This was 42 far from easy in an age before modern telecommunications. In the year 132 AD, however, the scientist and inventor, Zhang Heng, devised a forerunner of the modem seismograph (an instrument used by scientists to detect earthquakes). 43 only could it detect a distant earthquake as it happened, but it could 44 in which direction the epicenter of the quake lay.The machine, was from metal, was almost two meters 45 , and shaped like a vase. There were dragons' heads around the rim, each with a metal ball in its mouth. The ball were balanced 46 when the earth moved slightly, one of them would fall into the mouth of a metal toad at the base of the vase, 47 creating a loud noiseto raise the alarm. The direction of the earthquake was indicated by 48 ball fell, and a special mechanism ensured that only one ball could fall. The device was viewed with considerable suspicion and doubt 49 , especially since the first time it dropped a ball, no shock could be felt. But people changed their minds a few days later, when a messenger 50 news of a earthquake 700 km away.41. A. as it B. if they C. as they D. that it42. A. naturally B. obvious C. clear D. hardly43. A. Peterson predicts that in less than 25 years, senior citizens will comprise more than 18 percent of the entire U.S population---the same proportion as in Florida today. Put another way, that means that early in the 21st century, there will be more grandparents than grandchildren. Peterson, a former secretary of Commerce under Nixon, is primarily concerned with what the aging of America---a product of both longer life spans and falling birthrates---means for Social Security and Medicare. But the social ramifications will be at least as profound as the economic ones. Will all those seniors shift the balance of political power? How will Hollywood executives, funeral directors and the auto industry change their products to meet the demands of a markedly older public? Because women tend to outlive men, will an older America also be significantly more female? In short, what will America be like when we all become a Senior Nation'?Anyone who has visited West Palm Beach or Tucson knows part of the answer, lots of people driving very slowly in big cars on their way to early-bird dinners. But that's only the most broad-brush observation. The political changes alone will be enough to bury all those stereotypes about the feeble elderly. Peterson estimates that by 2038, people 65 and older will make up 34 percent of the electorate - up from only 16 percent in 1966. You think Social Security is a sacred cow now? And the battle over entitlements may get uglier. The 65-plus population is about 85 percent white. The younger generations - the ones footing the seniors' bills - are much more racially mixed. "What you've got is an overwhelmingly white generation with enormous influence, askingAfrican-Americans, Hispanics and Asians to support them for decades," says Ken Dychtwald, president of Age Wave, a consulting firm that focuses on the maturingmarketplace. "The tension becomes not only generational but racial."51. What is true of American population?A. Florida's population is 18% of the entire U.S. population.B. American people will represent 18% of the world's population.C. American population will increase by 18% early in the next century.D. Senior citizens will outnumber teenagers in less than 25 years in the U.S.52. According to Peterson, the aging of America is caused by __________.A. social security and medicareB. shift in the balance of political powerC. longer life spans and falling birthratesD. social ramifications as well as economic ones53. Who is Peter G. Peterson?A. A funeral director.B. A Hollywood executive.C. A secretary of Commerce.D. The author of "Gray Dawn".54. "Gray Dawn" probably refers to the fact thatA. the younger generations are much more racially mixedB. the U.S. will be significantly more female in the next centuryC. the stereotypes about the feeble elderly are being dispersed by political changesD. the U.S. is entering a stage when there are more grandparents than grandchildren55. What is the best title for the passage'?A. The U.S.---a Senior NationB. The Senior Boom is ComingC. A Book Called "Gray Dawn"D. Generational and Racial TensionPassage 2Weary after centuries of fighting the surging North Sea from gushing into this low-lying nation, the Netherlands is rethinking how to keep Dutch feet dry.The traditional method of stopping floodwater has been to build dikes. But at the Second World Water Forum, a five-day conference that was to start today in The Hague, Dutch water experts were to explain that the best way to handle the water may be to let it in.In the Netherlands -- half of which lies below sea level -- the Ministry of Water Management has designated several low-lying regions as "calamity flood plains" that would be used in emergencies to divert floodwaters from populated areas, spokesman Hans Scholten said.Referring to the fable of a Dutch boy named Hans Brinker who saved the nation from disaster by plugging a hole in the sea barrier. Undersecretary for Water Management Monique de Vries said: "Hans Brinker will have to take his finger out of the dike and pull on his galoshes."Although the country has built dikes and reclaimed land since the Middle Ages, repeated flooding of farmland in recent years and high maintenance costs have led to a rethinking about the old methods."Sometimes it doesn't make sense to ignore the processes of nature," said Bert Blase, spokesman for an association of regional water boards. "flooding certain nature reserve areas every few years would be good for the environment."Part of the plan involves widening river beds to allow larger volumes of water to flow to the sea. Although it is still unclear how much land could eventually be allocated to the project-- some inhabitants would have to be relocated w large areas of the eastern Dutch province of Gelderland have been labeled as suitable. While flooding is a serious threat to the Dutch, global warming could expose many more in this country of 15 million to drought and water pollution if governments do not take drastic measures, conference organizers have warned.More than3,500 delegates from 150 countries will attend the conference, the follow-up to the first global water congress, Which was held in Marrakech. Morocco, two years ago. With one-sixth of the world's population lacking clean drinking water, forum organizers have called for annual global spending on water problems to be more than doubled from about $70 billion or $80 billion to $180 billion. In the closing stages of the conference, ministers from more than 100 