the number of Chinese teenagers with short sightedness is increasing. According to the result of a national investigation into students’ health, the short sightedness rate for Chinese primary school students is twenty-two point eight percent. Among junior high school students the number increases to fifty-five point two percent, and by the time students get to senior high school, seventy point three percent of them need to wear glasses. Figures in other cities show this increase. Let’s take Taiyuan in ShanxiProvince for example. In two years the number of junior high school students with short-sightedness in Taiyuan, Sanxi Province increased from sixty-one point three to sixty-four point two percent, and for primary school students, the number increased from twenty-one point five to thirty-two percent. These high figures worry both teachers and doctors. But first, what exactly is short-sightedness? Short-sightedness is caused when the eye is unable to focus on distant objects. This results in an unclear image. Short-sightedness can usually be corrected with glasses or contact lenses, or, in some cases, with laser eye surgery. Contact lenses, which rest on the eye, and laser eye surgery, which changes the eye itself, both involve directly touching the eye. Therefore, it is remended to wait until adulthood to get contact lenses or to have laser eye surgery because by then the eyes are less likely to change. The question is, why do so many children in China suffer from this problem? It is a question that I asked Dr Li, an expert on the problem. He said that many schools encouraged students to do a lot of reading as homework, but this is not actually the problem. The problem is that many students read in bed, and very often their rooms are not well-lit. He said there is growing concern, among teachers and doctors, at the number of children who are being short-sighted. Teachers and doctors think that parents and students need more information on the problem so that they understand how their eyes can be protected. The problems is that if the short-sightedness is not discovered and dealt3. Read the instructions of Part B on page 27.
