本课时主要围绕“Then and now”这个核心话题来展开教学活动，这个话题是小学英语日常交际的重要组成部分，在整个小学英语体系中是必不可少的，它不仅贴近学生的生活实际，而且富有很强的实用性和趣味性，通过对本课的学习，培养学生如何对过去和现在作对比的表达能力。

该教师的这堂课充分利用了“在学中用，在用中学，学以致用”的原则，下面我从五个方面浅谈一下这堂课的亮点。
一、目标明确，环节紧凑该教师这节课语言目标是现在式和过去式的对比，通过Mike一家过去和现在对比的学习，了解和掌握过去式和现在式的表达，从而能够联系实际，谈谈自己的过去和现在。
该教师通过层层递进式的问题和丰富多彩的活动，让学生们全面了解课文内容，把握课文重点的同时，语言能力得到了全面的提升。
该教师紧扣then 和now，设计了多个环节，有小组活动，有结对活动，有师生互动，有生生互动，在丰富多彩的活动中，学生在收获知识的同时，也培养了综合运用语言的能力。
二、激趣导入，紧扣主题该教师在导入阶段，设计了一个与教师有关的活动，让学生去说说自己的老师，然后呈现自己的一张照片，让学生猜猜这是谁。
当学生们猜出这是教师30年前的照片时，在通过一段视频欣赏，让学生就视频内容，判断与老师相关的内容的对错。
这个环节，令我印象深刻。
一堂课的成功与否，在于开头是否能够成功吸引学生的注意力。
该教师在导入环节，设置的这个活动，与学生的生活紧密相关，因为是说自己的老师，所以学生有话可说，然后通过一些问题的呈现，让学生判断对错，一方面是考察学生视频观看的认真度以及对于信息提取的敏感度，另一方面是培养学生的口语表达能力。
又因为是与自己的教师有关，所以学生们很感兴趣，都积极参与到这个活动中来。
同时，这个导入环节又与本课的主题有关，在谈论该教师的过去和现在的同时，很自然的引入到新授课的学习。
三、开放性问题，激活学生思维该教师在这节课设计了5个开放性问题，在讲解Mike的现在和过去的时候，问学生“what can he do now?”;在分析Grandpa的过去和现在的时候，问学生“what’sthe differences between telephone and mobile phone? Which one do you prefer?”;以及“what else can we do on the internet?”“what’sthe difference between books and e-books?”,包括最后一个问题“what do you think of their life?”这五个开放性问题，都与主人公的过去和现在相关，同时也与我们的生活息息相关，所以当问题一抛出后，学生们有话可讲，在收获课文语言知识的同时，学生的思维能力得到很好的扩散，学生的语言表达能力得到了良好的提升。
