• 汉语喜欢重复，英语崇尚简洁。汉语的重复作为一种修辞 手段有两种作用。一是为了强调，重复表达一个意思，或 增添修饰语，加强语气。二是为了便于词语搭配，或平衡 节奏，增加可读性。这些在汉语里习以为常的重复词语或 句式，到了英语里要么不合逻辑，要么累赘冗长。所以翻 译时都要有所删减省略。

绿色建筑与可持续建筑之-实现真正的绿色
Green building and sustainable building are often used interchangeably. Clear concepts and descriptions are generally absent from the discussion. It is appropriate to consider a green building is one that has measurably less impact on the environment than otherwise, i.e. is more sustainable in environmental terms. The darker the shade of the green, the more environmentally friendly is the building. Building environmental assessment method (BEAMs) have been developed to give a rating than provides a more holistic assessment of building performance. To appreciate the outcome of the assessment, i.e. what a building eco-label signifies in terms of environmental performance. It is necessary to understand which environmental aspects are assessed, the standard of performance required, the relative weightings of each aspects, and the overall score required to achieve a specified grade within the assessment method. This paper provides an insight into the greenness of a building eco-label based on a review of a number of BEAMs currently used for a20s20s/1e0/1s3sing new office buildings and the associated costs in 4 achieving truly green.

► Abstract: The concept of Eco-towns has aroused great interest but has also generated considerable scepticism and opposition. However, what is indisputable is that the physical context of successful eco-towns – how these are designed, the landscape features and the impressions the scheme makes in terms of ‘look and feel’ – is critical to building a scheme’s character, contributing to its success as a sustainable, attractive and enjoyable place to live. This article will identify best practice in landscape design and architecture from PRP’s recent European research project and include 1-2 of PRP’s current landscape projects, using these to illustrate how best practice is being applied successfully today.
