一、教学目标
◆语言知识目标
1.学习单词month, March, April, May，June, November，December, January, February初步运用wonderful等词汇。
2.学习句型：When is your birthday? It’s in….
3.功能：谈论月份及生日时间。
◆语言技能目标
1.能认读所学的月份单词。
2.能正确地使用大小写字母书写有关单词。
3.能用所学语言询问他人生日或描述自己生日所在的月份。
◆情感态度
通过学习，培养学生对生活的热爱。
◆文化意识
了解某些月份的名称由来、书写、缩写等。
二、教学重点和难点
（1）教学重点：能够听、说、认读12个月份的名称并能书写其缩写形式，能够运用句型：When is your birthday ? My birthday is in …（2）教学难点：January、February的发音，正确书写12个月份的缩写形式。
三、教具准备
1.有关月份的12张单词卡片。
四季特色的单词卡片、
2.空白的生日调查表。
3.教学光盘。
四、教学过程
Step 1 Warming up
1.师生互致问候。
2.师戴生日帽，全班齐唱：Happy Birthday
Step 2 Presentation
(一)教学单词March, April, May, June, November, December, January ,February。
师：“Today is my birthday. My birthday is in November.”教学November。
问学生“When is your birthday ?”引导学生用“It’s in…”
回答。
根据学生的回答，教师教学有关月份的单词。
(1)教学单词November，分音节进行教学：No-vem-ber.记忆说明：十一月的音头类似“No温”。
十一月立冬，冬天来了，当然没有温度啦。
(2)教学单词March,出示单词car, park,找出ar发\a:\,再拼读。
记忆说明：March发音象“妈妻”。
三月有妇女节，对小孩来说，那是“妈”的节日，对于孩子他爸来说，那是“妻”的节日。
(3)教学单词April,并出示单词apple，比较学习这两个单词的音和形。
(4)教学单词May,并出示单词may,比较学习这两个单词的形和义。
记忆：劳动“美”，May的发音类似“美”。
五月有劳动节，劳动最光荣，劳动最“美”。
(5) 先出示单词July，再教学单词June，比较学习这两个单词的音、义、形。
记忆说明：June与汉语“聚呢”（ju ne）是一样的。
六月有儿童节，孩子们肯定会在节日里高兴地过节、聚“聚呢”。
(6)教学单词December，与November对比，让学生试着读一读。
记忆说明：十二月December的音头类似“底”，因为十二月是一年的最后一个月，到“底”了。
(7) 教学单词January，较难读，分音节读：Ja-nua-ry，听节奏快、慢读。
记忆说明：January音头类似“箭”,另外“J”的形状也象“箭”。
(8)教学单词February，与January对比教学，同样用分音节教学。
记忆说明：February音头类似“飞吧”。
二月是立春，一般也是春节所在的月份，这个月学生们都放寒假了，都要“飞吧”，飞回家玩去了呢。
（二）教师出示四季特色的单词卡片，复习四季的单词，让学生上台把1到12月分到四个季节的下方。
核对时说：March, April, May is in spring.依此类推。
(三) 学习并巩固课文对话。
(1)教师指着班上的学生说：“×××’s birthday is in August.×××’s birthday is in October. When is Yang Ming’s birthday? When is Lily’s birthday?”
(2)教师出示这两个问题，请学生带着问题初步感知课文内容。
(3)教师播放课文录音，学生边听边找出答案。
(4)请学生翻开课本第36页，教师播放课文教学光盘，学生模仿跟读
二遍。
(5)出示单词wonderful并教学，引导学生用不同的语气练说句子:That’s wonderful!
(6)学生分角色表演对话内容。
（四）揭示课题
(1)教师指着黑板上的单词说：“These are the words about months.”出示month和months的单词卡片，让学生明白There are twelve months in
a year.一句的意思。
(2)板书课题：Unit 5 Months of the YearPart A。
Step3：Consolidation
(1)游戏——快速反应。
游戏规则：每组同学开火车快速认读月份的单词卡片。
说错的学生就坐下，其余学生继续游戏，看谁坚持到最后。
Step 4 Extension
综合活动：
游戏——猜猜我的生日。
游戏规则：请一位学生上台，从12张月份卡中找出自己生日所在的月份卡片，并藏于身后，然后请台下的学生来猜一猜。
如：Is your birthday in March? 当某位学生猜对时，台上的学生就出示卡片，说：“Yes,my birthday is in….”
Step 5 Homework
1.听录音，熟读并背诵课文内容。
2.完成课本第40页的Learn to write.部分。
3.完成《活动手册》上本课的练习。

本节课的设计主要依据教材内容及五年级学生的年龄特点，充分体现学生为主体，让学生在教师的指导下，通过感知、体验、实践、参与和合作等方式，实现任务目标，感受成功，使学生在情景中感受、体验和运用新学语言。
所以本节课的单词教学，我没有局限在只教学March, April, May，June这四个月份，而是把1到12月在问答中，全都教了，让全班的所有同学都有机会说，都会说。
本节课教学内容是有关月份的单词和句型。
在本节课中，注重激发学生的学习兴趣，课前用一首《Happy Birthday》歌曲演唱缓解了学生刚开始上课时的紧张情绪，营造了轻松的英语学习氛围。
随后很自然地进入询问“When is your birthday? My birthday is in…”的句子教学和月份的教学。
使学生在情景中学习和运用语言，最后能用本节课所学的语言做事情，即要求他们用所学英语描述自己的生日，让同学猜猜自己的生日。
在本节课上，我重点采用了一系列的单词教学活动，因材施教，如：分解识记，语音过渡识记，中英文联想识记等，让学生自己发现一些记忆的窍门，适当降低学生记单词的难度。
有效引导能力稍弱的学生加深对所学内容的理解，强化对月份类单词的认读。

今天我听了钱老师的这节课受益非浅。
钱老师教学环节过渡衔接自然，设计的语言环境真实，没有被教材所限制，先戴着生日帽，采用学生熟悉的《Happy Birthday》自然引入今天的对话主题。
在实际语言运用中，教学月份的单词时，满足学生的需求把1到12月都教了，同时为了提高单词的识记率，发动学生观察、联想，得到一些即有趣，又有效的方法，学生学习的兴趣很高。
兴趣是学习的动力.学习的最好刺激力量仍是对所学材料的兴趣。
因此钱老师在教学过程中很重视变换多种形式,吸引学生注意力。
在上课前,认真地准备好必需的教具,图片,教学光盘等，创设情景,大大激发学习兴趣,学生从中享受到学习英语乐趣。
本班学有困难学生较多,在单词,句子的朗读模仿上差距较大,教单词时,钱老师要求学生眼,耳,口,脑同时起作用,并要求学生根据音节,音标，联想记忆单词,每教一个单词,要求学生边读边写有意识地把单词的形象输入脑子里去,再把单词放在句子中,同时记忆和单词有关的词组和句子,效果很好。
通过图片,实物和情景,来教课文和对话,再让学生进行交际练习,他们掌握得特别快。
学生自然也觉得英语这门学科是比较轻松有趣的。
