汶川大地震英语作文1On May 12, 2008, a horrible earthquake hit Wenchuan. It was like the end of the world had come all of a sudden.Houses, those places that were supposed to be the warmest shelters for people, collapsed in a large number. Just imagine, one moment people were living their normal lives at home, and the next moment, the walls crumbled, the roofs caved in. So many families were torn apart. Parents lost their children, and children lost their parents. There were countless children trapped under the ruins, waiting desperately for rescue. Their cries for help were heart - breaking. The whole city was in chaos and ruins. Dust filled the air, and the cries of the survivors and the moans of the injured were everywhere. We can't forget this great disaster. We should always remember those who lost their lives in this earthquake. They will always be in our hearts.中文翻译:2008年5月12日,一场可怕的地震袭击了汶川。

He's super cool, and I'm sure you'll love him too once you learn more about him!Justin Bieber was born on March 1, 1994, in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. He's now 29 years old, but he's been making awesome music since he was just a kid like me. Can you believe it? He started posting videos of himself singing on YouTube when he was only 13 years old! Those videos caught the attention of a famous music manager named Scooter Braun, who helped Justin become a superstar. In 2008, when Justin was just 14, he was discovered by Usher, one of the biggest R&B singers in the world! Usher signed him to a record label, and that's when Justin's incredible journey to fame began.Justin's first big hit was a song called "One Time," which came out in 2009. The music video for that song is so much fun to watch! Justin dances and sings with his friends, and they all look like they're having a great time. After "One Time," Justin released his first album called "My World," and it was a huge success.Since then, Justin has released many more albums and singles that have topped the charts all over the world. Some of his most popular songs are "Baby," "Boyfriend," "Sorry," "Love Yourself," and "Despacito" (a collaboration with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee). I'm sure you've heard at least a few of those on the radio or on your favorite music streaming platform. What I love most about Justin's music is how catchy and upbeat it is. His songs always put me in a good mood and make me want to sing and dance along. But Justin's not just a great singer and dancer; he's also an amazing songwriter. Many of his hits are co-written by him, which is really impressive for someone who started so young.Justin's life hasn't always been easy, though. He's been through a lot of ups and downs, especially during his teenage years when he was dealing with the pressures of fame. But Justinhas grown and matured a lot over the years, and he's become a positive role model for his fans. One thing that makes Justin stand out is his dedication to using his platform for good causes. He's been involved with various charities and organizations that help children and families in need. For example, he supports Pencils of Promise, which builds schools and improves education in developing countries. Justin has also been open about his struggles with mental health issues, which has helped raise awareness and reduce stigma around these important topics. In 2018, Justin married his longtime girlfriend, Hailey Baldwin, and they seem to be really happy together. It's been amazing to see Justin grow from a talented kid into a successful adult who's found love and continues to make great music. If you haven't listened to Justin Bieber's music yet, I highly recommend checking it out. That'sone of the things I admire most about him – he's stayed true to himself and never lost his passion for music, even after all these years in the spotlight.I can't wait to see what Justin does next in his career. Maybe he'll release a new album or go on tour again soon. One thing's for sure: I'll be there to support him every step of the way, singing and dancing along to his incredible music. Thanks for reading about my favorite singer, Justin Bieber! I've been a huge fan ever since I was really little. I remember hearing his song "Baby" on the radio and being instantly hooked. His voice is just so amazing and his songs are always super catchy.Justin was born on March 1, 1994 in London, Ontario, Canada. That means he's 29 years old now! He was raised by his single mom Pattie Mallette. Even as a little kid, Justin loved to sing and perform. When he was 12 years old, his mom started posting videos of him singing on YouTube. The videos went viral and Justin became an internet sensation! In 2008, when Justin was just 13 years old, he was discovered by his future manager Scooter Braun after Scooter came across one of Justin's YouTube videos. Scooter was so blown away by Justin's incredible voice that he tracked down his school and talked to Justin and his mom about getting him a record deal. Can you imagine being discovered like that?! It's like a real-life fairytale. After signing with RBMG Records in 2008, Justin worked super hard to record his first album "My World." The lead single "One Time" came out in 2009 and quickly climbed the charts. His album debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200 chart, which is amazing for a brand new artist! I still jam out to songs like "One Time" and "Favorite Girl" from that first album.2010 was a huge breakout year for the Biebs. His first bio movie called "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" came out and his album "My World 2.0" had massive hits like "Baby" featuringLudacris. I'll never forget seeing the "Baby" music video for the first time and learning all the hand motions to do along with it. My friends and I watched that video on repeat! "Baby" ended up being certified 12x platinum. That's insane!Over the next few years, Justin kept dropping hit after hit. Songs like "Boyfriend," "As Long As You Love Me," and "Beauty And A Beat" were always blasting from my portable CD player. In 2013, he dropped the Music Monstersmash-up album "Journals" which I thought was so creative and different. I loved that he was always evolving his sound. In 2015, after a little break, Justin came back bigger than ever with his album "Purpose." This album showed his incredible growth as an artist and human being. Deep tracks like "Sorry" and "Love Yourself" showcased his outstanding vocals and songwriting abilities. The "Purpose" world tour was epic - I was lucky enough to go and it was the best concert I've ever been to!After "Purpose," Justin took another break to focus on his mental health, which I have a lot of respect for. He came back in 2020 with the album "Changes" and in 2021 with "Justice." Both were chart-topping hits. His latest album "Believe" just dropped in 2023 and continues to show his incredible evolution and maturity as an artist.Over his career, Justin has sold an astonishing 150 million records worldwide! He's won pretty much every award you can think of, including 2 Grammy Awards, 21 Billboard Music Awards, 21 American Music Awards and 21 MTV Europe Music Awards. I've lost count of how many times I've watched his award show performances on YouTube! He always puts on such an amazing live show. What I admire most about Justin, besides his crazy talent, is his big heart. He has been open about his struggles with anxiety, depression and Lyme disease over the years. Instead of hiding it, he uses his platform to raise awareness and help others feeling the same way. He has supported so many great causes like Pencils of Promise, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, and SUNRISE Pandemic Kids Relief. I love that he wants to make the world a better place.Justin has also worked hard to grow as a person and set a good example for his fans after making some mistakes in his younger years. In interviews, he always emphasizes the importance of surrounding yourself with positive people, working on your mental health, and using your platform for good. He got married in 2018 to his