Learning strategies:Students can learn strategies about how to get the meaning of the new words and about memorizing the meaning of new words with the
help of paraphrase.
Ability Aim: Students can develop their reading skills: skimming, scanning, then find useful information and solve the problem about the passage and improve
the communicating and writing abilities.
Emotion Aim: students are willing to help others with the help of what they have learned in class.
Important point: getting students have ideas on traffic jam through reading and solve problems.
Difficult point:leading students talk about it.
Teaching methods: task based teaching, situational language teaching

Procedures:
Step 1: Leading in
1.Declare this lesson task: We are going to learn the part of Cultural Corner in
Module 2.
2.Play a word-guessing game and write “compete” on the blackboard.
Show students words and ask them to guess their meanings.
Purpose: To arouse the students’ interest and introduce the topic The London congestion Charge in a natural way.
Step2: Pre- reading
Ask students to use the words to make sentences.
Purpose: To lead students learn new words and master them and make them get well ready for the following step---reading the text
Step 3: Reading-----fast reading
Ask students to go through the passage and answer:
1.What was the traffic problem in London?
City centre traffic jams have been part of daily life for a long time. In central London, drivers spent fifty percent of their time in queues.
2. what is the solution of the problem?
Introduced a “congestion charge”.
3 what is a congestion charge?
A tax for cars entering the center of the city.
4 What do the Londoners think of the idea?
Some people think the congestion charge is expensive, and limits their freedom while others think the charge should be much higher.
Purpose: To help students get the main idea of the text for the first reading
2 Watch a survey report and discuss it in groups.
According to the survey, please say something about traffic problems as much as possible, such as problems,reasons ,solutions and so on.
Purpose: To help students know more about traffic jams and to lead them make use of some patterns and help them understand traffic problems easily.

学习英语的最终目的不是为了高考,是为了培养学生们的英语运用能力。
所以本堂课我把听说读写能力贯穿始终,把课堂留给学生,我发现学生们的积极性非常高,每个学生都积极的参与到课堂活动当中,把最精彩的自己展现出来。
我们要多发现学生们在英语方面的闪光点,给他们创造体现价值感的机会,从而爱上学习英语。
本堂课存在的不足是学生们的英语思维能力不强,有的环节反应过慢,以后要加强学生在这方面的能力。
