1Dear Editor,My name is Timmy and I'm 9 years old. I'm writing to you because I think kids should get longer recess times at school. Recess is my favorite part of the day, but it's way too short! We only get 20 minutes to play outside after lunch. That's not enough time at all. By the time I finish my chicken nuggets and slurp up the last drops of my chocolate milk, the recess bell is ringing for us to line up already. No fair!I really look forward to recess because I get to run around and let out all my ener-gy that builds up from sitting at my desk all morning. Learning new things is important, but it's also really hard to pay attention to the teacher when I have so much energy trapped inside me. Recess lets me get that energy out in a fun way by playing games like tag, jumping rope, or just running laps around the playground. After recess, I feel calmer and more focused, ready to listen to the teacher again. But with only 20 minutes, I don't have timeto really get my sillies out fully. I end up bringing some of that antsy energy back inside the classroom. That's why I think sitting still and concentrating for the rest of the afternoon is such a struggle for me and my friends. We need more running around time at recess!Bigger kids need even longer recesses than the little kids. The fifth graders have so much bottled up energy from growing so fast. I see them getting in trouble a lot in the afternoon for goofing off and not paying attention. I'll bet they'd behave better if they could have a nice, long 45 minute or an hour recess after lunch to really get their wiggles out.Recess is also important for making friends and learning social skills. The playground is where I get to practice sharing toys, taking turns on the swing set, and using my words instead of pushing when I get frustrated. Some kids struggle with knowing how to join a group game, but they can learn by watching others at recess. These are skills we need to prepare us for getting along in the real world when we're grown ups.Not only that, but getting exercise at recess time is helping us stay physically healthy. Obesity is a big problem nowadays with kids eating unhealthy food and spending too much time looking at screens instead of running around outside. Recessmakes sure we're moving our bodies and working up a good sweat each day, which keeps our hearts strong and prevents weight problems. I hope I can keep up an active lifestyle as I get older so I don't end up unhealthy like some adults I see.I've heard parents complaining that their kids are having too much recess time taken away for things like test preparation and extra lessons. But I think taking away recess is real short-sighted. Sure, maybe we'll do a teensy bit better on the standardized tests from spending a little more time studying. But we'll just struggle more with paying attention, fidgeting, and feeling antsy. Not to mention missing out on all the other benefits of recess I mentioned before. In my opinion, schools should actually increase recess time to 1 hour for kids my age, and even longer for the older grades. It makes way more sense to have well-rested, happier, healthier, and more focused students by giving us enough recess, rather than students who are tired, distracted, and bouncing off the walls from being stuck inside all day.Recess is a crucial part of the school day, just as important as core subjects like math, science, reading, and social studies. The skills I'm learning at recess about self-control, cooperation, and physical activity will stay with me for life. Not to mention theamazing childhood memories I'm creating of carefree fun with my friends in the outdoors! Every elementary school should make recess a priority, not an afterthought. We need MORE recess time, not less!Thank you for reading my letter. I hope it inspires you and others to advocate for longer recess periods. We kids need plenty of time to play and be kids in order to grow up healthy, smart, and socially well-adjusted. Recess rules!Your friend,Timmy篇2Dear Editor,My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I'm writing to you about something that happened at my school that I think people should know about. It was really exciting and crazy!Last week, we had a special visitor come to our class - a famous author! His name was Mr. Jonathan Bookworm and he wrote a bunch of adventure books for kids. I loved his books because they had awesome stories about explorers going onadventures in jungles and looking for lost treasures. The books always had really cool twists at the end too.Anyway, Mr. Bookworm came to talk to us about being an author and writing stories. He started by telling us how he gets his ideas for books. He said he gets inspiration from reading a lot, watching movies, talking to friends, and just using his imagination. He told us that writers have to be really creative and curious about the world around them. Then he asked if any of us kids liked writing stories ourselves.A bunch of us raised our hands because we do creative writing assignments sometimes in class. Mr. Bookworm called me up to the front of the class! I was really nervous but also excited. He asked me what kind of stories I like to write. I told him I write a lot of adventure and fantasy stories with knights, wizards, dragons and stuff like