wife Hailey Baldwin and it seems like he's in an amazing place in life now.I have been to three Justin Bieber concerts and I cried tears of joy every single time! There's nothing like being surrounded by thousands of other Beliebers (that's what we Justin fans call ourselves), all singing along to his incredible songs at the top of our lungs. I'll never forget the first time I saw him step out on stage - the roar of the crowd was deafening! His dancers, stage production, and overall showmanship is always on another level. Some of my all-time favorite Justin songs are "Sorry," "Love Yourself," "Ghost," "Peaches," "Hold On" and "Honest" featuring Don Toliver. But honestly, I could just keep listing his songs forever because I love them all! His voice, his songwriting, his dance moves - Justin Bieber really is the total package. I can't wait to see what he does next and I'll be a fan for life!So that's why Justin Bieber is my favorite singer of all time. Who's your favorite? Let me know if you're a Belieber too! I first discovered Justin when I was 7 years old and heard his song "Baby" on the radio. From that moment on, I was hooked and became a huge Belieber (that's what Justin's fans call themselves)!Justin Drew Bieber was born on March 1, 1994 in London, Ontario, Canada. He's now 29 years old. Justin came from a small town and humble beginnings. His mom Pattie was a super young single parent who raised him mostly on her own with help from Justin's grandparents. They didn't have a lot of money when Justin was little.Even as a kid, Justin loved singing and playing instruments like the drums, guitar and piano. When he was 12 years old, his mom started posting videos of him singing cover songs on YouTube. The videos soon went viral because Justin was so talented! He could sing really well and play multiple instrumentstoo. People loved his music covers of songs by artists like Ne-Yo, Stevie Wonder and Justin Timberlake. In 2008, Justin's amazing YouTube videos caught the eye of a music manager named Scooter Braun. Scooter was blown away by Justin's raw talent and unique voice for someone so young. He helped get Justin an audition with a major record label. After seeing Justin perform live, the record execs signed him on the spot to their teen/ pop music division. And just like that, Justin's dream of becoming a professional singer came true!Justin's debut album "My World" dropped in 2009 when he was only 15 years old. It was a huge smash hit, going platinum in the US and Canada. His single "One Time" made it all the way to #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. I remember watching the music video for "One Time" over and over again as a little kid - it was just the coolest! The next year, Justin released his second album "My World 2.0" which was even more popular. It had massive radio hits like "Baby" featuring Ludacris and "Never Say Never." The "Baby" music video currently has over 2.4 billion views on YouTube, making it one of the most watched videos ever! I must have contributed like 500 million of those views myself from replayingit nonstop on my mom's computer. Haha just kidding, but I did watch it a trillion times. In my opinion, Justin makes the ideal pop music. His songs have very catchy melodies and rhythms that stick in your head all day. The lyrics are really relatable too, usually about teen life, love and relationships. But what I love most about Justin's music is his incredible, one-of-a-kind voice. He has this pure, angelic tone that gives me chills every time I hear him sing. His vocal runs are so smooth and effortless. It's crazy to think his voice started changing around age 13 or 14 during puberty, yet he was still making full studio albums! I don't know how he sounded so good while his voice was cracking. As Justin got older, his music started maturing too from just pop/teen stuff to having more of an R&B, electronic dance and hip-hop influence. That's another reason why I'm such a fan - his musical talent doesn't stay in one box. He can nail so many different genres like pop, R&B, hip-hop, EDM, you name it. I really admire artists who can evolve their sound over time while staying true to themselves. Some of my other favorite Justin songs from his later albums are "Sorry," "What Do You Mean?", "Love Yourself," "Peaches" and "Ghost." Have you seen his live concerts? They are simply out of this world! The choreography, dancing, visual effects, everything is just sowell-produced and polished. As a performer, Justin has serious electric energy that makes his shows a can't-miss experience. I was lucky enough to attend his Purpose World Tour in 2016 and it was hands down the best night of my life. I'm counting down the days until Justin announces his next tour so I can see him live again. When he's not creating amazing music or putting on spectacular live shows, Justin also keeps himself plenty busy with other cool endeavors. For one, he's a very successful model and actor in addition to being a singer. He starred in two seasons of his own show "Justin Bieber: Seasons" which gave fans an inside look at his life and creative process. Justin has also done voice acting work, appearing as himself in TV shows like "Punk'd" and movies like "Zoolander 2."On top of his music and acting career, Justin Bieber is an active philanthropist and committed Christian who uses his global platform for good causes. He has worked with organizations like Pencils of Promise to help build schools and increase education in developing countries. Justin has also supported campaigns for clean water access, poverty reduction, and the fight against AIDS/HIV. It makes me really happy to see one of my biggest role models giving back so selflessly to people in need all over the world. In his personal life, Justin seems like just a normal,down-to-earth guy who likes hanging out with friends and loves his wife Hailey. They have the most adorable, healthy relationship goals. I want a love like theirs when I'm older! Despite his worldwide fame and fortune, Justin has stayed super grounded with a good head on his shoulders. I respect how he has been open about his struggles with things like anxiety, depression and growing up in the spotlight. It makes him even more relatable and human.Overall, Justin is my favorite singer of all time for countless reasons - his incredible singing voice and musical talent, his insane performances, his charity work, his faith, and just being an all-around great role model and person. I've been a die-hardBelieber since the "Baby" days and will always stan the Canadian king of pop. Thanks for letting me gush about why Justin Bieber is simply the best!。

班里最值得我敬佩的一位同学英语作文

班里最值得我敬佩的一位同学英语作文The Classmate I Admire MostIn my class, there is one student who stands out from the rest. His name is Michael, and he is the person I admire the most. Michael is kind, smart, and always willing to help others. He is the perfect example of what a good classmate and friend should be.The first thing I admire about Michael is his kindness. He is always looking out for others and making sure everyone feels included. If someone is having a hard time understanding something in class, Michael is the first one to offer to help them. He never makes fun of anyone for struggling or gets impatient when explaining things. Michael just has a calm and caring way about him.I remember one time when a new student joined our class halfway through the year. The new student, whose name was Jake, spoke very little English and seemed really shy and scared on his first day. While the rest of us just stared at him, Michael immediately went over and introduced himself. He spent the rest of the day showing Jake around the school, explaining things to him, and making sure he felt welcome. By the end of that firstday, Jake already had a friend in Michael. It was amazing to see how quickly Michael could make someone feel comfortable.Another thing I admire is how smart Michael is. He gets excellent grades, but he doesn't make a big deal about it or brag. When we have group projects, Michael is always full of great ideas and leads