下周我校将举办科技节的英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1Our School's Awesome Science and Tech Fair Next WeekHey everyone! I'm super excited to tell you all about the epic Science and Technology Fair happening at our school next week. This is going to be such a cool event showcasing all the amazing innovations and projects our student scientists and engineers have been working on. I can't wait!First off, let me give you a little background on what this fair is all about. Basically, it's a huge exhibition where students from all grade levels get to present their latest science projects, inventions, experiments, and tech creations. The whole thing is going to take over the gym, cafeteria, and several classrooms for three full days from Thursday to Saturday. How awesome is that? There's going to be such an incredible variety of exhibits on display covering every area of science and technology you can imagine – biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering, environmental sciences, and so much more. I've heard some crazy cool rumors about a few of the projects thatwill be featured, like a robot that can solve a Rubik's cube in under 10 seconds, a 3D printed prosthetic arm, and even a portable device that can generate electricity from solar and wind power! But that's just a tiny preview. There are going to be literally hundreds of exhibits set up by students from kindergarten all the way up to the senior class. The little kids always have the most adorable projects, like homemade erupting volcanoes or models of the planets. And the high schoolers' stuff is just mind-blowing with how advanced and innovative it is.One of the best parts is getting to interact with all the exhibits. You don't just passively walk by and look at posters. The students who created each project will be there to guide you through it, explain their process and findings, let you get hands-on experience with their inventions, and answer any questions. It's like having private science lessons from insanely smart kids our age. So cool! There's also going to be a bunch of fun activities and shows happening around the fair all three days. Friday night, for example, the school's rocketry club is launching somehigh-powered model rockets on the football field after sunset. I've seen videos of their launches before and the rockets go soincredibly high into the sky trailing bright vapor streams. It's an amazing sight!Another highlight will be the science-themed games, challenges and competitions spread throughout the venue. You can try building the tallest standing tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows, see who can power a hand-crank generator to charge up a phone battery the fastest, or race tiny CO2 powered cars. There are tons of fun ways to get hands-on with science. My personal favorite event, though, is always the science comedy show. A few high school students have developed an outrageously hilarious routine filled with wacky science stunts and cringe-worthy science puns. Trust me, it's so stupid and lame that it circles back around to being pure genius-level comedy. I've seen their act before and I laughed so hard my stomach hurt for days. You've gotta check it out!Aside from all the awesome exhibits and activities, one of the main reasons I look forward to our Science Fair every year is the guest speakers and presenters. We always get some truly world-class scientists, engineers, inventors and tech leaders to come share their stories and expertise. Hearing these icons in their fields talk so passionately about their work is endlessly inspiring. This year, I'm really stoked that we managed to book Dr. Jane Viz바퀴, one of the foremost experts on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Her research on neural networks and deep learning algorithms is revolutionizing how we approach AI. I can't even comprehend that level of genius! I'm sure her presentation on the future of AI will be fascinating. We've also got Cory Lovegreen coming to give a talk on green technology solutions for reversing climate change. He's the founder of that company making affordable renewable energy products for the developing world. It's going to be really interesting learning about his mission to make clean energy accessible globally. And get this – the fair's keynote speaker is going to be Natalie Rilliaunt, the 22-year-old prodigy who became one of the youngest people ever to earn a Ph.D. in astrophysics from MIT. She's going to take us on an immersive tour through the cosmos and latest mind-bending discoveries in cosmology, dark matter, black holes and more. I'm pretty sure my brain is going to melt from having too much astonishing science beamed directly into it!Of course, no science fair would be complete without an epic battle of the student science clubs and academic teams. Ours willbe squaring off against rivals from schools across the district in head-to-head engineering competitions, chemistry lab challenges, computer coding sprints, and the always hilarious Science Bowl quiz show. We've been trash talking the other schools for weeks now. No mercy will be shown!Oh man, I've barely even scratched the surface of everything going on at our Science and Tech Fair next week. There's also