countries will meet to discuss sustainable water for the world's growing population and farmers who grow crops for mass consumption.56. What is the new idea the experts put forward to keep Dutch feet dry?A. To build more powerful damsB. To let the sea water in the insideC. To ignore the process of natureD. To flood certain nature reserves57. Hans Brinker is known as a national hero_____________.A. in Dutch history who succeeded in diverting floodwater from the populated areasB. who took his finger out of the dike and built a sea barrierC. who pulled his finger on his galoshes and saved the nation from being drownedD. a legend who saved the nation by stopping the sea flood in58. Which of the following is NOT included in the forth-coming Dutch project in saving the nation from possible sea floods?A. To designate some low-lying regions as "calamity flood plains".B. To let the sea flood certain nature reserve areas every few years.C. To broaden some river beds to allow more river water to flow to the sea.D. To expose many more areas of the country to drought or flood.59. All the following are the topics to be discussed in the Second World Water Forum EXCEPT _______.A. how to divert floodwaters from the populated areas of HollandB. how to reduce water pollution and provide more healthy drinking water for the growing populationC. how to help farmers to keep on the sustainable agriculture by watering their crops timelyD. how to take measures to slow down the ever-accelerating global warming-up tendency60. The best way to paraphrase the sentence "Sometimes it doesn't make sense to ignore the process of nature" is ___________.A. Sometimes it's no use ignoring the process of natureB. In some cases man can and must neglect the law of natureC. It would often be harmful for Man to go against the process of natureD. Man must always follow the way of how things are going onPassage 3"Refrigerator production in China jumped from 1.4 million units in 1985 to 10.6 million in 1998," according to David Fridley, a researcher in the Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA.The Global Environmental Facility, through the United Nations Development Program, has decided to fund $9.3 million of the $40 million program to help the government of China transform its market for refrigerators. The refrigerator project began in 1989 when the EPA signed an agreement with the government of China to assist in the elimination of CFCs from refrigerators. Berkeley Lab has been involved in the project since 1995 through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, developing the market transformation program based on the success of the first phase of the project, which involved designing and testing CFC (chlorofluorocabon 含氯氟烃) free, energy efficient refrigerators. Fridley says that beyond his technical supervisory role, the Laboratory will be involved in training and working with the State Bureau of Technical Supervision as the new efficiency standards are developed."Market transformation," Fridley explains, "is the process of shifting consumer demand for a product, in this case to a more energy efficient, environmentally favorable product through voluntary, market based means such as technical assistance and training for manufacturers, consumer education, and financial incentives to manufacture and sell the more efficient product.""Collectively, we developed a technical training program for Chinese refrigerator manufacturers interested in developing CFC free, efficient refrigerators; a financial incentive program to motivate manufacturers to build the most efficient refrigerator possible; and a mass purchasing program for Chinese government agencies that acquire refrigerators in bulk," Fridley says.In 1998, the refrigerator project was awarded an International Climate Protection Award by the EPA. "It is not widely known in the United States, but China has had an energy efficiency policy in place since the early 1980s," says Mark Levine, Environmental Energy Technologies Division director and an advisor to the Chinese government on energy efficiency. "The government of China is committed to using energy more efficiently, and this has allowed the economy to grow at nearly twice the rate of energy consumption.""The Energy-Efficient Refrigerator Project will have a significant, direct effect on reducing greenhouse gas and pollutant emissions. We at Berkeley Lab are grateful to have the chance to work with the people and government of China on this project, as well as on our other refrigerator production projects in energy data analysis, appliance efficiency standards, and technical advice on cogeneration plants," adds Levine.61. The main idea of this passage is about_____________.A. the refrigerator production in China supported by UN and USAB. the energy-efficient refrigerator project in China aided by the UNC. the American aid to the Chinese government in environmental protectionD. the tremendous increase of China's refrigerator production62.From what the two American researchers said we can conclude that__________.A. the American experts working in the refrigerator project are disappointed at China's refrigerator productionB. the American researchers are particularly worried about China's over-emission of CCFC into the airC. the American researchers in refrigerator technology enjoy their opportunity to work in ChinaD. the American experts see China as the best place to increase their export of refrigerator technology63. According to Fridley, "Market transformation" means ______________.A. giving a practical guide to the consumers' needs as which products are betterB. strengthening the training of designers and manufacturers and educate the consumers to distinguish fightproducts from the fake onesC. producing high-quality products that can reach the international standards for environmental protectionD. trying to meet the demand of the consumers by improving the quality of products comprehensively64. The pronoun "it" in the sentence "It is not widely known in the United States" (Paragraph 5) may refer to_______.A. an International Climate Protection AwardB. the EPA, that is, the U.S. Environmental Protection AgencyC. the refrigerator project that won the awardD. the mass purchasing program for Chinese government agencies65. Why is the Energy-Efficient Refrigerator Project of great significance to China's further development?A. Because the project will have a significant, direct effect on reducing greenhouse gas and pollutant emissions.B. Because the Chinese government is eager to improve its people's living conditions.C. Because the Chinese government is determined to protect the environment