阅读理解教学与反思

阅读教学是初中英语教学的一个重要环节,它有利于开阔学生眼界,扩大词汇量,了解西方文化知识。教师应更多地关注如何教会学生阅读,而不是单一地向学生灌输大量的语言知识。培养阅读能力也是教学大纲中规定的中学英语教学目标之一,所以阅读课在我们平时的英语教学中尤为重要,怎样上好阅读课成为英语教师教学中的关键。教无定法,阅读理解的教学应该有一定的模式,但这种模式并非是一成不变的,我们可以根据教学内容做出合理的调整。

一、Status and Function

In this period, I choose Project English, Grade 9 Unit 2 Saving the Earth Topic 1 Section C. This is an important section in the topic. This article mainly talks about that among all kinds of pollution , noise pollution also does great harm to our health. It makes Ss realize the harm of the noise pollution and how to prevent it.

五、Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Warming –up

Free Talk: Ask one or two students to make a speech : “The past and the present of your hometown”

设计思路:可以锻炼学生的口语能力。同时也活跃了课堂气氛。

Step 2: Lead-in

The teacher plays some soft music and ask Ss to enjoy pieces of music. Then ask Ss what they think of the soft music. After that, let them enjoy some sound of noise. Ask some Ss to describe their feelings after enjoying these different kinds of voice. So the teacher can lead to the topic of this section --- the noise pollution.

设计思路:通过让学生欣赏轻音乐和听不同的声音,让学生说出其感受,从而很自然地导入话题“noise pollution”

Step 3: Pre-read

Look at the pictures on the screen. Discuss the following situations and check which causes pollution.

( ) playing loud rock music at midnight

( ) burning wood, gas, oil and coal

( ) producing electricity by wind

( ) talking loudly after class

Make a list with your partner. e.g.: Don’t play loud rock music at midnight.

设计思路:让学生熟悉该话题,猜课文内容,并引起其学习的兴趣和欲望。Step 4: Skimming and Note-taking

Let Ss skim the passage in 1a. Try to find out how many kinds of noise pollution are mentioned in the passage and what they are. Then make a note in the notebook.

Five kinds of noise pollution:

①noise from a printing factory

②noise from airports

③noise caused by loud pop music

④a loud noise made in public

⑤noise produced by cars and machines

设计思路:让学生有目的地快速浏览文章,并通过做笔记掌握一些基本的信息。这一步是让学生掌握文章大意的一种阅读技巧。

Step 5: Listening and reading

Ask Ss listen to the tape and read the articles. After listening and reading, ask some Ss to report the main ideas of the passage.

设计思路:听和读是学生获取信息的有效途径,可以培养其快速阅读的能力。Step 6: Scanning

The teacher gives several questions about the text and asks Ss to find out the answers quickly by scanning. T: Read the text again and try to answer the questions below

T: Read the passage again, and look at the four sentences in 1c. Which paragraphs should they belong to?

设计思路:要求学生根据老师的问题进行跳跃式的阅读,在最短的时间找出问题的答案,让学生对课文有个大概的理解。

Step 7:Intensive reading

1) Ask them to read the text as quickly as they can and find out the useful phrases and expressions. Let the students work in groups and find out the difficult points.

2) Read 1a again and finish 1b.

设计思路:让学生分段仔细阅读文章,在前面的阅读的基础上,掌握重点句型和语法,以便加深学生对课文的理解。

Step 8: Discussion

Show them some pictures about all kinds of pollution. The last picture is the one that the earth is crying. Ask the students why the earth is crying. Lead them to be a guard to protect our planet. Ask them to discuss in groups.

T: Work in groups, think about what kinds of pollution we have in our hometown and discuss the bad effects caused by them.

1)What kinds of pollution are there around you?

2)What are their bad effects?

3)What should you do?

4)What`s your hope ?

Then report their results to the class.

设计思路:让学生通过小组讨论,互相帮助,然后陈述自己的观点,对学生养成独立思考和探究合作学习的习惯有很大的帮助。

Step 9: Writing

Basing on the discussion of the last step, write a letter to the newspaper about pollution problems.

设计思路:学以致用,既检验学生的学习成果,也让学生对英语学习产生极大的兴趣。同时也训练了学生的英语综合能力。

Step 10: Summary

T: What have you learned from this class? What should you do?

设计思路:通过小结,再次强调重难点,加深学生的记忆。

Step 11: Homework:

Write a letter to an editor according to the report.

Teaching reflection:

本设计的亮点:以多种教学手段开展教学活动,以培养学生阅读技巧为中心。以学生为主体,教师为指导,由浅入深,通过“快速浏览,提炼大意,细节捕捉,合作探究和交流应用”,全面培养学生听、说、读、写四方面的能力,尤其是阅读能力,教学效果令人满意。

本设计的不足:在讲解语言知识点的过程中,应该让学生在课本中找到语言点的相应位置,从而能够进一步熟悉课文内容,复习时更容易。由于学生个体的差异,学习基础的不同,还需要老师的耐心启发和辅导。
