湖南大学、中南大学、湖南师范大学3所自主招生试点院校开始考核环节，共有4378人进入湖南大学的考核环节，1965人进入中南大学的考核环节，
1304人进入湖南师范大学的考核环节。
201X年，全国共有90所高校参与自主招生试点，其中在湖南招生的高校
共有78所，湖南境内的高校包括湖南大学、中南大学和湖南师范大学3所高校。不过，和往年众多高校主动错开考核时间不同，今年，湖南大学、中南大学、
湖南师范大学的考核启动时间恰好重叠在一起，这也导致有意同时报考这3所
高校自主招生的考生失去部分机会。
近几年来，湖南省3所试点自主招生高校的招生计划趋于稳定，其中湖南
大学、中南大学维持在年度本科招生计划的5%左右，分别为250人和400人;
湖南师范大学的招生计划维持在年度本科招生计划的2%左右，约104人。
不同的学校，经过第一轮审核进入选拔程序的考生，最终的通过率也有很
大悬殊。其中，湖南大学的通过率最低，约为5.7%;湖南师范大学的通过率约
为8%;中南大学的通过率约为20%。湖南师大将于6月22日之前确定自主招生
入选考生名单，入选考生人数不超过招生计划数的2倍，考生可获得降至本科
一批线录取的优惠。

机械类专业需笔试两科，湖南大学的考核方式分为笔试和复试两个部分，
除了机械类(工程力学)专业的笔试包括两个科目之外，其他的7个专业均只需
考一个科目。
笔试考核重点为与报考专业相关的知识，复试重点考查考生的专业知识运
用能力及学习潜力。
考生需要注意的是，参加湖南大学的考核时，考生不得穿着校服、制服，
也不得携带各类电子产品以及佩戴校徽、手表和饰品等参加考试。