from being destroyed byindustrial pollution.D. Because the Chinese government is eager to up-to-date the production of its electron industry.Passage 4By the mid-nineteenth century', in addition to its natural resources, the United States had accumulated enough capital in the form of factories to productively employ a large amount of labor, or human resources. A nation that still consisted largely of independent farmers could not provide an adequate labor supply for heavy industrialization. But millions of new workers came to the United States from abroad. As we are all aware, not all these workers arrived voluntarily. Slaves were brought from Africa to the South:they were put to work on plantations to extract maximum harvests from the cotton fields. But in the North, the machines that turned that cotton into textiles were worked by massive waves of immigrants who came willingly from one partof Europe after another. This vastly expanded pool of labor allowed from large leaps in our national output.A nation cannot grow forever by finding more natural resources and attracting more workers; thus, a country's extensive growth will eventually slow. But intensive growth gradually appears as better use is made of the labor force. In the United States in the mid-nineteen century, many of the newly arrived immigrants were unskilled and illiterate, but the education policy of their new land meant that their children all received an education, and many were trained in a skill. If a society gives workers more knowledge, they will be able to use machines in a more complex way and to follow more complex instructions, yielding manufactured goods of greater value; this process is often known as investing in human capital. In the late twentieth century, our physical capital is so abundant and our natural resources so limited that we are beginning to appreciate the importance of improving our human resources if we are to continue to grow.66. This passage mainly discusses the national output in terms of____________.A. the labor forceB. natural resourcesC. factoriesD. immigration67. We can infer from the passage (paragraph 2) that the South's contribution to the growth of industry in the mid-nineteenth century was mainly_____________.A. raw materialsB. skilled laborC. manufactured goodsD. industrial sites68. The phrase "massive waves of immigrants" in line 9 of the passage means that____________.A. many immigrants came by shipB. immigrant families stayed togetherC. groups of immigrants came at different timesD. groups of immigrants were greeted enthusiastically69. From the passage, which of the following can be inferred about the United States in the fast half of the nineteenth century?A. It was producing large amounts of manufactured goods.B. It was largely agricultural.C. It was fully industrialized.D. It was low in natural resources.70. We can infer from the passage that intensive growth of a nation's economy requires_____________.A. expansion of resourcesB. better use of the labor forceC. attracting unskilled laborD. limiting the human resources71. According to the passage, what is the end goal of an investment in human capital?A. Providing more valuable manufactured goodsB. Educating immigrant familiesC. Training in use of complex machinesD. Developing literacy for all72. We can infer from the passage (paragraph 3) that in the mid-nineteenth century the United States placed a high value on______________.A. European tradeB. educationC. agricultureD. development of natural resourcesPassage 5Economists have received the unfair reputation of being unable to agree on anything. The image of economists in disagreement is part of our folklore. An English commentator wrote: "If parliament were to ask six economists for an opinion, seven answers could come back--two no doubt from the volatile Mr. Keynes." The London Times laments the "rise in skepticism about what economists can tell us," and Business Week complains about "the intellectual bankruptcy of economics profession."The image of widespread disagreement among economists is overrated. The result of a survey of 100 professional economists confirm that there is considerable agreement among economists about what can be done (positive economics), especially in a microeconomic context. However, there is more disagreement over what ought to be done. Questions of what ought to be done (Should we equalize the distribution of income? Should we increase defense spending?) require moral and political value judgments on which individuals naturally differ. Finally, disagreement among professional economists receives more publicity than other scientific professions, which contributes to the false image of economists in disaccord. While disagreements in other sciences are as strong or even stronger than in economics, these disagreements are less visible to the public eye. Theoretical physicists have disagreed about the physical nature of the universe since the foundations of physics, but this scientific controversy is understood by only a few theoretical physicists. It does not require much disagreement to bring disputes to the public's attention. Everyone is interested in economic questions: Will inflation accelerate? Will I lose my job? Why is the price of gasoline rising so fast? Why are home mortgages so hard to come by? Economists do disagree, particularly on some big macroeconomic issues. But often what the public perceives as disagreements over positive economics are really disagreements over what ought to be. In general, there is more agreement than disagreement among economists.73. According to the passage, the commentator mentions Mr. Keynes as noted for his____________.A. good senseB. inconsistency of opinionsC. predictabilityD. greediness74. According to the passage, positive economics is__________.A. an attempt to convince disgruntled economistsB. Statements in microeconomics about what is possibleC. financial statements showing againD. results of economic surveys75. The author believes that disagreement between economists is all of the following EXCEPT__________.A. naturalB. exaggeratedC. publicizedD. nonexistent76. According to the passage, which of the following statements describes disagreements between theoretical physicists?A. They are fairly recent situations.B. They are not easily understood by non-physicists.C. The public follows them intently.D. They are not worthy of publication.77. The phrase "hard to come by" in the last paragraph is closest in meaning to____________.A. badly advertisedB. difficult to obtainC. far awayD. plentiful78. It can be inferred from the passage that economists find macroeconomic issues _________.A. more controversial than microeconomic issuesB. easier to understand than positive economicsC. similar to issues in theoretical physicsD. not concerned with reality79. The purpose of the author in this passage is to__________________.A. point out a misconceptionB. support a generalizationC. elaborate on a mythD. compare two views80. The author's attitude toward economists in this passage is___________.A. sympatheticB. criticalC. indifferentD. skepticalPART V TRANSLATION (30 minutes, 20 points)Section A (15 minutes, 10 points)The wise man knows the place of these things in the scheme of life as a whole. 我的梦想是成为一个超级英雄英语作文

