1. 第一次备课是按单元,备课组每位教师自己根据课标、教材、教参等自己进行“粗备”;
2. 第二次备课是备课组集体备课,大家就自己对教材的理解分别陈述各自的备课方案,如提出采用何种方法解决教材中的重点、难点问题等,采用“说课”的形式,通过讨论比较,做到扬长避短,统一思想,达成共识;
3. 第三次备课是主备教师根据大家的意见进行整理,按教学设计的基本要求写出教案,或为备课的预案,分发给同组其他教师参考;
4. 第四次备课是每位教师根据自己的专业素养、教学风格,并正对所在班级学生的实际情况对教案进行调整、补充和删减,使之成为适合在该班学生中应用的“计划书”;

1English Group Lesson Planning Activity SummaryAs an English major, one of the most valuable experiences I've had is participating in our weekly group lesson planning sessions. Every Thursday afternoon, my classmates and I gather to collaborate on preparing lesson plans and materials for the following week's teaching practicum. It's a dynamic and engaging process that has not only improved my lesson planning abilities but also strengthed my teamwork and communication skills.Last week's session was particularly productive and insightful. We began by quickly reviewing the previous week's lessons and addressing any issues or feedback from our supervisor. Jasmine mentioned that her young learners had difficulty grasping the concept of adverbs of frequency, so we spent some time brainstorming more interactive ways to teach that grammar point.Once we had that sorted out, it was time to dive into planning for the upcoming week. Our first step was to analyze the target language goals and themes outlined in the curriculum. For the lower-level students, the focus was on describing daily routines using simple present tense verbs. The higher-level group would be learning how to narrate past events and experiences using a variety of past tenses.Splitting into two teams based on the proficiency levels, we started mapping out potential warmup activities, presentations, practice exercises, and games. I was amazed by the creativity my classmates showed in designing painless ways to convey rather dry grammatical concepts. Despite their varied backgrounds and teaching styles, everyone contributed unique ideas while respecting each other's suggestions. My team decided to incorporate plenty of visuals, realia, and Total Physical Response (TPR) activities to make the simple present Pattern Practice exercises more engaging for young learners. For instance, we planned to use colorful picture cards representing different actions like "eat," "sleep," and "brush teeth" to drill the third person "-s" endings. The students would arrange the cards into sentences like "He eats at 7pm" or create new ones of their own.Meanwhile, the other group outlined a series of conversational roleplays to help advanced students practice narrating in different past tenses. One particularly brilliant idea was to have students narrate mishaps or funny childhood incidents, swapping between past simple for completed events and past continuous for background actions. To scaffold this, we would first analyze the tenses in a model dialogue and highlight the subtle shifts between viewpoints.Of course, no lesson plan would be complete without accounting for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction. We identified potential modifications like simplified language, visuals, and hands-on support for students with special needs. For higher-ability pupils, we discussed the possibility of open-ended writing assignments and research projects to extend their learning.Besides preparing the core instructional materials, we also collaboratively developed supplementary handouts, flashcards, and multimedia resources like video clips and PowerPoint slides for concept illustrations. Our faculty mentor frequently reminds us that effective teaching requires multi-modal input, so we made an effort to incorporate engaging visuals, audio, and kinesthetic activities at every stage of the lesson. One of my favorite aspects of these sessions is the opportunity to gain insight from my peers' diverse teaching philosophies and experiences. For example, Amir had taught in the Middle East for several years before joining our program. He walked us through techniques he had success with for generating student-led discussions and developing critical thinking skills. On the other hand, Julia had worked primarily with very young learners and knew all the latest games and chants for kinetic classroom management. I certainly gained a plethora of new strategies to experiment with in my own classes. As the session drew to a close, we transitioned into reviewing and refining each other's materials. This phase is crucial for identifying any gaps, inconsistencies, or areas that need further clarification. My classmates pointed out a few instances where my grammar terminology and examples needed adjustment to align with the specific lesson objectives. I appreciated their attention to detail, as it allowed me to produce a much tighter, more cohesive lesson flow.Likewise, I tried to provide constructive criticism on my peers' work, highlighting strengths and potential areas for improvement. For instance, I suggested Jalil consider including a brief review segment to spiral previously taught vocabulary intohis new lesson. For Dawitt's lesson, I recommended frontloading a few key idioms and cultural references since the dialogue she chose included quite a bit of colloquial language.Overall, these weekly group sessions have been an indispensable part of my development as an English teacher. Beyond just creating lesson materials, I've had the chance to collaborate with a diverse team, debate differing approaches, and receive valuable feedback in a low-stakes environment. My skills in areas like planning, time management, professional communication and conflict resolution have improved immensely.More