the group effortlessly. He just has a natural intelligence that shows through in everything he does. What makes Michael's smarts even more impressive is that he works extremely hard too. You can tell his good grades aren't just because he's naturally smart - he also puts in a ton of effort. Michael is always taking neat notes in class, asking questions if he doesn't understand something, and spending a lot of time studying at home. His work ethic, combined with his intelligence, is truly inspiring. In addition to being kind and smart, Michael is an incredible athlete. He is amazing at every sport we play during gym class and recess. The really cool thing about Michael's athletic ability is that he is never arrogant or cocky about it. He doesn't rub it in if he does well or brag about the trophies he has won for the school's teams. Michael is just as humble and encouraging towards everyone on the field or court as he is in the classroom.I'll never forget the championship soccer game last year. It was a big deal because our school had never won the championship before. The score was tied 1-1 with only a few minutes left in the game. Then, Michael scored thegame-winning goal! The whole team mobbed him and he had this huge smile on his face. In the celebration after the game, Michael made sure to thank and high-five every single one of his teammates. Rather than just take all the glory for himself, he knew that it took everyone working together to win. Michael was the star of the game for sure, but he didn't act like it. That's just his caring nature.Perhaps the best thing about Michael is that he is a true friend, always there when you need him. One day, I was having a terrible time at school because I failed a math test that I studied really hard for. I was devastated and caught crying in the hallway by myself during lunch. Out of nowhere, Michael appeared and asked me what was wrong. I told him about the test through my tears. Michael didn't laugh or say anything mean. Instead, he gave me a hug and reminded me that one bad test wasn't the end of the world. He said he knew how hard I studied and that I was still a great student. Michael talked me through it in such a caring way, making me feel so much better. Just having a friend like that to lean on meant everything to me.Michael's kindness, intelligence, work ethic, athletic ability, and loyalty make him an incredible person. He encompasses all the best qualities anyone could ask for in a friend. I feel so fortunate that Michael is in my class and a part of my life. Someday, I know he is going to an amazing adult and change the world for the better. Michael is a role model for how we should all treat each other - with compassion, inclusion, and respect. He makes me want to be a better person.I can only hope that as I get older, I can be more like Michael. He is the classmate I admire most because of his caring heart and uplifting spirit. Michael makes our class a special place where everyone feels supported and encouraged to be their best selves. Having a friend like him makes going to school so much better. I feel incredibly lucky to know such an extraordinary person at such a young age. No matter how much time passes, Michael will always be someone I look up to and strive to be more like.。

过专题【五年高考】A组自主命题·江苏卷题组Passage 1(2016江苏,D)词数:720Not so long ago, most people didn’t know who Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was going to become. She was justan average high school athlete. There was every indication that she was just another Jamaican teenager without much of a future. However, one person wanted to change this. Stephen Francis observed then eighteen-year-old Shelly-Ann at a track meet and was convinced that he had seen the beginnings of true greatness. Her times werenot exactly impressive, but even so, he sensed there was something trying to get out, something the other coaches had overlooked when they had assessed her and found her lacking. He decided to offer Shelly-Ann a place in his very strict training sessions. Their cooperation quickly produced results, and a few years later at Jamaica’s Olympic trials in early 2008, Shelly-Ann, who at that time only ranked number 70 in the world, be at Jamaica’sunchallenged queen of the sprint(短跑).“Where did she come from?” asked an astonished sprinting world, before concluding that she must be one of those one-hit wonders that spring up from time to time, only to disappear again without signs. But Shelly-Ann was to prove that she was anything but a one-hit wonder. At the Beijing Olympics she swept away any doubts abouther ability to perform consistently by becoming the first Jamaican woman ever to win the 100 metres Olympicgold. She did it again one year on at the World Championships in Berlin, becoming world champion with a time of 10.73—the fourth fastest time ever.Shelly-Ann is a little woman with a big smile. She has a mental toughness that did not come about by chance. Her journey to becoming the fastest woman on earth has been anything but smooth and effortless. She grew up in one of Jamaica’s toughest inner-city communities known as Waterhouse, where she lived in a one-room apartment, sleeping four in a bed with her mother and two brothers. Waterhouse, one of the poorest communities in Jamaica, is a really violent and overpopulated place. Several of Shelly-Ann’s friends and family were caught up in the killings; one of her cousins was shot dead only a few streets away from where she lived. Sometimes her family didn’t have enough to eat. She ran at the school championships barefooted because she couldn’t afford shoes. Her mother Maxime, one of a family of fourteen, had been an athlete herself as a young girl but, like so many other girls in Wat erhouse, had to stop after she had her first baby.Maxime’s early entry into the adult world with its responsibilities gave her the determination to ensure that her kids would not end up in Waterhouse’s roundabout of poverty. One of the first things Maxime used to do with Shelly-Ann was taking her to the track, and she was ready to sacrifice everything. It didn’t take long for Shelly-Ann to realize that sports could be her way out of Waterhouse. On a summer evening in Beijing in 2008, all those long, hard hours of work and commitment finally bore fruit. The barefoot kid who just a few years previously had been living in poverty, surrounded by criminals and violence, had written a new chapter in the history of sports. But Shelly-Ann’s victory was far greater t han that. The night she won Olympic gold in Beijing, the routine murders in Waterhouse and the drug wars in the neighbouring streets stopped. The dark cloud above one of the world’s toughest criminal neighbourhoods simply disappeared for a few days. “I have so much fire burning for my country,”Shelly said. She plans to start a foundation for homeless children and wants to build a community centre in Waterhouse. She hopes to inspire the Jamaicans to lay down their weapons. She intends to fight to make it aw oman’s as well as a man’s world. As Muhammad Ali puts it, “Champions aren’t made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them. A desire, a dream, a vision.”One of the things Shelly-Ann can be proud of is her understanding of this truth.1. Consider again the cell-phone,and imagine the mines that producedthose metals, the factories needed to make the box and packaging (包装)it came in. Many wastes produced in theproducing process are harmful as well. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency notes that most waste is dangerous in that “ theproduction, distribution, and use of products—as well as management of the resulting waste—all result in greenhouse gas release.”Individuals can reduce their contribu tion by creating less waste at the start—for instance, buying reusable products and recycling. In many countries the concept of extended producer responsibility is being considered or has been put in place as an incentive(动机)for reducing waste. If producers are required to take back packaging they use to sell their products, would they reduce the packaging in the first place?Governments’ incentive to require producers to take responsibility for the packaging they produce is usually based on money. Why,they ask, should cities or towns be responsible for paying to deal with the bubble wrap(气泡垫)that encased your television? From the governments’ point of view,a primary goal of laws requiring extended producer responsibility is to transfer both the costs and the physical responsibility of waste management from the government and tax-payers back to the producers.1.By mentioning the Swiss study, the author intends to tell us that.A.the weight of e-goods is rather smallB.e-waste deserves to be made good use ofC.natural minerals contain more precious metalsD.the percentage of precious metals is heavy in e-waste2. The responsibility of e-waste treatment should be extended.A.from producers to governmentsB.from governments to producersC.from individuals to distributorsD.from distributors to governments3.What does the passage mainly talk about?A.The increase in e-waste.B.The creation of e-waste.C.The seriousness of e-waste.D.The management of e-waste.答案1.B2.B3.DPassage 3(2014江苏,C) 词数:351Most damagingly, anger weakens a person’s ability to think clearly and keep control over his behaviour. The angry person loses objectivity in evaluating the emotional significance of the person or situation that arouses his anger. Not everyone experiences anger in the same way;what angers one person may amuse another. The specific expression of anger also differs from person to person based on biological and cultural forces. In contemporary culture, physical expressions of anger are generally considered too socially harmful to be tolerated. We no longerregard duels(决斗)as an appropriate expression of anger resulting from one person’s awareness of insulting behaviour on the part of another.Anger can be identified in the brain, where the electrical activity changes.Under most conditions,EEG(脑电图)measures of electrical activity show balanced activity between the right and left prefrontal (额叶前部) areas.Behaviourally this corresponds to the general even-handed disposition(意向)that most of us possess most of the tim e.But when we are angry the EEG of the right and left prefrontal areas aren’t balanced and,as a result ofthis,we’re likely to react. And our behavioural response to anger is different from our response to other emotions, whether positive or negative. Most positive emotions are associated with approach behaviour:we move closer to people we like. Most negative emotions,in contrast, are associated with avoidance behaviour:we move away from people and things that we dislike or that make us anxious. But anger is an exception to this pattern. The angrier we are,the more likely we are to move towards the object of our anger. This corresponds to what psychologists refer to as offensive anger:the angry person moves closer in order to influence and control the person or situation causing his anger.Thisapproach-and-confront behaviour is accompanied by a leftward prefrontal asymmetry(不对称)of EEGactivity.Interestingly, this asymmetry lessens if the angry person can experience empathy(同感)towards theindividual who is bringing forth the angry response. In defensive anger,in contrast, the EEG asymmetry is directed to the right and the angry person feels helpless in the face of the anger-inspiring situation.1.The “duels” example in Paragraph 2 proves that the expression of anger.ually has a biological basisB.varies among peopleC.is socially and culturally shapedD.influences one’s thinking and evaluation2.What changes can be found in an angry brain?A.Balanced electrical activity can be spotted.B.Unbalanced patterns are found in prefrontal areas.C.Electrical activity corresponds to one’s behaviour.D.Electrical activity agrees with one’s disposition.3.Which of the following is typical of offensive anger?A.Approaching the source of anger.B.Trying to control what is disliked.C.Moving away from what is disliked.D.Feeling helpless in the face of anger.4.What is the key message of the last paragraph?A.How anger differs from other emotions.B.How anger relates to other emotions.C.Behavioural responses to anger.D.Behavioural patterns of anger.答案1.C2.B3.A4.DB组统一命题、省(区、市)卷题组Passage 1(2018课标全国Ⅰ,B) 词数:264Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid is used to grilling guests on the sofa every morning, but she is cooking up a storm in her latest role—showing families how to prepare delicious and nutritious meals on a tight budget. In Save Money:Good Food, she visits a different home each week and with the help of chef Matt Tebbuttoffers top tips on how to reduce food waste, while preparing recipes for under £5 per family a day. Everybody can buy takeaway food, but sometimes we’re not aware how cheaply we can m ake this food ourselves.”The eight-part series(系列节目), Save Money:Good Food, follows in the footsteps of ITV’s Save Money:Good Health, which gave viewers advice on how to get value from the vast range of health products on the market. With food our biggest weekly household expense, Susanna and Matt spend time with a different family each week. It’s more likely that none of us start a conversation because it’s awkward and challenging, or we think it’s annoying and unnecessary. But the next time you find yourself among strangers, consider that small talk is worth the trouble. Experts say it’s an invaluable social practice that results in big benefits.Dismissing small talk as unimportant is easy, but we can’t forget that deep relationships wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for casual conversation. Small talk is the grease(润滑剂)for social communication, says BernardoCarducci, director of the Shyness Research Institute at Indiana University Southeast.“Almost every great love story and each big business deal begins with small talk,”he explains. “The key to successful small talk is learning how to connect with others, not just communicate with them.”In a 2014 study, Elizabeth Dunn, associate professor of psychology at UBC, invited people on their way into a coffee shop. One group was asked to seek out an interaction(互动)with its waiter;the other, to speak only whennecessary. The results showed that those who chatted with their server reported significantly higher positive feelings and a better coffee shop experience.“It’s not that talking to the waiter is better than talking to yourhusband,”says Dunn.“But interactions with peripheral(边缘的)members of our social network matter for ourwell-being also.”Dunn believes that people who reach out to strangers feel a significantly greater sense of belonging, a bond with others. Carducci believes developing such a sense of belonging starts with small talk.“Small talk is the basis of good manners,”he says.1.What phenomenon is described in the first paragraph?A.Addiction to smartphones.B.Inappropriate behaviours in public places.C.Absence of communication between strangers.D.Impatience with slow service.2.What is important for successful small talk according to Carducci?A.Showing good manners.B.Relating to other people.C.Focusing on a topic.D.Making business deals.3.What does the coffee-shop study suggest about small talk?A.It improves family relationships.B.It raises people’s confidence.C.It matters as much as a formal talk.D.It makes people feel good.4.What is the best title for the text?A.Conversation CountsB.Ways of Making Small TalkC.Benefits of Small TalkD.Uncomfortable Silence答案1.C2.B3.D4.CPassage 3(2018课标全国Ⅲ,B) 词数:312Cities usually have a good reason for being where they are, like a nearby port or river. People settle in these places because they are easy to get to and naturally suited to communications and trade. New York City, forexample, is near a large harbour at the mouth of the Hudson River. Over 300 years its population grew gradually from 800 people to 8 million. But not all cities develop slowly over a long period of time. Boom towns grow fromnothing almost overnight. In 1896, Dawson, Canada, was unmapped wilderness(荒野).But gold was discoveredthere in 1897, and two years later, it was one of the largest cities in the West, with a population