我的梦想是成为一个超级英雄英语作文

我的梦想是成为一个超级英雄英语作文全文共5篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Dream of Being a Super HeroHi there! My name is Tommy and I'm 10 years old. I go to Oakwood Elementary School and I'm in the 5th grade. Today I want to tell you all about my biggest dream in life - to become a super hero!Ever since I was a little kid, I've always loved watching superhero movies and shows. My favorite superhero of all time is Spider-Man. He's so cool with his spider powers like climbing up walls, shooting webs from his wrists, and having that spidey sense that warns him when trouble is coming. I even have a Spider-Man costume that I wear around the house sometimes! But Spider-Man isn't the only super hero I admire. There are so many awesome ones with incredible powers and abilities. Like Superman who can fly, has super strength, laser vision, and is pretty much invincible. Or Batman who is a normal human but is a master of martial arts and uses cool gadgets to fight bad guys.Or the Incredible Hulk who gets super strong whenever he gets angry and smashes everything in his way!I dream about being a superhero all the time and using my powers to help people. Like if there was a big fire, I could fly in and rescue people trapped inside before the firefighters could even get there. Or if there was a big monster or villain attacking the city, I could beat them up with my super strength and laser eyes. Or if I saw a bank getting robbed, I could stop the robbers with my superpower and turn them over to the police.Having superpowers would be so incredible! I'd be able to run faster than a race car, lift things weighing tons with my super strength, and never get hurt because I'd be invincible. And just imagine how helpful those powers could be in everyday life too. Like if I was late for school, I could just fly there in a few seconds. Or if my little sister was being mean and not sharing her toys, I could just lift her up and put her in time out using my super strength.Of course, being a superhero isn't all about the cool powers. It's also about being brave, doing the right thing, and helping people no matter what. Even kid superheroes in cartoons understand this. Like when the Powerpuff Girls save Townsville from monsters and robbers. Or when the Teen Titans jointogether and use their powers to defeat evil villains. Superheroes have to make sacrifices and put others before themselves. That's why if I became a superhero, I would use my powers to stop crimes, like bank robberies and kidnappings. I would rescue people who were in danger, like from a burning building or a steamroller heading their way. And I would battle dangerous villains and monsters to keep my town and the whole world safe. No task would be too big or too small if it meant helping others and protecting people!Being a superhero kid would be tough though. I would have to find a way to keep my identity a secret so that no bad guys could go after my family or friends. And I'd have to be ready to spring into action at any time, even if it meant missing recess or a sleepover. I'd probably get called to save the day a lot during class time too. Mrs. Thompson would not be happy if I had to just suddenly fly out of the classroom in the middle of her math lesson!I would also have to be really careful about using my powers responsibly. Like I couldn't use super strength to take toys from other kids or heat vision to cheat on tests. And I'd have to be extra gentle when playing sports or games so I didn'taccidentally hurt someone with my powers. It would take a lot of self-control and discipline.Even with those challenges though, I would do whatever it took to be a superhero. It's my destiny, I can feel it! Maybe some day I'll be bitten by a radioactive insect and get insane powers like Spider-Man. Or I could fall into a vat of chemicals that give me super abilities like The Flash. Or maybe I'll just wake up one day and randomly have cool powers, like the kids in Sky High or The Incredibles. No matter how I get them, I'll use my powers for good!So that's my dream - to become a real life superhero who defends the innocent and battles crime and evil. Just like Superman, Spider-Man, and all the other superheroes I look up to. I may only be a kid now, but someday I'm going to grow up, get superpowers, and make the world a better place as a superhero. The city will call out for help and I'll answer, using my abilities to save lives and defeat villains. My superhero name will be.....The Awesome Kid! Yeah, that's a pretty cool name, I think. Just wait and see, I'll get those powers soon and become The Awesome Kid for real. Then I'll show everyone what a real superhero looks like!篇2My Dream is to Be a SuperheroHi there! My name is Tommy and I'm 10 years old. I go to Oakwood Elementary School and I'm in 5th grade. Today I want to tell you all about my biggest dream in life - to be a superhero!Ever since I was a little kid, I've always loved watching superhero movies and reading superhero comic books. There's just something so awesome about those brave heroes using their incredible powers to fight evil and protect innocent people. Whether it's Superman soaring through the skies, Spider-Man swinging between skyscrapers, or the Incredible Hulk smashing through walls, I'm absolutely captivated by it all!My favorite superhero of all is probably Iron Man. I just think it's so cool how he's a regular human guy, but he invented this amazing high-tech suit of armor that lets him fly, shoot repulsor beams from his hands, and do all sorts of other crazy things. Plus, he's really smart and sarcastic, which I like. Some of my other favorites are Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and the whole Marvel gang.I've spent hours and hours dreaming about what kind of superhero I would want to be. First of all, I think I'd want the power of flight. Can you imagine how awesome it would be to soar above the clouds, looking down over the whole city? Thatwould be the best! I'd also definitely want super strength so I could lift