that. Mr. Bookworm seemed to really like that and said fantasy was one of his favorite genres too when he was a kid. After that, he started asking me questions about one of my recent stories to see how creative I could be. He wanted all the details - what the characters looked like, what kind of adventure they went on, how they solved problems, etc. I think I did a pretty good job because he seemed impressed! When I went back to my seat, Mr. Bookworm spent some time going over the basics of storytelling. He said every good story needs interesting characters, a clear setting, a plot with problems to overcome, and a cool ending with surprises or lessons learned. He gave us examples from his own books. But then the really exciting part happened! Mr. Bookworm told us we were all going to work on an creative writing exercise as a class. He had us divide into small groups and then gave each group a different wacky scenario to start a story with. I was kind of confused at first but it turned out to be so much fun!My group's scenario was: "A brother and sister find a glowing pocket watch that can control time." We had to come up with details like the siblings' names, ages, personalities, where they found the watch, and then start planning out what kind of adventures they could have with a time travel watch. The other groups got scenarios like "A young genius inventor creates a flying bike that runs on soap bubbles" or "Three teddy bears discover an abandoned toy factory and decide to bring it back to life." Just totally wacky and weird premises to get our creative juices flowing! We had 30 minutes to discuss our ideas in our groups and make some notes. Mr. Bookworm walked around the class andlistened in, giving us feedback and suggestions. When time was up, he called on each group to pitch their story ideas to the rest of the class.Listening to everyone's silly but incredibly creative stories was a blast! The ideas kids came up with were just so imaginative and funny. Mr. Bookworm praised every group for theirout-of-the-box thinking. When we were done, Mr. Bookworm explained that this was a good exercise for writing because it forced us to take a completely random premise and use our creativity and problem-solving skills to turn it into a logical story. He said all stories, even realistic ones, start with a writer's imagination going to new places. Before he left, Mr. Bookworm gave us one last piece of advice: he said the most important thing for writers is to read as many books as possible. Reading exposesyou to an endless supply of ideas, writing styles, characters, and stories to inspire your own writing. He even gave each student in our class one of his books signed with an inspiring quote about the power of reading and writing. That visit from Mr. Bookworm was just such an amazing experience. It really opened my eyes to howmuch fun creativewriting can be. I've already started working on continuing the story my group started about the time travel watch. Getting encouragement from an actual author makesmebelieve that maybe I could be a writer someday too!I just wanted to share this story because I think it's important for kids to have more opportunities like this in school. Having experiences that sparkinspiration, curiosity and creativity is what makes learning fun. It definitely worked onme! I can't wait to read more books and work on my writing skills. Who knows where my imagination could take me?Thanks for reading my letter! I hope sharing this positive experience will inspire other students, teachers and schools to do more creative activities. It's so much cooler than just reading from textbooks. Please let me know if you need any other details!Sincerely,Timmy篇3Dear Editor,My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I'm writing to you about the second unit in my big brother's Grade 11 Englishtextbook called "Cultural Relics and Cultural Traditions." Even though I'm just a kid, I found this unit really interesting! The first passage was about the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an, China. I'd heard of them before but didn't know much about them. The passage said they were life-sized clay soldier statues that were buried underground for over 2,000 years to guard an emperor's tomb! Can you imagine - thousands of detailed soldier statues, each with a different facial expression and everything. The emperor must have been super wealthy and powerful. What I found really cool though, was the next part about how they were first discovered in 1974 by some farmers who were digging a well. They stumbled upon this underground pit filled with broken pieces of the clay warriors! I'd love to be an archeologist and make an amazing discovery like that. Getting to dig in the dirt, brush away dust, and slowly uncover treasures from long ago. Although I guess dealing with robbers who want to steal artifacts would be the not-so-fun part. The passage also talked about some of the mysteries around the Terracotta Army, like why they were buried and how they were made. No one is totally sure! My favorite theory is that the emperor wanted the soldiers to come to life in the afterlife toprotect him. Wouldn't that be crazy if they magically became real soldiers? I'd be so scared if I was exploring those pits and the statues started