It was crazy!Now I know what you're thinking - "Xiaoming, you're way too young to be taking that huge test! It's for high school seniors getting ready for college." And you're right, I'm just a kid. But you see, my English is really really good. I'm basically an English expert for my age.It all started when my mom signed me up for an afterschool English tutoring program when I was in 1st grade. At first, I'll admit, I wasn't too excited about giving up my play time to study. But then I got totally hooked on learning English! The grammar, the vocabulary, listening to natives speakers - I just couldn't get enough.By the time 2nd grade rolled around, I was reading at a middle school level in English. My tutor said I had excellent pronunciation and writing abilities too. That's when we hatched the big plan - I would try to take the English portion of the Gaokao exam as practice!My parents weren't so sure at first. "Xiaoming, that test is extremely difficult. It's meant for teenagers who have studied English for many years," my dad warned me. But I was determined.
