教材以A Trip to the Silk Road 为第一个主题,阐述了Jenny, Danny, 李明和他们的同学一起沿丝绸之路且游且学,了解了很多中国的历史和文化。

除此之外,还涉猎到School Life, After School Activities, Seasons, Sports and Good Health 和Summer Holiday 等话题。

其中每个单元都列出明确的语言目标,主要的功能项和语法结构,需要掌握的基本词汇,并且设有复习题目。

该教材的一个亮点就是每节课后还有self-check 部分,供学生检测本课所学语言知识之用。

语篇研读What:本课语篇是一段Jenny和父母的对话,主要介绍了Jenny的学校正在组织一次去丝绸之路的旅行,Jenny向父母征求许可,最后得到了父母的同意。

Why:对话通过Jenny向父母征求许可去丝绸之路旅行,向我们展示了如何去征求许可,以及如何表达去某地旅行,并为后面几课的内容安排做好了铺垫。

How:语篇采用对话的形式,语言比较口语化。

先由Jenny向父母说明他们正在了解丝绸之路,然后提出学校正在组织一次去中国的旅行,并向父母征求许可。

在看了学校的通知后,父母答应了Jenny 的请求。
