A short time ago , traveling aboard was not common for average person but for tourists or rich
businessmen. As time goes by, it is easy for people fly to distant pleasure by plane now. With the
development of transportation, many young adults decide to study aboard. It is difficult for foreign
sudents to adapt to different culture.
A student who studies aboard will leave his familiar enviroment and he does not know intangible
aspects of foreign country. When he leaves all he knows, he will find everything is strange. The aburpt
change often leads to a reaction called culture shock. The original symptoms of culture shock are
homesick, irritable, unhappy and very sensitive. An insecure newcomer suffers from a more serious
case of culture shock than a mature and realistic person. International students are likely to complain
about everthing. Although complaining provides temporary satisfaction, it doesn’t help you out. Best
way is positive attitude, determination, flexibility and a sense of humor.
Here are some suggestions can remit culture shock. First, you can learn to get familiar with the
environment, people and perhaps start a friendship. Second, you should be friendly with you
classmates and spend time with them. Third, you can do something you like to relax youself. Forth,
you should be confident and get more communcations with native people. Fifth, be flexible and have
a passitive mind.
With the right attitude ,living in a freign country can be priceless and will be your good experience.
