(3)当作定语的不定式所修饰的名词或代词是不定式动作的 承受者时,不定式既可以用主动语态,也可用被动语态,但其 含义有所不同。试比较:

二、不定式的句法功能 1.作主语 To finish the work in ten minutes is very hard. 在十分钟内完成这项工作很难。 动词不定式短语作主语时,常用 it 作形式主语,例如上面 一句可用如下形式替换: It is very hard to finish the work in ten minutes.
(4)用不定式作定语的几种情况: ①不定式表将来。 I borrowed some books to read during my holiday. 我借了几本书在假期里读。 ②用来修饰被序数词、最高级或 no, all, any 等限定的中心 词。 He was the best man to do the job. 他是做这项工作的最佳人选。
2.动词不定式的省略与替代 在 expect, hope, wish, mean, prefer, forget, want, try 及 used to, would like, love 等后面常常使用 to 来替代前面的不定式,以避 免重复。 I haven't been to Hong Kong, but I wish to. 我没去过香港,但我想去。 He doesn't like playing football, but he used to. 他不喜欢踢足球,但是他过去喜欢。
