高等学校英语应用能力考试B级(以下简称PRETCO-B)考试大纲
一、 考试对象
PRETCO-B适用于达到高职教育英语课程基础要求的高等职业教育、普通高
职高专教育、成人高等教育和本科独立学院非英语专业的学生。
二、 考试性质
本考试的目的是考核考生的英语基础知识和语言技能,以及使用英语进行简
单的涉外日常交际与业务交际的能力,其性质是教学——水平考试。
三、 考试方式与内容
考试方式为笔试,包括五个部分:听力理解、词汇与语法结构、阅读理解、
翻译(英译汉)和写作/汉译英。

第一部分:听力理解(Listening Comprehension)
本部分测试考生理解所听问题并快速做出回答、理解简短对话和听写词语的
能力。听力材料的朗诵语速为每分钟100词。
听力材料以简单的涉外日常交际和涉外业务交际内容为主。词汇限于本大纲
“词汇表”中B级范围。
本部分的得分占总分的24%。测试时间为25分钟。

第二部分:词汇与语法结构(Vocabulary & Structure)
本部分测试考生运用词语和语法知识的能力。测试内容包括职业教育英语课
程涉及的基础词汇用法和基础语法。词汇范围限于本大纲“词汇表”中B级范围。
本部分的得分占总分的15%。测试时间为10分钟。

第三部分:阅读理解(Reading Comprehension)
本部分测试考生从书面文字材料获取信息的能力。总阅读量约为800词。
本部分测试的文字材料包括一般性阅读材料(文化、社会、常识、科普、经
贸、人物等)和简单的应用性文字材料(或图文),不包括诗歌、小说、散文等
文学性材料;其内容能为各专业学生所理解。应用性文字材料(术语、简历、便
条、广告、简单便函、日程表、单证等)占50%左右。
本部分主要测试以下阅读技能:
1. 了解语篇和段落的主旨和大意;
2. 掌握语篇中的事实和主要情节;
3. 了解语篇上下文的逻辑关系;
4. 了解作者的目的、态度和观点;
5. 根据上下文正确理解生词的意思;
6. 了解语篇的结论;
7. 进行信息转换。
阅读材料涉及的词汇限于本大纲“词汇表”中B级范围。

第四部分:翻译——英译汉(Translation—English into Chinese)
本部分测试考生将英语正确译成汉语的能力。所译材料为句子和段落,包括
一般性内容(约占60%)和应用性内容(约占40%);所涉及的词汇限于本大纲“词
汇表”中B级范围。
本部分的得分占总分的15%。测试时间为25分钟。

第五部分:写作/汉译英(Writing/Translation—Chinese into English)
本部分测试考生填写英文表格、书写应用性短文、或将简短的汉语应用性文
字翻译成英语的能力。
本部分的得分占总分的15%。测试时间为25分钟。

高等学校英语应用能力考试 (B级)PRACTICAL ENGLISH TEST FOR COLLEGES 【应用文写作(Practical Writing)1.Personal/Business letters (私人/商务书信)1.私人信函通常包括一下5个部分:a.日期(Date):通常出现在信页的右上方。

b.称呼语(Opening):称呼收信者,通常是“Dear”后跟收信者姓名,再加上逗号或者冒号。

c.正文(Body):写信者要传达的信息,一个或者多个段落。

d.结尾(Closing):表示礼貌,谦恭,祝愿等的短语(如All the best,Best wishes,或者Yours Truly,Yours Sincerely,Yours Faithfully),后跟都逗号。

e.签名(Signature):如收信者是熟人,签上写信者的名即可,否则,签上全名(名+姓)。

注:如是商务书信,须在日期前面加上信内地址(Inside address)2. 书信格式:英文书信基本上可以分为三种:板块式,半板块式和缩进式。

a.板块式又成为齐头式(Block style),其特点是所有部分都从左边开。

每行左边上下对齐,成一直线。

b.半板块式(Modified Block Style)与板块式基本相同,只是日期,结尾,签名均从信纸中央偏右起写,其余部分从左边起写,左对齐。

c.缩进式(Indented Style)与半板块式基本相同,其不同之处在:正文中的每一段第一行需要缩进4到5个字母。

3. 地址的写法;信封上收信人地址宝库奥收信人的姓名,地址(按照次序为门牌号,街道名,城市名,国家名)和邮政编码。

应该注意的是:收信人的姓名,街道,地址的首字母都要答谢。

称呼“Mr”或“Mrs”可写可不写。

头衔或者职称写在人名之后。

当信函需要第三者转收时,则需要收信人名字下方协商转收人的姓名,并在其姓名前面写上C/o(care of 的缩写,相当于“请收转”)。