importantly, participating in this process has reinforced the stark differences between technician teaching and holistic teaching artistry. Rather than simply downloading and regurgitating prescribed curricula, my classmates and Ico-construct rich, culturally responsive lessons tailored to our students' specific contexts and needs. We integrate educational theory, cultural pedagogy, and our own experiences into creative materials that foster engaged, empowered learning communities. While the process can sometimes be stressful andtime-consuming, I'm incredibly grateful for these opportunitiesto grow alongside my peers. Each session leaves me with new insights, strategies, and motivation to continually refine my craft. After all, the hallmark of a truly great teacher is the willingness to remain a lifelong learner, consistently seeking improvement. Thanks to group lesson planning, I've gained invaluable experience collaborating with colleagues towards that noble pursuit.篇2Group Lesson Planning Activity RecapThis week in English class, we did something a bit different than our usual lessons. Instead of our teacher just giving us a lecture or having us read from our textbooks, we broke into small groups and got to try our hand at being the teachers for once! The assignment was for each group to plan out an entire 50-minute lesson on a certain grammar or vocabulary topic. At first, I wasn't sure what to think about this activity. I've never really had to think about how to actually design a whole lesson plan before. Isn't that what teachers are for? But Mr. Robertson explained that getting experience with lesson planning would help us better understand how to effectively learn and teach new material. He also said it would be goodpractice for our public speaking skills having to present our lesson plan to the rest of the class. We split into our pre-assigned groups of 4-5 students each, and each group randomly pulled a topic out of a hat. My group ended up with modals - those helping verbs like can, should, must, etc. I didn't think it would be too difficult since we've learned modals before, but putting together examples and activities to teach the topic was trickier than I expected. The first step was delegating roles and responsibilities within our group. This was a little chaotic at first with everyone throwing out ideas, but we eventually settled on having one person be the lead presenter, another finding examples and practice sentences, two others focused on creating an engaging activity or game, and the last person keeping us organized with notes and a lesson plan outline. I volunteered to be the lead presenter.Developing a whole lesson from scratch is hard work! We had to think through what key teaching points to cover, how to clearly explain the grammar rules, and put together examples progressing from simple to more complex. Just finding good example sentences that illustrated modals in context was reallydifficult. I have a newfound appreciation for how much prep work goes into creating effective lessons. But the biggest challenge ended up being designing an interactive, fun activity that could reinforce the modal lessons and get the whole class practicing. We tossed around ideas like awhiteboards race, Kahoot quiz, or having students write sentences on the board. Finally, we decided to create a "Mission Possible" game where groups had to accurately use modals to successfully navigate through a series of challenges and obstacles.Putting it all together into a cohesive 50-minute plan with an engaging introduction, clear teaching points, comprehension checks, the interactive activity, a recap, and closing was intense. By the time we finished our preparation, I felt like I had been through a whirlwind experience of what it's like being a teacher! I can't imagine having to put that much work into creating fresh, engaging lesson plans every single day. When it was finally time to deliver our lessons in front of the class, I was pretty nervous. Speaking clearly, managing a classroom, and keeping students engaged is not easy! But I have to admit, there was a bit of fun and satisfaction getting to take the lead for once instead of just being a student. As each group took their turn teaching their grammar or vocabulary topic, I was really impressed by the creativity and effort my classmates put in. Samuel's group did an awesome job with their lesson on count/non-count nouns, creating a humorous situation where students had to distinguish between types of nouns to escape from a locked room. The group teaching adjective clauses creatively used Instagram posts and tweets as engaging context. And the preposition group totally nailed their delivery with their "Missed Connections" activity where we had to write personal ads using spatial prepositions like behind, under, next to, etc. Some lessons flowed better than others, but overall I thought everyone did a great job - especially considering it was our first timetern teaching! Lessons that involved movement, teamwork, and elements of play definitely kept us much more engaged compared to lectures or practice worksheets alone. I also found myself better understanding and retaining concepts I previously had struggled with thanks to these interactive peer lessons. All in all, while this group lesson planning project was lots of work, it ended up being a really rewarding experience. I have a totally new appreciation for how much thought and preparationgoes into designing effective lessons that reinforce understanding through engaging activities