Unit Seven Introduction to Logistics Text A The definition of logisticsThe term “Logistics” originates from a Greek word “logos”, which refers to reasoning. The term “logistics” was first used in a military sense in the early 19th century. In the business world, the concept of “logistics”was applied solely to “Material Replenishment Programs”(MRP) and was confined to the manufacturing sector at the beginning, which is called the first party logistics nowadays.