of 30,000.Dawson did not have any of the natural conveniences of cities like London or Paris. People went there for gold. They travelled over snow-covered mountains and sailed hundreds of miles up icy rivers. The path to Dawsonwas covered with thirty feet of wet snow that could fall without warning. An avalanche(雪崩)once closed the path, killing 63 people. For many who made it to Dawson, however, the rewards were worth the difficult trip. Of the first 20,000 people who dug for gold, 4,000 got rich. About 100 of these stayed rich men for the rest of their lives. But no matter how rich they were, Dawson was never comfortable. Necessities like food and wood were very expensive. But soon, the gold that Dawson depended on had all been found. The city was crowded with disappointed people with no interest in settling down, and when they heard there were new gold discoveries in Alaska, they left Dawson City as quickly as they had come. Today, people still come and go—to see where the Canadian gold rush happened. Tourism is now the chief industry of Dawson City—its present population is 762.1.What attracted the early settlers to New York City?A.Its business culture.B.Its small population.C.Its geographical position.D.Its favourable climate.2.What do we know about those who first dug for gold in Dawson?A.Two-thirds of them stayed there.B.One out of five people got rich.C.Almost everyone gave up.D.Half of them died.3.What was the main reason for many people to leave Dawson?A.They found the city too crowded.B.They wanted to try their luck elsewhere.C.They were unable to stand the winter.D.They were short of food.4.What is the text mainly about?A.The rise and fall of a city.B.The gold rush in Canada.C.Journeys into the wilderness.D.Tourism in Dawson.答案1.C2.B3.B4.APassage 4(2018天津,C) 词数:365There’s a new frontier in 3D printing that’s begin ning to come into focus:food. Recent development has made possible machines that print, cook, and serve foods on a mass scale. And the industry isn’t stopping there.Food productionWith a 3D printer, a cook can print complicated chocolate sculptures and beautiful pieces for decoration on a wedding cake. Not everybody can do that—it takes years of experience, but a printer makes it easy. A restaurant in Spain uses a Foodini to“re-create forms and pieces”of food that are“exactly the same,”freeing cooks to co mplete other tasks. In another restaurant, all of the dishes and desserts it serves are 3D-printed, rather than farm to table.Sustainability(可持续性)The global population is expected to grow to 9.6 billion by 2050, and some analysts estimate that food production will need to be raised by 50 percent to maintain current levels. Sustainability is becoming a necessity. 3D food printing could probably contribute to the solution. Some experts believe printers could usehydrocolloids(水解胶体)from plentiful renewables like algae(藻类)and grass to replace the familiar ingredients(烹饪原料). 3D printing can reduce fuel use and emissions. Grocery stores of the future might stock“food”that lastsyears on end, freeing up shelf space and reducing transportation and storage requirements.NutritionFuture 3D food printers could make processed food healthier. Hod Lipson, a professor at Columbia University, said,“Food printing could allow consumers to print food with customized nutritional content, like vitamins. So instead of eating a piece of yesterday’s bread from the supermarket, you’d eat something baked just for you on demand.”ChallengesDespite recent advancements in 3D food printing, the industry has many challenges to overcome. Currently, most ingredients must be changed to a paste(糊状物)before a printer can use them, and the printing process isquite time-consuming, because ingredients interact with each other in very complex ways. On top of that, most of the 3D food printers now are restricted to dry ingredients because meat and milk products may easily go bad. Some experts are skeptical about 3D food printers, believing they are better suited for fast food restaurants than homes and high-end restaurants.1.What benefit does 3D printing bring to food production?A.It helps cooks to create new dishes.B.It saves time and effort in cooking.C.It improves the cooking conditions.D.It contributes to restaurant decorations.2.What can we learn about 3D food printing from Paragraph 3?A.It solves food shortages easily.B.It quickens the transportation of food.C.It needs no space for the storage of food.D.It uses renewable materials as sources of food.3.According to Paragraph 4, 3D-printed food.A.is more available to consumersB.can meet individual nutritional needsC.is more tasty than food in supermarketsD.can keep all the nutrition in raw materials4.What is the main factor that prevents 3D food printing from spreading widely?A.The printing process is complicated.B.3D food printers are too expensive.C.Food materials have to be dry.D.Some experts doubt 3D food printing.5.What could be the best title of the passage?A.3D Food Printing:Delicious New TechnologyB.A New Way to Improve 3D Food PrintingC.The Challenges for 3D Food ProductionD.3D Food Printing:From Farm to Table答案1.B2.D3.B4.C5.APassage 5(2018浙江,B) 词数:279Steven Stein likes to follow garbage trucks. His strange habit makes sense when you consider that he’s an environmental scientist who studies how to reduce litter, including things that fall off garbage trucks as they drive down the road. What is even more interesting is that one of Stein’s jobs is defending an industry behind the plastic shopping bag.Americans use more than 100 billion thin film plastic bags every year. So many end up in tree branches or along highways that a growing number of cities do not allow them at checkouts(收银台). The bags are prohibitedin some 90 cities in California, including Los Angeles. Eyeing these headwinds, plastic-bag makers are hiring scientists like Stein to make the case that their products are not as bad for the planet as most people assume.Among the bag makers’ arguments:many cities with bans still allow shoppers to purchase paper bags, which are easily recycled but require more energy to produce and transport. And while plastic bags may be ugly to look at, they represent a small percentage of all garbage on the ground today. The industry has also taken aim at the product that has appeared as its replacement:reusable shopping bags. After the final exam of Grade 3 in June, everything blew onto our faces : teachers’ changing , harder and harder texts ,terrible pressure and of course the graduate exam .Where your position was on the listboard became the most important thingin our life .We had to study hard day and night ,always from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. the next day.But I must say that it’s really an unforgettable memory in my life. Under the pressure we lived our life to the fullest, and enjoyed the true interesting things that we may have never cared before. Grade 4 in junior school was a turning point in my life. My attitude to learning, my world outlook and my philosophy of life all changed. I turned to be positive and strong. I also gained many people’s true & pure friendship, both teachers ’and classmates’. In some way, I like that kind of life, as it taught me many things I’d never learned before. Teachers also helped me a lot. I still can’t forget that my history teacher talked to me until 10:00 p.m. on April 30th,2003, for my application. My head teacher also encouraged me,so did my Chinese teacher. I should say, all my teachers workedvery hard and always neglected their sleep and meals. Even if some of them were about 50 and often fell ill, they never left us one day .The last and greatest challenge was of course the final exam, also my high school entrance exam. I felt very well and comfortable except my chemistry physics exams. The result proved that I couldn’t have done worse in them. But in total,my mark is O.K. So then I became a student in the best high school of Hubei Province. We, teachers and students, got together in East Lake Hotel on June 4th, 2003. At the moment of saying goodbye, I felt that my time of junior had gone ,and my senior time was coming . Today, I looked at my graduate photos again ,and ,I smiled . He once hesitated ,struggled, feared and doubted, like anordinary man would do. But he just "stays at the door of fate",as the name of his newly-written book says, and waits till the door opens instead of leaving during the half way. Then there comes a wholly new world where the beautiful dream lies .