going to be a room for hands-on science demos and experiments for little kids, panels on različiti science careers, a showcase of award-winning student research projects, tours of our brand new computer lab and maker space...I could go on and on.Basically, if you love science, technology, engineering, innovation – heck, if you have even the slightest amount of curiosity about how our amazing universe works – then this fair is going to blow your mind! It's such an awesome opportunity to explore pretty much every area of STEM with tons of interactive, hands-on exhibits and activities.Plus, you'll get to meet so many incredible people who are just as passionate about science as you. Making connections with brilliant scientists, inventors, makers, and peers who shareyour interests is honestly what makes these fairs so special to me.I really hope you'll all come out and experience this celebration of science and tech awesomeness for yourselves next week. It's going to be truly out-of-this-world! Let me know if you have any other questions. See you at the fair!篇2Next Week's School Science and Technology FairIt's that time of year again - the one week every student at Park Ridge Middle School looks forward to with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. Next week is our annual Science and Technology Fair, a beloved tradition that has been going strong for over two decades. As an 8th grader, this will be my last chance to participate before moving on to high school, and I can't wait! The Science Fair has always been a big deal in our community. Teachers start talking it up and providing project guidelines months in advance. Students scramble to come up with clever and creative ideas to investigate. The hallways buzz with debate over whose experiment will take home the covetedgrand prize ribbon. It's an electrifying atmosphere of scientific curiosity and youthful ambition. For those who may be unfamiliar, our Science Fair isn't just about building a simple volcano model or growing some beans in a cup, though those classics still make appearances. No, we're talking next-level research happening here. Kids spend weeks, even months, meticulously designing brilliant experimental setups to test their hypotheses. The projects span an incredibly diverse array of fields - chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, computer science, you name it.Some of my friends have truly blown me away with the incredible projects they've put together over the years. Last year, Emily created a machine learning algorithm to identify different bird species from just their calls. Talk about innovative! Aidan built a mind-bogglingly complex Rube Goldberg machine that occupied nearly a quarter of the gymnasium. And who could forget Jasmine's environmental science project where she genetically modified a strain of algae to produce biofuel? That girl is going places. As for me, I've always gravitated more towards the world of coding and robotics. A few years back, I programmed a interactive digital art installation that responded to user inputswith evolving geometric patterns and colors. While a simple premise, I was so proud of that project and all the work I put into learning the coding languages. This year, however, I've really outdone myself if I do say so humbly. I created a fully functional robot that can sense obstacles in a room and generate an interior map of the space. It combines elements of computer vision, pathfinding algorithms, and mechatronics into one mind-bending system. I've been tinkering away at it every evening and weekend for months on end. My parents have had to tear me away from the garage workbench on more than one occasion for family dinners!Of course, the Fair isn't just about showcasing our own work. Some of the most valuable experiences come from wandering around the gym, stopping at each booth to learn about what your peers have been exploring. I always make sure to go through with a notebook, jotting down details about projects that intrigue me so I can investigate those topics further in my own time. One year, I became utterly fascinated by the concept of biomimicry after seeing a group analyze the water collection capabilities of different plant leaf structures. That project sparked my ongoing interest in using nature's designs to inspire technological solutions.Speaking of solutions, our Science Fair has a way of surfacing projects that tackle legitimate real-world problems in novel ways.I remember being so inspired seeing Nia create an amazingly slick mobile app two years ago to help people find their closest food pantries and other resource centers. It went on to be implemented by several local non-profits. How powerful is that - using your scientific know-how as a 12-year-old to make a tangible positive impact? That's really what this event is all about in my mind: flexing our intellectual muscles in creative ways while getting the opportunity to shine as young innovators. We may be mere middle schoolers, but our ideas carry immense potential and importance. In fact, the Science Fair judges aren't just teachers - they're actual professionals from local universities, research labs, engineering firms, and technology companies. Having my robot scrutinized and