and examples. It's definitely not as simple as just lecturing on concepts day after day.I also realized I took for granted how well-planned Mr. Robertson's lessons always are, seamlessly incorporating reviews, multimedia materials, discussions, and creative practices to solidify our learning. This project made me respect the art of teaching a lot more. Is it too late to add "Education" as a possible major? Most of all though, I really enjoyed the creative collaboration of working as a team to tackle this hands-on assignment. Seeing my classmates' enthusiasm as peer instructors and the pride we all felt delivering our polished lessons was energizing. In a way, we got a little taste of what it's like being on the other side as a teacher - the preparation, the ownership, the performance. While I don't think I'll be pursuing a career as an educator anytime soon, this English lesson planning project was an awesome change of pace from our regular routine. It pushed us outside our comfort zones to think critically about effective teaching methods rather than just passive learning. It was the perfect creativity, problem-solving and public speakingchallenge rolled into one. I definitely feel like I leveled up some key learning skills through this experience. Thanks for an unexpectedly epic assignment, Mr. Robertson!篇3Collaborative Lesson Planning: A Path to Professional GrowthAs an English major student, I recently had the privilege of observing and participating in a collaborative lesson planning session among a group of experienced English teachers. This insightful experience not only deepened my understanding of the intricate art of lesson design but also unveiled the transformative power of collective wisdom in shaping a conducive learning environment. The session commenced with a warm welcome from the lead teacher, who emphasized the significance of collaboration in enhancing our pedagogical practices. She underscored the fact that no individual holds a monopoly on knowledge, and by pooling our collective expertise, we could unlock invaluable perspectives and innovative strategies to captivate our students' curiosity and nurture their love for language learning. The initial phase of the session involved a candid discussion of the overarching goals and learning objectives for the upcoming unit on persuasive writing. Each teacher contributed their unique insights, drawing from their respective experiences and areas of specialization. It was a symphony of perspectives, where diverse viewpoints harmonized to create a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. One teacher, with a background in rhetoric and composition, emphasized the importance of equipping students with the ability to construct well-reasoned arguments and effectively refute counterarguments. Another, with a passion for creative writing, advocated for incorporating engaging prompts and real-world examples to ignite students' imaginations and foster a deeper connection with the art of persuasion. As the discussion unfolded, a shared vision began to emerge, one that transcended the boundaries of individual disciplines and embraced a holistic approach to language learning. The teachers recognized the interconnectedness of various language skills – reading, writing, speaking, and listening – and thus, they collectively devised strategies to seamlessly integrate these components into the unit. One particularly insightful moment occurred when a teacher raised concerns about the potential challenges students might face in comprehending complex rhetorical devices. This sparked a lively exchange, where teachers shared their tried-and-tested techniques for breaking down abstract concepts into tangible, relatable examples. It was a true testament to the power of collective wisdom, where each contributor brought forth their unique experiences, enabling the group to anticipate and address potential roadblocks proactively. The session then transitioned into a collaborative brainstorming phase, where teachers worked together to design engaging lesson plans and instructional materials. The room buzzed with a palpable energy as ideas bounced back and forth, each contributor adding their unique perspective to the mix. It was a dynamic interplay of creativity and practicality, where theoretical concepts were transformed into tangible,student-centered activities.Throughout the process, the teachers demonstrated an unwavering commitment to catering to diverse learning styles and ensuring an inclusive learning environment. They meticulously crafted differentiated instructional strategies, incorporating visual aids, kinesthetic activities, and digitalresources to cater to the needs of all learners, regardless of their preferred learning modalities. As the session drew to a close, the teachers reflected on the collaborative process, acknowledging the enriching experience and the collective growth they had undergone. It highlighted the profound impact that collective wisdom can have on shaping a rich and engaging learning environment. By embracing diverse perspectives and fostering a culture of collaboration, these teachers not only enhanced their professional practices but also set an exemplary model for nurturing a love for language learning in their students. As I embark on my journey as a future educator, I carry with me the invaluable lessons gleaned from this experience. I am inspired to cultivate an ethos of collaboration, where the exchange of ideas and collective expertise are celebrated as catalysts for pedagogical excellence.