难忘的一件事英语作文六:The most unforgettable thingI really want to say thanks to you because you not only teach ue a lot of knowledge, but also are concerned about us. I still remember that you worried about our health last spring, when influenza A spreaded rapidly around the city. You, my dear teacher, asked us to wash hand and take a bath frequently. You also suggested us to open the windows and not go to the place having many people. You recommended us to drink more water and form a good habit. You came early and back late to spray drug. It was very painstaking. My dear teacher, thanks again.难忘的一件事英语作文七:The most unforgettable thing Everyone has his most unforgettable thing. Friendship may be the most impotant thing in our life. It's like a light that gives us brightness. I have many things that I can't forget with my friends. One day, I showed a new watch to my best friend. The watch is very pretty and I like it very much. When I passed it to her, she dropped it and the watch crashed into pieces. I shouted to her: I don't want to see you again. She cried at once after school. I found a pretty pencil case in my desk. In the pencil case, I found a note which said: "Dear Cristine, I gave this to you because I don't want to lose you. Can you forgive me?"I was moved by the note and I felt regret with my words. I said sorry to her and we were closer than before. A friend is likea star in the sky. He (She) is always there around you. I can't forget this thing forever.11 / 11__来源网络整理,仅作为学习参考。

最喜欢体育明星苏炳添英语作文50字

最喜欢体育明星苏炳添英语作文50字全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Favorite Sports Star - Su BingtianHi there! My name is Tommy and I'm 10 years old. I love playing sports and watching sports on TV. My favorite athlete of all time is the amazing Chinese sprinter Su Bingtian. He's a superstar on the track and an inspiration to me.Su Bingtian is a really fast runner. Like, crazy fast! He holds the Asian record in the 100m dash with a time of 9.83 seconds. That's blazing speed! To put it in perspective, I can probably run 100m in about 25 seconds on a good day. Su is almost 3 times faster than me! It's mind-blowing how quickly he can cover that short distance. I've watched replays of his races over and over, studying his powerful stride and explosive start out of the blocks. The way he digs in and propels himself down the track is mesmerizing. What makes Su's success even more impressive is that he didn't start running competitively until he was already an adult. He used to work at a steel factory in his hometown before beingrecruited to join the Chinese national team at age 23. Most world-class sprinters have been training intensively since they were kids. But Su took it all in stride (no pun intended!) and through dedication and hard work, became one of the fastest men on the planet in just a few years. His rapid rise to the top is such an inspirational underdog story. One of my favorite things about Su Bingtian is howdown-to-earth and humble he seems despite his fame and accomplishments. In interviews, he always comes across as a really nice, friendly guy who hasn't let his success go to his head. He seems to genuinely appreciate his fans and all the support he gets from people across China rooting for him to succeed. Whenever he wins a race, his joyful celebrations make me smile from ear to ear. You can tell how much his achievements mean to him and his loved ones.I'll never forget watching Su compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (which actually took place in 2021 due to Covid delays). He made history by becoming the first Chinese male sprinter to ever reach an Olympic 100m final. Although he ended up finishing 6th, the fact that he stood on that global stage representing China was such a proud moment. I was on the edge of my seat cheering him on as he raced against titans like UsainBolt and Trayvon Bromell. Just making the final at that elite level is an unbelievable feat.Su's Olympic performance motivated me to work harder than ever at my own running. While I'm probably not destined for Olympic glory, I idolize Su's intensity, determination, and relentless work ethic. He's living proof that with the right mindset and commitment, you can achieve greatness no matter your background or when you get started. I make sure to give 100% effort in all my races and practices now, knowing that's the only way to maximize my abilities.I really look up to Su Bingtian as both an athlete and a role model. His journey overcoming long odds to become a sprinting superstar is so inspiring. Watching him zoom down the track brings me pure joy and excitement. Whenever I need a boost of motivation, I think about Su's incredible story and his amazing performances. He makes me believe that anything is possible if you have the courage to chase your dreams full speed ahead. I hope to one day have even an ounce of Su Bingtian's blazing speed and undying competitive spirit!篇2My Favorite Athlete - Su BingtianHi there! My name is Xiao Ming and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about my favorite athlete - Su Bingtian! He's a famous sprinter from China who runs really really fast. Like lightning fast!I first learned about Su Bingtian a few years ago when my dad was watching the Olympics on TV. There was this super cool Chinese guy named Su Bingtian racing against all these other athletes from different countries. And you know what? He was the fastest of them all! He won a silver medal in the 100 meter sprint, which is just amazing.Since then, I've followed Su Bingtian's career closely. I read about all his races online and watch video highlights whenever I can. Did you know he's the current Asian record holder in the 100m with a time of 9.83 seconds? That's crazy fast! Usain Bolt's world record is only 0.23 seconds quicker. Maybe one day Su Bingtian can break the world record, who knows? What I really admire about Su Bingtian is his hard work and determination. He comes from a small village in Guangdong Province and didn't have a lot of resources growing up. But he never gave up on his dream of becoming a world-class sprinter. He just kept training and training, getting a little bit better each day. That's the kind of grit and perseverance I want to have.Su Bingtian is also really humble and down-to-earth from what I've read about him. Even though he's famous and successful now, he hasn't let it go to his head. He still works incredibly hard at practice and is always striving to improve himself. He knows he has to outwork his competition if he wants to achieve his goals. One of my favorite moments was when Su Bingtian won the 100m final at the Asian Games in 2018. I remember watching the race and cheering so loud when he crossed the finish line first! The way he celebrated was just pure joy and it made me really happy for him. You could tell how much that victory meant after all the sacrifices he had made.Aside from his crazy speed, another cool thing about Su Bingtian is how muscular he is. The dude has some serious guns!I always laugh at the pictures comparing his arms to toothpicks when he was younger. Through intense weight training, he's completely transformed his physique into that of a powerful sprinter. I definitely want arms like that when I'm older! What I'm trying to say is that Su Bingtian is way more than just a fast runner to me. He's an inspiration and a role model for overcoming challenges through hard work. Whenever I feel like slacking off or quitting something, I think about Su Bingtian'sjourney and it motivates me to keep pushing. If he can go from a scrawny kid in a small village to an Olympic medalist, then I can achieve my dreams too as long as I don't give up.That's why Su Bingtian is my favorite athlete and hero. He represents the power of perseverance and chasing your dreams no matter what obstacles are in the way. Hopefully one day I'll get to see him race in person and maybe even meet him! Who knows, if I work hard enough, maybe I could grow up to be a world-class sprinter too. But for now, I'll just settle for being Su Bingtian's #1 fan!