huge objects, break through walls, and take down the biggest, baddest villains. As for other powers, I think it would be really handy to have laser vision to burn through thick metal doors or cut through ropes if I was trapped. Maybe some kind of force field too to protect myself from bullets and explosions. Oh, and invisibility could come in super useful for sneaking around without the bad guys seeing me.I've put a lot of thought into my superhero costume and secret identity too. By day, I would be mild-mannered Tommy Thompson, just your average elementary school kid. But when danger strikes, I would duck into a phone booth or alleyway, and boom - suddenly I've transformed into the amazing Captain Xtreme! My costume would be slick and modern, with shades of blue, black, and glowing lines of energy running across it. I'd have a cool face mask, kind of like Spider-Man's, and a billowing cape for extra dramatic effect when I'm flying in to save the day. And my logo would be this blazing "X" across the chest because "X" stands for "Xtreme" - get it?Just imagine the adventures I could have as Captain Xtreme, soaring over Metro City and using my powers to stop criminals and super-villains from wreaking havoc. One day, I might get a call that the dastardly Dr. Degrado has created a giant laser cannon and is threatening to burn down half the city unless the mayor pays a billion dollar ransom. Time for Captain Xtreme to swoop in!I'd fly directly at Dr. Degrado's lair, fighting off his henchmen and dodging laser blasts. Once inside, I would confront the evil scientist face-to-face. "Give it up, Degrado!" I'd shout. "Your crimes end here!" He would sneer at me and retort with some kind of cheesy villain line like "We'll see about that, insect!" Then I would have to use all my strength, speed, and wits to overcome his deathtraps and doomsday devices. In the end, after an epic battle, I would finally vanquish Degrado and save Metro City once again. The mayor would thank me and congratulate me on my bravery. I'd give a humble shrug and say "All in a day's work for Captain Xtreme!" Someday maybe I'd even get my own movie franchise and be as big as the Avengers! That's pretty much my dream life as a superhero in a nutshell.I know it seems farfetched and a lot of people might think it'ssilly for a 10-year-old kid to want to have crazy superpowers. But hey, you've got to have dreams, right? Maybe if I work really, really hard and never give up, somehow that dream could actually come true someday. A guy can hope!At the very least, I've learned a ton of awesome values from superheroes that I try to apply in my real life - being brave, standing up for what's right, using my talents to help others, and never giving up no matter how tough the odds. Superheroes inspire me to be the best person I can be. So even if I never get to wear a cape and mask, I can still aim to be a real-life hero by having a kind heart, working hard, and always doing the right thing.Anyway, thanks for reading about my superhero dream! I better get going - I think I heard a call for help coming from downtown. Places to fly, people to save! Up, up, and away!篇3My Dream of Being a SuperheroHi there! My name is Billy and I'm 10 years old. I go to Parkview Elementary School and I'm in the 5th grade. Today I want to tell you all about my biggest dream in life - to become a real live superhero!Ever since I was a little kid, I've always loved superhero movies and comic books. There's just something so cool about people who have amazing powers and use them to save the world from evil villains. Whether it's Superman flying through the sky, Spider-Man swinging between skyscrapers, or the Incredible Hulk smashing through buildings, watching superheroes kick bad guy butt never gets old!I think my superhero obsession really started when I was around 5 years old. My dad took me to see the first Iron Man movie and I was hooked from that opening scene where Tony Stark's convoy gets attacked. Seeing Iron Man's awesomehigh-tech suit of armor in action for the first time wasmind-blowing! After that, I started collecting Iron Man toys, dressing up as him for Halloween, and even trying to build my own crappy versions of his suit out of cardboard boxes and duct tape.As I got a bit older, I became a huge fan of superhero teams like the Avengers and the Justice League. There's nothing better than seeing all those super powerful heroes teaming up to take down an evil force that's threatening the whole world or universe. My favorite Avengers movies are definitely the two-part Infinity War saga where they all have to join forces against theultra-powerful villain Thanos and his alien army. That final battle at the end is pure superhero awesomeness! While movies and comics are great, they've also made me wish I could have cool powers of my own to use to help people and stop criminals. Can you imagine how awesome it would be to have super strength, the ability to fly, shoot lasers from your eyes, or even just be a genius inventor who can build crazy high-tech gadgets and vehicles? With abilities like that, you could stop bank robbers, take down terrorist groups, and save countless lives whenever disaster strikes. That's why my number one dream is to somehow gain superpowers and put them to good use as a real-life superhero. I'd get a cool superhero outfit with a mask to protect my secret identity. Maybe I could be Captain Awesome or The Platinum Protector or something like that. I'd fly around my hometown stopping any criminals I came across, rescuing people from burning buildings or cars that went off the road, and always being on the lookout for anyone in need of help.Of course, I'd also use my powers to fight against major threats to the whole world, just like superhero teams do in the movies. If an evil genius ever tried to take over the world with killer robots or laser cannons, I'd be there to stop them. Or ifsome hugely powerful supervillain appeared and started destroying cities, I'd call up all my superhero friends from around the world and we'd take that baddie down together in an epic battle. Maybe I could even join up with the Avengers or the Justice League - how cool would that be?!I know becoming an actual superhero with crazy abilities seems impossible. But I figure if I keep dreaming big and working as hard as I can, maybe I'll get lucky someday. Some kid out there is bound to accidentally gain superpowers through beingbit by a radioactive insect, getting exposed to weird space radiation, or maybe even through one of those top secret government experiments gone wrong that you see in the comics. Hey, you never know, it could happen to