例如：six— sixthnineteen— nineteenth2．从第二十至第九十九整数第几十的形式由其对应的基数词改变结尾字母y为i，再加“eth”构成。
twenty——twentieth thirty——thirtieth表示第几十几时，用几十的基数词形式加上连字符“－”和个位序数词形式一起表示。
thirty-first 第三十一fifty-sixth 第五十六seventy-third 第七十三ninety-ninth 第九十九3．序数词的缩写形式有时，序数词可以用缩写形式来表示。
主要缩写形式有。
first——lst second——2ndthird——3rd fourth——4thsixth——6th twentieth——20thtwenty-third——23rd其中lst，2nd，3rd为特殊形式，其它的都是阿拉伯数字后加上th。

愚人节也称万愚节。
对于它的起源，较普遍的说法是起源于法国。
1564年，法国首先采用新改革的纪年法——格里历（即通用的阳历），以1月1日为一年的开端，改变了过去以4月1日作为新年开端的历法。
但一些因循守旧的人反对这种改革，依然固执的在4月1日这一天互送礼物，组织庆祝新年的活动。
主张改革的人对这些守旧者的做法大家嘲弄，他们中的一些人就在4月1日这天给顽固派赠送假礼物，邀请他们参加假庆祝会，并把这些受愚弄的人称为“四月傻瓜”或“上钩之鱼”。
从此，他们在这天互相愚弄，久而久之便成为法国流行的一种风俗。
愚人节最典型的活动是大家互相开玩笑，用假话捉弄对方。