篇3My Favorite Sports Star: Su BingtianHi there! He's a really fast runner from China who competes in track and field events like the 100 meters and 60 meters sprint races.I first learned about Su Bingtian when I was watching the 2015 World Championships in Athletics on TV with my dad. I saw this Chinese athlete blazing down the track at an incredible speed! My dad told me his name was Su Bingtian and that he was the first Chinese sprinter to break the 10-second barrier in the 100m race. That means he ran 100 meters in less than 10 seconds - wow! His perseverance and confidence in himself paid off over the years as he kept breaking records and making history.Su says one of his biggest motivations is to inspire the next generation of Chinese athletes and show that Chinese sprinters can compete at the highest levels against the best in the world. He is definitely doing that! I feel very lucky to have such an incredible role model from my home country achieving greatness in a sport that Chinese people have not traditionally excelled at.Besides being a world-class athlete, Su Bingtian seems like a really cool, down-to-earth guy from the interviews I've seen. He's always smiling and laughing. He comes across as very humble and grateful for his success, but also confident in his abilities. He doesn't act like a big superstar or anything. I would love to meet him someday and get his advice on how to work hard and never give up on my dreams.I really hope Su keeps running fast and making China proud for many more years. At 33 years old now, he is getting close to the end of his professional career. But I have no doubt he will keep inspiring millions of fans like me, both through his incredible athletic achievements and his positive, hard-working mindset. No matter what, Su Bingtian will forever be my favorite sports hero. Whenever I feel like giving up or things seem too hard, I think of Su powering down the track at lightning speed. It motivates me to dig deep, believe in myself and give my absolute best - just like he does every single race. Hup Holland! That's Su's celebratory phrase which means "Cheer up Holland!" I may not be Dutch, but I'll be cheering Su on forever. Thank you for being such an awesome inspiration, Su Bingtian!篇5My Favorite Sports Star is Su BingtianSu Bingtian is my favorite sports star! He's a really fast runner from China who is the best sprinter in all of Asia. I first learned about him when he ran in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Even though it was delayed a year because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Olympics were still really exciting to watch on TV.When I saw Su Bingtian line up in his bright red uniform for the 100 meter dash finals, I couldn't wait to see him race. The announcers said he was ranked 6th in the world and had a good chance to win a medal for China. I cheered so loud when the starting gun went off!Su Bingtian got an amazing start and was leading at first. But some of the other runners like Fred Kerley from the USA and Andre De Grasse from Canada caught up to him near the end. Su ended up finishing just outside the medal positions in 4th place with a time of 9.83 seconds. Even though he didn't get a medal, I thought he did awesome and I was really proud of him for being one of the fastest men in the world! After the Olympics, I learned more about Su Bingtian's story and why he is such an inspiring athlete. He was born in 1989 in a small village in Guangdong province. His family didn't have a lot of money when he was growing up. But Su showed he had amazing speed and talent for sprinting from a very young age.His physical education teachers recognized his gift and helped train him to become a professional runner. At age 18, Su joined China's national track and field team. From there, his career just took off like a rocket!Over the years, Su Bingtian has won many medals and set all kinds of records. In 2015, he broke the Asian record in the 100m dash with a time of 9.99 seconds. Then in 2018, he became the first Asian-born runner to break the 10-second barrier by running 9.92 seconds! He runs endless sprints while pulling weight sleds. He lifts extremely heavy weights to build his muscle strength and power. And he carefully watches videos to analyze and improve his start, acceleration and running form.Su Bingtian's hard work and sacrifice have definitely paid off. He is a true pioneer who has inspired a whole new generation of world-class sprinters coming out of China. That's how I feel when I watch my favorite athlete, SuBingtian, race on the track. He's the first Chinese athlete to break the 10-second barrier in that event, which is incredibly fast! His personal best time is 9.83 seconds, which he set in 2018. Just thinking about running that fast makes me feel out of breath. What I really like about Su Bingtian is how hard he works and never gives up. He wasn't always the best sprinter in China or even that fast when he first started running. But he kept training and practicing day after day, year after year. His determination and perseverance are really inspiring.I remember watching him compete in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Even though he didn't win a medal, just seeing a Chinese athlete compete at that level in sprinting was so exciting! He made it all the way to the semi-finals of the 100m dash, which was a huge accomplishment. Then, in 2018, Su Bingtian did something amazing – he broke the Asian record in the 100m dash with his time of 9.91 seconds! That was the first time an Asian sprinter had ever rununder 10 seconds. I was jumping up and down cheering when I saw that race. It was such a proud moment for Chinese athletics.Since then, Su has continued to improve and make history. In 2022, he ran an incredible 9.83 seconds to set a new Asian record again. He's now one of the fastest sprinters in the whole world, and he's representing China on the biggest stages of track and field. But what I really admire most about Su Bingtian is his humility and kindness off the track. In interviews, he always thanks his coaches, family, and fans for their support. He seems like such a nice, down-to-earth person despite all his amazing achievements. That's the kind of role model I want to look up to.Su has overcome so many challenges and doubters to get to where he is today. His journey reminds me that if I work really hard and never quit, I can achieve great things too – maybe not in sprinting since I'm not that fast! But in whatever I'm passionate about and determined to do.I have a big poster of Su Bingtian hanging in my room. Whenever I feel tired or want to give up on something, I look at that poster. It motivates me to keep pushing and believing in myself, just like Su has done his whole career. He's shown thatChinese athletes can be world-class sprinters, and he's such an inspiration to kids like me.I really hope I can meet Su Bingtian someday and tell him how much I admire him. He's living proof that passion, hard work, and perseverance can make your biggest dreams come true, no matter where you're from or what challenges you face. Go Su, you're my hero! I'll be cheering you on every step of the way.。

难忘的经历英语作文

