Paraphrase
例如: babysitter可Paraphrase为“a person who takes care of babies for a living while their parents are out”。
If you are deaf, you cannot hear.2.
[1]例如:decrease―not increase, unfortunately―unluckily, frustrated―upset, astonish―amaze―surprise等等。
例如:“He often uses computer”可Paraphrase 为“He is a frequent user of computer”。
又如:“He can speak English fluently”可Paraphrase为“He is a fluent English speaker”等等。
①Scientists are developing new drugs to treat swine flu. (successfully make a product)――从无到有的渐变过程②James has developed into a charming young man. (gradually grow or change into)――从不成熟到成熟的渐变过程③He developed an interest in science. (gradually form)――从弱到强的渐变过程④I think these photos will look nice when they’re developed. (using chemicals to make a photo out of a film)――从模糊到清晰的渐变过程上述develop都表现了一种变化过程,因为提供的微型语境不同从而产生不同的含义。
NSEFC Book 1 Unit 2 English around the world重点词汇为例:1. voyage (C)A. often2. frequently (A)B. in fact3. the latter (E) C. long trip by sea or in space4. actually (B) D. be able to speak or write alanguage well5. fluent (D)E. the second of two thingsor people already mentionedb.
以NSEFC Book 2 Unit 1 Cultural relics重点词组belong to为例:belong to phr v [T] 1. to be the property of: That coat belongs to me. 2. to be a part of; be connected with: That top belongs to this box. 3. to be a member of: He belongs to a large family.A. Do you belong to the UN peace-keepingforce? (3)B. Which computer does this mouse belong to? (2)C.I don’t doubt that the gold ring belongs to her.
1. ________ made of wood (wooden)2. ________ to choose carefully(select)3. ________ to take something away(remove)4. ________ not seen or found very often (rare)5. ________ person who creates works of art (artist)b.
以NSEFC Book 4 Unit 1 Women of achievement重点词汇为例: Across1. the number of times something happens2. an expert in a special branch of work or study3. to state something and give the reasons why you think it is trueDown4. to watch something carefully, especially in order to learn about it5. to send things to a place; to help a woman give birth to her baby6. a planned set of activities that people carry out overtime in order to achieve something(3)意义替换a.
NSEFC Book 4 Unit 3 A taste of English humour重点词汇为例:1. You don’t have to whisper. No one can hear us. (B)2. People began to whisper that the company might go out of business. (A)A. talk secretly, especially when spreading rumoursB. speak softlyb.
Paraphrase

Only occasionally he becomes aware of them, and then because they are so disturbing, he puts them aside as quickly as possible.。
Howtoparaphrase
My car needs petrol.变成:My vehicle requires fuel.Clovis argued that significant improvements were required.变成:Clovis stated that substantial progress was needed.Students’responses to the questionnaire were collected quickly.变成:Students’answers to the survey were obtained rapidly.
As languages such as Spanish, Chinese and English become more widely used, there is a fear that that many minoritylanguages may die out.变成:There is a fear that many minority languages may die out, as languages such as Spanish, Chinese and English become more widely used.I finished my undergraduate study at University of Leicester in 1996.变成In 1996,I got my bachelor degree from University of Leicester.

Paraphrase
programming.

The movie was so good that we all went to see it again and again.
解析:在原文中,“so good”表示电影非常棒,“that we all went to see it again and again”表示我们不断地去看它。

阅读教学原则Torgesen(1998)提出以下阅读原则:1. 培养流畅的阅读者阅读教学的模式主要有三种:自上而下的模式(the top-down approach),自下而上模式(the bottom-up approach),交互补偿模式(the interactive-compensatory approach)。