me!If I can't get superpowers through some crazy accident though, I'll just have to create them myself. When I grow up, I'm going to become a genius scientist and inventor like Tony Stark or Bruce Banner. Then I'll spend all my time trying to build a high-tech suit of armor, some kind of powerful jet or vehicle, or maybe even experiment with genetic modification to enhance my body's abilities. With enough hard work and smarts, I can make myself into a superhero!Even if getting real superpowers turns out to be completely impossible, I'll never stop dreaming about it and doing whatever I can to help make the world a better place. At the very least, I can see myself becoming a police officer, firefighter, doctor or scientist - jobs where I can use my skills and determination to protect people and save lives, even without being able to shoot lasers from my eyes or fly through the air. You've got to admit, that's probably the next best thing to being a superhero! So that's my huge, outrageous, maybe even impossible dream - to gain incredible superpowers through some wild accident or my own invention, then use those powers to become a real-life superhero who protects the innocent and battles evil, just like in the comics and movies. I'm going to spend my whole life working as hard as I can to try and make that dream a reality. But even if it never happens, at least I'll always have an awesome superhero adventure going on in my imagination. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to working on my own version of a high-tech batsuit and utility belt...篇4My Dream is to Become a SuperheroWow, being a superhero would be the coolest thing ever! Just imagine flying through the sky, zooming past buildings, and seeing the whole city below you. Or having super strength and being able to lift huge trucks and buses over your head. How awesome would that be?Ever since I was a little kid, I've always loved superhero movies and comic books. I think my favorite is definitely Spider-Man. He's so brave and never gives up, even when things get really tough. And how cool would it be to be able to climb up walls and shoot webs from your wrists? That's like the dream superpower right there.I also really like Iron Man because he's a genius who builds all these incredible high-tech suits and gadgets. I'd love to be able to create amazing inventions like that. Maybe I could even team up with other superheroes and we could use my gadgets to fight bad guys together. That would be epic!Of course, I can't forget about the classics like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman too. Flying, super strength, cool costumes and gadgets - they've got it all. Although I'm not sure I'd want to dress up in my underwear like Superman does. That might be a little weird!Anyway, the main reason I want to be a superhero is so I can help people and make the world a better place. It would be my job to protect innocent civilians from dangerous supervillains and stop their evil schemes. No more robberies, kidnappings, or blowing up buildings for them!I'd fly around the city looking for anyone in trouble. If I saw a burning building, I could use my super strength to bend a fire truck's ladder and rescue a family trapped on the top floor. Or if there was a huge monster or alien attacking, I could swoop in and punch it right in the face! That would teach it a lesson for messing with my city. And just imagine how cool it would be to have a secret hideout or base. It could be like the Batcave, but even cooler with loads of awesome tech, training rooms, and vehicle hangers for my superhero car or jet. Maybe I'd even get a cool superhero pet sidekick like Batman has with his dog Ace.Being a superhero wouldn't be easy though. I'd have to be really brave and put my life on the line to protect others. The supervillains would probably have crazy evil plans to take over the world or unleash some doomsday weapon. So I'd have to train really hard, both physically and mentally, to take them down.It would be worth it though to see people's faces light up when I save the day. They'd be so relieved and grateful that a real life superhero showed up just in the nick of time. I can picture the crowds cheering and chanting my superhero name as I wave from above. How cool would it be to get that kind of love and appreciation from people?I know it's just a dream and being a real superhero is pretty much impossible. But a kid can dream, right? At least I can live vicariously through my favorite superheroes in the movies, games, and comic books. Who knows, maybe science will advance far enough that we'll actually get real superpowers one day? A guy can hope!If I did somehow magically get superpowers though, I'd use them for good and be the greatest superhero ever. I'd work my butt off day and night, fighting crime and villains across the globe. No criminal would be safe, no planet or dimension out of my reach for saving. I'd be a real life legend that people could believe in and find hope through. But until that unlikely day comes, I'll just have to settle for running around the backyard in a makeshift cape and mask. Defending the world from imaginary supervillains and rescuingmy stuffed animals from peril. Hey, you've gotta start your superhero training somewhere, right?I can picture it now - surfing on a jet of flames high in the sky, my red cape whipping behind me in the wind. I spot a museum being robbed down below and let out my signature superhero yell. "Never fear, Captain Awesome is here!" I'd shout as I barrel down and land in front of the crooks in a burst of fiery smoke. Yeah, that's the dream right there!篇5My Dream is to Become a SuperheroHi everyone! My name is Tommy and I'm 10 years old. I go to Oakwood Elementary School and I'm in the 5th grade. Today I want to tell you all about my biggest dream in life - to become a superhero!Ever since I was a little kid, I've always loved superheroes. My favorite superhero is definitely Spider-Man because he's so cool and can climb up walls and shoot webs from his wrists. How awesome is that?! I have like a million Spider-Man action figures, toys, t-shirts, you name it. For my 8th birthday, my parents even threw me a huge Spider-Man themed party which was epic. But why do I want to be a superhero so badly? Well, there are a few really important reasons. First of all, superheroes are super strong and have incredible powers that let them do amazing things like fly, shoot lasers from their eyes, or even become invisible. With powers like that, you can fight bad guys and make the world a safer place.Secondly, superheroes wear these awesome costumes and their secret identities are