dialogue这个单词你一定认识,它的中文意思是“对话(a conversation between two or more persons)”。

When it comes to offering feedback or suggestions in a polite and constructive manner, the English language provides a variety of phrases and strategies that can be employed to ensure the message is wellreceived. Here are some tips and examples to help you craft a tactful and effective piece of writing:1. Start with a Positive Note: Begin your feedback with something positive about the work or the person. This sets a friendly tone and makes the recipient more receptive to what follows.I really appreciate the effort youve put into this project.2. Use I Statements: Frame your feedback in terms of your own perceptions and experiences to avoid sounding accusatory.I noticed that there might be room for improvement in the...3. Be Specific: Instead of making vague statements, point out specific areas that could be enhanced. On page three, the argument could be strengthened with additional data.4. Offer Solutions: When you point out an issue, its helpful to also suggest a possible solution or alternative.Perhaps including a case study from a similar project could clarify your point.5. Use Softeners: Words and phrases that soften the impact of your feedback can be very effective.I think, It might be beneficial to consider, In my opinion, You might want to think about...6. Encourage Dialogue: Make it clear that your feedback is part of an ongoing conversation and not the final word.Id love to hear your thoughts on this and discuss further.7. End on a Positive Note: Just as you started with a positive comment, end your feedback on a positive or hopeful note.Im confident that with a few adjustments, this will be an outstanding piece of work. Heres a sample paragraph incorporating these strategies:Your presentation on renewable energy was engaging and informative. I particularly enjoyed the section on solar power. However, I noticed that the statistics on wind energy could be updated for more impact. It might be beneficial to consider including the latest figures from the Energy Information Administration. This would not only strengthen your argument but also provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of renewable energy sources. Id be happy to discuss this further and explore other ways to enhance your presentation. Im confident that with these small adjustments, your work will be even more effective.Remember, the goal of offering feedback is to help improve and not to criticize. By using these techniques, you can ensure that your suggestions are received positively and lead to constructive outcomes.。

Dialogue: making apology
Situation 3: You are a clerk in a company. Your boss asks you to go to a meeting on a certain day. But you end up getting there late. So you both apologize and offer an excuse to your boss. He forgives you and you promise to be on time in the future.
C—Clerk (Anna) B—Boss (Mr. Black)
C: [Knock, Knock] May I come in?
B: Come in, please.
C: Excuse me, Mr. Black, I’m here to offer my most sincere apologies for the delay of the new product release meeting with our customers this morning, which was totally due to my being late.
B: Anna, remember the first credo of our company?
C: Yes, Mr. Black. It’s “Being punctual whenever and wherever”.
B: Well, Anna, you are such a brilliant staff that you always show high sense of responsibility for your work and achieve good performance, and that was why I appointed you to be the host of this important meeting. It should begin at 9a.m. and you were supposed to have arrived ahead of time to make preparations.
C: I can’t say how sorry I am for the unexpected lateness. In fact, I set out for the meeting much earlier than usual and I was predicted to arrive 0.5h in advance to get myself prepared, but I was held up by a traffic jam caused by a car accident. But anyway, it was all my fault. B: I understand completely, but as a professional, you should be well-prepared for any unexpected situation.
C: I can’t agree with you more Mr. Black. I will be much more careful in planning in future. Buy the way, I’m thinking about visiting every customer with a car efully selected gift to express my most earnest apologies.
