Unit2 Fun Facts 教学设计A Famous English Storybook一、选材介绍本栏目取材于英国著名作家斯威夫特(Jonathan Swift, 1839-1903)的一部寓言小说《格列佛游记》(Gulliver’s Travel)，小说分四部，第一部讲的是大人国的故事，第二部讲的是小人国的故事，这些故事已成为家喻户晓的童话故事，深受儿童喜爱。
教材简述了这些故事，作为趣味百科阅读素材。
其中，结合本单元学习内容，描述了大人国和小人国，人们的外貌和性格特点，如A giant has a big mouth, a big nose and big eyes.又如They are not good-looking. They are not smart. 等。
二、教学建议1. 教学目标分为三个层次：词汇积累较少的学生可定位于第一层次，仅尝试理解文段的大意，知道大人国和小人醒的人的外貌和个性的基柿点；第二层次目标是在理解文段大意的根底上了解Gulliver对于大人国和小人酬根本态度，并完成Thinking tasks 的任务；第三层次目标是在第二层次目标的根底上，探寻关于大人国和小人国故事的更多信息。
对于接受本单元根本知识目标(LanguageFocus)尚有困难的学生，教师可暂缓本栏目的活动。
2. 教学过程：1) 读前活动。
教师可呈现英文版配图的Gulliver’s Travels,让学生感知大人国和小人国的有趣图像，激发学生的想象，在此根底上引入已熟悉的本单元话题，并引导学生联想到描述人物外貌和个性的语词。
2) 读中活动。
请学生翻到本页，开始第一次阅读，提醒学生粗知大意即可，不必拘泥细节。
阅读完成后，可以让学生合上书本，进行简单问答。
然后开始第二次阅读，要求学生标出重点语句(描述大人和小人的外貌和个性的语句)。
如需要，可进行第三次阅读，完整了解重要信息。
3) 读后活动。