a mystery to regular people. Can you imagine how cool it would be to have a masked superhero identity that no one knows about? You could be a normal kid at school during the day, but then transform into your superhero self and go fight crime at night. Mind blown! Finally, and most importantly, superheroes spend all their time helping others and protecting innocent people. They risk their lives to stop evil villains from carrying out dastardly plans. Without superheroes around, the bad guys might take over the world! Superheroes are real-life heroes that everyone looks up to.So what kind of superhero powers would I want to have? That's a super tough decision because there are so many amazing ones to choose from. But if I had to pick, I think I would want the ability to fly. Just imagine soaring through the clouds atsupersonic speeds! You could get anywhere in the world in a flash to fight crime and save the day. And flying would be so freeing and let you see the entire world from up high. It's definitely the best superpower in my opinion. As for my superhero name, I've spent countless hours trying to come up with the perfect one. Some ideas I've had are The Soaring Warrior, Apex Avenger, or maybe even Captain Courage. Those all sound pretty epic if you ask me! I would want my superhero costume to be predominantly red and blue, which are the classic superhero colors. Maybe it could have some yellow accents too. And you can't forget the classic superhero cape - it lets you fly with style! My superhero headquarters would be in a hidden underground lair located right underneath my hometown of Oakvale. It would be filled with awesome superhero tech and gadgets to help me fight villains. We're talking everything from laser cannons and freeze rays to jetpacks and robotic sidekicks. The entrance would be a secret trap door disguised as a storm drain so no one would ever suspect it's there. Only my most trusted superhero friends would know the location! So what kinds of villains would I fight as a superhero? The usual criminal masterminds probably - evil geniuses wanting totake over the world, mutant monsters rampaging through cities, robots going haywire and attacking people. But my absolute biggest villain and nemesis would definitely be the Dastardly Doughnut Destroying Demon! This villain would be feared across the universe for stealing and eating all the doughnuts everywhere he goes. Can you imagine a world with no doughnuts left? It would be utter chaos! I would make it my life's mission to stop this goofy doughnut gobbler at all costs.Becoming an awesome superhero wouldn't be easy though.I would need to train really hard to build up my strength, stamina, and fighting skills. Villains aren't just going to give up without putting up a battle royale! I'd undergo intense physical and mental training every single day to get superhero ready. We're talking extreme workouts like running miles upon miles, lifting huge weights, intense martial arts classes, you name it. No pain, no gain!I'd also need to learn skills like strategy, detective work, and technology to outsmart the villains and their evil schemes. Luckily, I'd have some trusty superhero mentors like Batman and Iron Man to teach me everything they know. Just imagining getting lessons from real superheroes is unbelievably exciting! They could show me all the ins and outs of superhero life.Once I've completed my grueling training, I'll finally be ready to take on the role of a full-fledged superhero and start protecting the innocent civilians around the world. No crime would be too big or small for me to handle. I'd spend my days stopping bank robberies, rescuing people from burning buildings, and rounding up villain henchmen left and right. At night, I'd hit the streets patrolling for any nefarious activity going on. If any villains are lurking about, they'd better watch out for me!Being a superhero definitely wouldn't be an easy job though. I'd have to make lots of sacrifices and it would be incredibly dangerous work. But I wouldn't have it any other way! Risking my life to help others and make the world safer would be my calling. I'd give it my 100,000,000,000% effort every single day knowing that I'm truly making a difference.Plus, just imagine how awesome my life as a superhero would be! I'd get my very own movie franchise, hit TV shows, best-selling comic books, you name it. Adoring fans around the world would look up to me as their inspiration. And do you know what the best part is? I bet I'd even get to meet real celebrities like Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Tom Holland! Now that would be a dream come true.Well, those are all the reasons why I dream of becoming a superhero when I grow up. It's my destiny to use unbelievable powers and gadgets to fight evil, save the world, and make loads of doughnuts safe again. Just you wait - one day the friendly neighborhood Tommy will be soaring through the skies as a real-life superhero! Thanks for reading, true believers!。

Rongo'sfamily is very poor and they don't have much, but they are still happy together. At the beginning of the story, Rongo's father Whatu gets very sick. He can't work or do anything to help support the family. This makes things really hard for Rongo, her mother Ariana, and her little brother Kingi. They are struggling to get enough food and money. One day, Rongo's teacher at school tells the class about a contest where kids can write letters telling how their families need help. The prize is a grass house, which is a special house made out of grass that rich people in New Zealand used to live in a long time ago. Rongo decides she has to try and win this contest for her family.Rongo works really hard on writing her letter. She talks all about how her dad is so sick that he can't work. She says how her mom has to take care of him and also try to find little jobs to make a tiny bit of money. And she writes about her little brother Kingi who is so young and deserves a better life. When she's done, Rongo gives her letter to her teacher to enter into the contest.A few weeks later, there is an assembly at school where the winner of the grass house is announced. Rongo is super nervousbut trying not to get her hopes up too high. When they call out her name as the winner, she can't believe it! Her family is getting the grass house and all their lives are going to be so much better.Rongo and her family are taken to where the grass house is already built on some land near their village. It's a beautiful little house with a living room, kitchen, and two bedrooms. There is even a small garden outside. Rongo's family is amazed at how nice it is compared to the small, rundown shack they were living in before. At first Rongo's dad is too sick to really appreciate the house. But eventually with the better living conditions of the grass house, he starts to get better. He is able to go back to work and provide for his family again. Rongo, her mom, and Kingi are all so grateful for their new home and for the chance to have a better life.In the end, winning the grass house contest completely changed Rongo's family's life for the better. Instead of struggling every day to get by, they now have a nice place to live and Rongo's dad is healthy enough to work again. It shows how even a little girl's hopes and hard work can make a big difference. The grass house gave Rongo's family the opportunity for a brighter future.