moving!Another cool part was reading about how the pioneers who first dug up and handled the warriors way back then didn't have the same preservation knowhow as today. So some of the original artifacts they found were damaged just from being exposed to air and light. Makes you realize how important it is to properly care for ancient items. Although I don't always remember to be that careful with my things! After learning about the Terracotta Army, the unit moved on to talking about cultural traditions in general. We read about things like traditional festivals, arts and crafts, legends and myths. It highlighted traditions from all around the world which I thought was really interesting to compare and contrast. One tradition I especially liked learning about was the Zuni Pueblo people's tradition of telling stories using carved figurines and moving them around a sandbox. How creative is that? The storyteller choreographs this little scene in the sand to bring their folktales to life. I'd love to try making my own miniature scene and retelling a story that way. Maybe I'll do it with my Star Wars action figures! The readings also discussed the importance of protecting cultural heritage and passing down traditions from generation to generation. It talked about how some traditions are at risk of being lost or forgotten in today's fast-paced, modern world. That made me feel sad to think about pieces of different cultures slowly disappearing. We should appreciate the unique traditions that make societies special. What I didn't really like were the writing exercises in this unit. There were a bunch of prompts asking us to compare modern life to the old days, discuss the pros and cons of preserving cultural heritage sites, or describe a meaningful tradition from our own culture. As a 10-year-old, those types of heavy, philosophical writing topics aren't exactly my forte! I'd much rather write a funny short story or something.Although now that I think about it, I do have one tradition that's meaningful to me - my dad's famous pancakes! Every Saturday morning he wakes up early to make pancakes from scratch using his great-grandma's secret recipe. The smell of them cooking makes my mouth water. We always smother them with butter and syrup, then maybe blend some up to make milkshakes if there are leftovers. It's a tradition mygreat-great-grandma started after they moved to America, andone I hope continues forever because those pancakes are delicious! So yeah, that's my take on this unit all about cultural relics, traditions, and heritage. I realize as a little kid my perspective might be a bit different and sillier than a high school student's. But I think it's cool to learn about humans' oldest artifacts, stories, and customs - it makes you appreciate how amazing and creative people are across all cultures. Even if writing deep essays about it isn't really my thing! Thanks for letting me share my thoughts, Editor! Let me know if you need any more kid commentary on tricky school topics. This 10-year-old brain is full of all kinds of wacky wisdom.Your Friend,Timmy。

letter to the editor范文

While adhering to the requirement of maintaining a word count of over 1000 words, I shall endeavor to articulate my ideas in a coherent and thought-provoking manner. The topic I wish to discuss is the impact of technology on interpersonal relationships. But I feel so troublesome that I hope they can stop. Everyday my parents are around to help me do everything I can do by myself. Their behavior makes me feel so bad! Dear Editor,As is often read in the newspaper reports, wild life especially the rare species is threatened with extinction. Human beings are making attempts to hunt wild animals for a big profit., which, of course, results in a sharp decrease in the number of animals. So it is high time for us to take quick action to protect them. First of all, it's quite necessary for every citizen to realize the importance of animal protection. Only by knowing its importance can people develop a sense of responsibility. People will surely take it for granted to have the duty to prevent any killing of wild animals. So a national publicity campaign should be launched, thus giving animals a good living environment. In addition, the government should pass some laws to forbid any hunting of rare animals. We don't expect anything harmful to wild life to happen again. If everyone is involved in the protection of wild life, we're sure man will be a good friend of animals rather than their enemy. Dear editor,Recently, our class have had a heated discussion about whether the Beijing Zoo should be moved out of the city.

Dear editor,
I wrote to tell you about my worry. In the past my hometown was a beautiful place with green hills around our village. But in recent years, more and more trees have been cut down because people wanted to build more houses and grow more crops. As time went on, the green hills have turned into a wasteland. It is hard to grow things on it. Besides, sandstorms struck us now and then, which brought us a lot of hardships. So, I do hope that all the people should be aware of the importance of protecting the environment. Thinking of the terrible result, we shouldn't cut more trees without planting them any more. Without the forest we wouldn't live a better life.
