It's very small, just 163 square kilometers, about 6,000 people live here.There are 887 stone statues on the island, most of them near the sea. These statues have big heads and small bodies. Their noses are very big and their ears are very long. A statue is about 4 to 10 metres tall and weighs about 90 tonnes, about as much as an 18-year-old elephant. The bodies of some statues are buried in the ground, and now we can only see their heads.A small number of statues wear red stone hats, which weigh about 3 tons. They must be the heaviest hats in the world!We can imagine, about 1700 years ago, people came to this beautiful island and for some reason made these huge stone statues. How did they do that? in the upper of the peninsula,enjoied the title of the north "little Hong Kong" .The Gulf of Shidao
is surrounded on three sides by mountains, a sea.The gulf wind flat and wave small,there is a
variety of ships and the ideal place to shelter.The first big fishing port - shidao fishing port and
national first class open port - shidao new port are like two dragons occupying the shidao bay, for
the rapid development of shidao providing the best stage.

景区了”是国家AAAA级 风景区。春秋去那里旅游是最好的，特别是春暖花开的时候，满
山的杜鹃花，鸟瞰整个石岛港，心情那叫一个爽啊~~~）石岛人特别豪爽，爱面子，非常热
情好客~~~应该说大海养育了石岛人，我们爱大海，更爱我们的故乡
My hometown has picturesque scenery, no cold winter, summer without heat, a pleasant
climate.Now the fahua temple has been renamed the " scenic area " ,a national AAAA level scenic
area. Spring and autumn are the best seasons to travel there, especially in spring,full mountain
azalea ,having a bird's eye view of the port of Shidao, the mood that a cool.
My home fellows are great-hearted, loving face, very hospitable.I want to say the sea brought up
us,i love the sea,i love my hometown.