praised by real experts in relevant fields would be the ultimate validation of all my hard work. Or if I'm really lucky, maybe they'll want to recruit me as an intern! A student can dream, right?Aside from the judges, the Fair always draws a huge crowd of spectators from around the community. Parents, relatives, neighbors, and other local residents flock to the school to marvel at our latest endeavors. I'll never forget the look of wonder on my grandparents' faces a few years ago as I illustrated my project on constructing basic circuits to build a lie detector. They were totally entranced, asking me question after question about electricity and conductivity, seeming to learn just as much as I had through the process. While most of the attendees are there to shower us with praise and admiration, some have more critical perspectives to offer. I'll never forget the time a particularly crusty old scientist tore into my friend Greg's experiment on water filtration methods. Greg was crestfallen until a rep from a major plumbing company turned around and said she was blown away by his thoroughness, offering him a summer internship on the spot! You never know who might be scrutinizing us.Of course, the real spotlight falls on those students taking home the coveted ribbons and prizes at the end of the Fair. Tensions always run insanely high during the awards ceremony. When they call your name to come accept that first place ribbon, it's one of the most electrifying thrills. Sure, the 200 cash prize is great and all, but it's really about the glory and validation for months of hard work. I've had friends get scouted and recruitedby prestigious universities and elite summer programs on the strength of their performances.Whether I end up winning a prize or not, I'm just grateful for the opportunity to participate one last time. This Science Fair has been an anchor throughout my middle school years - a driving force that pushed me to explore my passion for science and technology further than I ever could have imagined. If I've learned anything, it's that I'm hopelessly, delightfully addicted to the thrill of asking questions, formulating hypotheses, and using my creativity to uncover new insights. The skills I've honed here will stick with me for life.As I prepare to pack up my exhibit and head to the gymnasium bright and early next Friday morning, I can't help but feel a bittersweet sense of nostalgia. In a way, it will be like sending off one of my children into the world, years of nurturing culminating in that final public unveiling. But I also can't wait to see what other wonders my peers have in store. Maybe I'll even get some inspiration to carry into high school. One thing's for certain: next week's Science and Technology Fair is going to be one for the ages. An electrifying celebration of youthful scientific potential. A glimpse at the brilliant minds that give me hope for the future of innovation. Most importantly,it will be a last hurrah for the sense of curiosity and creative thinking that Park Ridge Middle School has worked so hard to instill in us. Bring it on!篇3Next Week's Science and Tech Fair at Our SchoolHey there! I'm so pumped to tell you about the huge Science and Technology Fair happening at my school next week. It's going to be an absolute blast, and I can't wait to check out all the cool exhibits and activities they have planned. Our school has put on a Science Fair for years, but this is the first time they're expanding it into a full-blown Science and Tech Fair. I think it's a brilliant idea, especially with how quickly technology is advancing and becoming more integrated into basically every aspect of our lives these days. By combining science and tech into one giant exhibition, we'll get to explore the fascinating relationship and overlap between these two fields. From what I've heard, the fair is going to be spread out across the gymnasium, cafeteria, and several classroom wings. There's going to be a mind-boggling array of exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, competitions, guest speakers, andso much more lined up. I'm honestly not even sure where to start in terms of what I'm most excited about!I guess one thing I'm really stoked to see is the Student Project Showcase. Tons of kids from elementary school all the way up through high school seniors have been hard at work putting together awesome science fair projects and tech innovations. We're talking everything from basic experiments with the scientific method to crazy robotics displays and cutting-edge computer programs. I have some friends who have been tinkering away on their projects for months, so I can only imagine the insane levels of creativity and ingenuity we're going to witness.Another big highlight I'm hyped about is the Makerspace Zone, where there's going to be all sorts of high-tech equipment and materials laid out for us to tinker with and create our own gadgets. 