难忘的经历英语作文An Impressive ExperienceI still remember that day in summer when I was a junior two student. I went to Guangzhou Changlong Underwater World where I went scuba diving for the first time. It was really an unusual experience. It was a torrid summer day .Can't resisting the temptation of the cold pool water, I decided to make a try to scuba diving. The first thing to do is learning to wear the special diving suit. It was so tight that it took me a long time to finish it. I almost can't breathe in the beginning when compressed by the elastic suit .Then I wore the diving mask and flippers and succeeded in taking an oxygen bottle on my back with the help of the coach. After that it was time to enter the water. I walked to the pool side slowly with the heavy on my back .After being arranged a guide with me, we went along the steps hand in hand until the water was over the top of our heads. When we totally entered the pool, it seemed a little difficult for me to keep sinking. I tried to jump in the water to make me sink but I failed and it was really clumsy. There is no denying that I became more nervous so I had to be pulled by the guide. For a while we had dived into the depths of the pool. All kinds of fishes and plants were around us. I was pretty amazing and couldn't wait to approach them. I let go of the guide's hand gently to reach them. Because of the behavior I gradually felt at ease. I swayed my body by myself freely in the water. At last I even rose to the surface by myself.Though it was just a brief experience, it wasn't as simple as seems. I really felt excited but also exhausted. I'm looking forward to journey to the bottom of the wonder world next time关于一次经历英语作文篇二英语作文:一次难忘的经历An Unforgettable Experience An Unforgettable ExperienceThere are various activities in the college, such as hiking, gathering, competitions and so on. And what impresses me most is my experience of being a volunteer teacher.I was a freshman when the School of Foreign Languages organized a voluntary activity which aimed at providing children in poor areas with a better education. As a matter of fact, I did not show any interest in this activity, for I thought that I just wasted my time and energy without getting any pay. But finally I followed the trend and went to the interview for a try. To my surprise, I was enrolled as a member of the teaching group. I became quite excited and made up my mind to prepare for the class as well as I could. I read their textbook again and again to make sure that I was familiar with t he language points. What’s more, I searched on the Internet for some additional information, which I thought would help me a lot in the class. At that time, I really could not wait to give the lecture.Fortunately, it didn’t keep me waiting too long. It wa s a sunny day. And we spent almost an hour in the bus. I was quite happy surrounded by a group of children.I really benefit a lot from the unforgettable experience. I realize that money and some material things should not be considered as the most important thing in our life. It is theself-realization that really makes our life meaningful. Although I did not get any material things from this activity, I was very happy for what I did for the children. So I hold that we should not just consider the salary in job-hunting, we should also think about whether the job can bring you spiritual enjoyment or not.关于一次经历英语作文篇三我难忘的经历英语作文{关于一次经历英语作文}.Never have I forgotten the experience that I took part in a competition all aboutEnglish knowledge.I have been working really hard in the hope of a satisfyingresult. For three whole days,I was completely absorbed in the world ofEnglish-novels,exams,speeches,songs,all of it bringing me excitement, surprise and enjoyment. The feeling of thoroughly concentrating on something was the most wonderful experience.Everyone has an equal chance to make fairy-tales come{关于一次经历英语作文}.true,as well as to get the happiness that is already ready for you.The only thing you need to do is take the first step, make every effort to pursue what you heartily wantand stick to it.Actually, very little is needed to make a happy life.It is all withinyourself,in your way of thinking,in your way of acting. Some folks go through lifepleased that the glass is half full.Others spend a lifetime complaining that it’shalf-empty.The truth is:There is a glass with a certain volume of liquid in it.Fromthere,it’s up to you!关于一次经历英语作文篇四英语作文AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE一次难忘的经历AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE一次难忘的经历As time goes by, many things have lost their colors. But I still remember the unforgettable experience that I had in middle school.About one month ago, my parents worked in another city.I lived by myself.I nearly forgot my birthday. But my teacher and my classmates remembered it.They held a small party for me at noon.We sang and danced happily.I was deeply moved. It was a special party for me.I will remember it for ever. Being away from not only my cozy courtyard but also my friendly pals made me dolorous and grieved. From then on, I was depressed for several weeks. What beyond my expectations was that my pals hold a farewell party for me by means of giving excellent shows and nice gifts before I moved far away from them. All of them tried their best to cheer me up. What surprised me most was that they had prepared that show for a month! Having ended that party, we were all in tears and did not loose our grips, one of my friends said to me,"you must look after yourself well, see you in the future and our friendship is enduring. Wish you have a brilliantprospect!"Yeah... Time has witnessed that our friendship had never changed although we were not live together. In retrospect, the farewell party touched me deeply. In the sense of that, it illuminated the true meaning of friendship. Meanwhile it gives me power, helping me be a brave and kind-hearted girl. The experience is unforgettable. I would never forget it!。

The Impressive Thing in 2008
It is obvious to Chinese people that the
year of 2008 has been unforgettable. Heart-
rending ice disaster, earthquake, Peking the
Olympics, absolute being of excited public seven
fly a day, all make the person hard to forget.
We had seen many tears and sad-ness in that
year. Nevertheless, the hardships have taught us
to grow.
In my opinion, nothing can be deeper than
personal feeling. People suffered many hard-
ship during that long winter. In my hometown,
Chen-Zhou, due to several days of snowing
that all the city was covered with snow thickly.
With the heavy snow damages were coming. It
is the heaviest snow disaster for almost 50
years according to the experts. It made a big
differen-ce to various industries, especially the
forestry. Millions of trees were broken off
because of the heavy load from the snow. I the
mean-
while, agriculture and industry had a great loss
in it. It caused damage to property estimated
at $1.73 billion.

On the other hand, it also stimulated the
people to love and to help each other. As we all
know, amount of relief materials were delivered
to the striken areas in time. People tried their
best to warm the people of the afflicted areas,
not only by the donations but also buy the
unselfish love. All people showed solicitude for
the unfortunate people.
A friend in need is a friend indeed. I think, the
truest greatness lies in being kind. As long as
there’s love, we will be able to over-come all
the evil that is in the world. And we do it.
There is another reason why that I can not
forget the snow. The snow hampered my
movement. It made the buses, trains and planes
had to stop. Millions of people couldn't go
home. And many power facilities were
destroyed, so the city was be in no electricity
blackouts. For the first time, I deeply know the
original life without light. I was used to
watching the Spring Festival party every year.
But in that condition, it became a wild hope
to watch TV. However, it gave me another
precious memory at that night. I and my
families finished our New Year's Eve family
dinner as early as possible. Then we got
together, sat quiet, and had a In-depth
conversation. Since I had learned more about
my parents. It is so difficult to be a mother
or a father, they must take so much pressure
to bring up us. And I was so grateful to be
their daughter. In some degree, I would thank
for the snow.
In n word, nothing would beat us if we
are staunchly enough and always holding a
charitable heart. We should not complain the
disaster simply. The most important thing is
learning and growing from it. There is a old
saying goes, “If winter comes, can spring be
far behind?”