篇2The Grass House Story SummaryMy name is Emily and I recently read the novel "The Grass House" by Gloria Whelan for my 6th grade English class. It's a really interesting story about the hard life of a family during the Great Depression. I'm going to summarize the main events and characters in this essay. The book takes place in the 1930s in Michigan. The main characters are Vida, who is 13 years old, her 7-year-old brother David, and their father Graham. Their mother died a few years earlier from influenza. At the start of the book, the family has to leave their home in Detroit because Graham can't find any work. He decides they will go live off the land and be farmers, even though they don't have any farming experience. They move to an abandoned farm in the countryside. It has a rundown shack that leaks when it rains. They have hardly any money and just a few pots, a plow, and some seeds to get started. Vida and David have to start doing all kinds of chores like milking the cow, feeding the chickens, chopping wood, fetching water from the well, and cooking over a fire since they don't have electricity or running water. At first, it's really difficult for them to survive off the land. The garden doesn't grow well at first and the roof of the shack leaks so much that they have to start living in a little house made of sod and grass, which is where the title comes from. They struggle with hunger, cold temperatures, and feeling isolated in the countryside away from other people. But eventually they start getting the hang of farming. Their garden begins producing food and they learn to can fruits and vegetables to get through the winter. They make friends with some neighbors, including a girl named Louise who shows Vida how to quilt. The family has to get creative, like using grass stuffed into old ticking for mattresses.A major conflict happens when a fire starts, threatening their crops and grass house. Vida and David have to work together frantically to try to put it out. I don't want to give away how it ends, but there are some really tense and dramatic moments!Vida and David learn a lot about perseverance, hard work, and sticking together as a family through all the challenges. By the end, even though life is still hard, you can see how much they've grown from the struggles. The grass house symbolizes their resilience through the tough times. Some of the themes explored include:The difficulties of the Great Depression and povertyThe importance of close family bondsThe value of an appreciation for nature and self-sufficiencyComing of age and growing up quickly due to adversityThe rewards that come from determination and not giving upOverall, I really enjoyed The Grass House even though parts were quite sad or tough to read about. It's an engaging story that opens your eyes to what life was like during the Great Depression, especially for kids who had to take on a lot of adult responsibilities at a young age. I'd definitely recommend this historical fiction novel to others interested in that time period or just great storytelling in general. It's packed with valuable life lessons too.篇3The Grass House Summary EssayHey there! I'm going to give you a full rundown on the story "The Grass House" that we read in our English class. This one was pretty wild, let me tell you!It all starts off with this kid named Soonchild living in a village in Africa with his family. Soonchild is a cool name, right? Anyway, one day Soonchild comes across these two sketchy guys in the bushes. They're up to no good, whispering about some crazy plan to burn down all the houses in the village made of grass and reed. Can you imagine? Soonchild overhears them and gets freaked out.So Soonchild goes and tells his dad, Bamurru, what he heard those shady dudes plotting. Bamurru is the chief of the village, so he takes it pretty seriously. He calls an emergency meeting with all the villagers to warn them about the threat of arson. Some people are like "nah, no way, that's crazy talk!" But Bamurru insists they have to be ready just in case. The next day, Soonchild goes off playing with his friend Kuta. They wander a little too far from the village and get lost in the fields. This fog rolls in out of nowhere, making it impossible to see anything. They're just wandering around aimlessly, getting more and more turned around.Meanwhile, back in the village, people start smelling smoke. At first they think maybe it's just a cooking fire or something. But then they realize - oh no! The houses are on fire! Panic modeengages as everyone starts grabbing water and trying to put out the flames.Just when it seems like all hope is lost, Soonchild and Kuta hear the villagers' cries for help through the fog. They stumble towards the sounds and emerge from the fields to see the horrible scene of all the grass houses going up in flames, just like those jerks said they'd do.Soonchild has this idea to burn off a big clearing in the fields to create a firebreak and stop the fire from spreading any further. The villagers all jump in to help with this plan. Sure enough, it works! The fire is contained and the rest of the village is saved. In the aftermath, Bamurru announces they'll have to build all new houses out of stronger materials that can't burn down so easily, like brick and mud. And you know what? The story ends with the villagers all coming together to start constructing these cool new fire-resistant homes. After that harrowing experience, they know they've got to be prepared for anything. That's the gist of the wild tale of The Grass House! There's adventure, suspense, a daring rescue, and the village banding together to overcome a huge challenge. I don't know about you, but I was on the edge of my seat the whole time reading it. Definitely one of the most exciting stories we've covered so far.Let me know if you need me to go over any part of the summary again!。