3D printers, laser cutters, soldering irons, Arduino kits, old computer parts to take apart - that kind of stuff. I'm a total hands-on learner, so having the chance to actually build something from scratch using professional tools and supplies is going to be an incredible experience. Several "Maker Mentors" will be stationed around to provide guidance too. Maybe I'll even walk away having prototyped some kind of new invention!Of course, there's also going to be a ton of exhibition booths set up by local science museums, tech companies, colleges, and other STEM organizations. I can't wait to chat with the representatives, see their interactive displays, and get the inside scoop on potential internships or job opportunities down the road. My dream is to study electrical engineering in college, so getting a head start on making connections in that field is huge.In one area, they're going to have an epic Virtual Reality zone set up with all the latest VR headsets and gaming systems. I've triedVR a couple times before, but most of the setups I've experienced are pretty basic compared to what they're promising at this fair. Apparently there will be these crazy immersive VR environments where you can explore the inside of a human cell, walk on Mars, or travel through the bloodstream. That's exactly the kind of insane, cutting-edge stuff that makes VR so awesome for educational experiences. There's also going to be a section devoted entirely to eSports, which I'm low。

Let’s TalkJohn:2,4,6,8Anne:1,3,5,7VI. Furthering Listening and Speaking ListeningTask 1: The Origin of the InternetThe story of the Internet begins in the late 1950s. The Soviet Union launched Sputnik in 1957. The Pentagon set up a research team in 1958 to create a computer network to operate during disasterslike a nuclear war. The resulting network linked U.S. scientific and academic researchers. It grew into the World Wide Web or the Internet that became the network system of the Information Age. In1985, the National Science Foundation created anetwork which provided a free national service toany U.S. research and education institution. Later, large corporations began to build their ownnetworks. All those networks finally joined the Pentagon’s network to form the Internet. By the 1990s, anyone with a computer, a modern, and Internet software could link up to the Internet. In thefuture, the Internet will probably grow more complex and become part of a larger network called theinformation highway. With that people could bank, shop, watch TV, and perform many other activities online.Task2: The Internet—A Small TownThe Internet is a global network, but in many ways it’s like a small town with similar services to offer. There are electronic post offices to send and receive e-mail, functioning somewhat more efficiently than the Post Office we know. Thereare libraries of information that stay open 24 hours a day with millions of books and documents to browse or search through on the World Wide Web or WWW. You can also enjoy real-time text-based communication, using written or printed material to communicate with others immediately and almost “face to face”. Local coffee shops are seen in the guise of chat room, with people dropping by at all hours of the day and night to socialize. Online education and training is available just as it is in a “bricks and mortar” university or school. Online banking offers you all the services available at your local bank, without fearing to be mugged at an ATM. You can buy almost anything, listen to your local radio station or do your grocery shopping. Indeed, the Internet is your town in a box!Task3: If only life could be like a computer! To get your daily exercise, just click on “run”!If you need a break from life, click on “suspend”. Hit “any key” to co ntinue life when ready. To “add/remove” someone in your life, click settings. To improve your appearance, just adjust the display settings. When you lose your car keys, click on “find”. You could click on “send” and the kids would go to bed immediately. To feel like a person, click on “refresh”.Click on “close” to shut up the noises. To undo a mistake, click on “back”.Is your furniture getting old? Click “update”.If you messed up your life, you could press “Alt, Ctrl, Delete” and start all over!Speaking1. F2. T3.T4.F5.TUnit10II. But for Africa, it was the mo st influential “first” of all—the first time a teacher there was awarded the Global Teacher Prize.“I feel great,” Tabichi said after accepting the Prize. The Prize, awarded by the Varkey Foundation, honors an outstanding teacher every year, and includes a $1 million prize. You might already be able to guess how he plans to spend that prize. This is, after all, a man who chose to teach kids at a poorly-equipped, underfunded school in a remote Kenyan village and give 80 percent of his salary to the poor. Bro ther Peter, as he’s called, surprised no one by announcing that he planned to use the million dollars from his win to improve the school and offer food to the poor. The local community where food shortage is a major source of conflict could also benefit from that awarded money.Tabichi teaches high schoolers science at a remote part of Kenya’s Rift Valley. Despite having one computer, a poor Internet connection and a student-teacher ratio of 58:1, Tabichi started a “talent nurturing club” and expanded the school’s science club. He helped students design’ research projects of high quality so that many now qualify for national competitions. His students have taken part in international science competitions and won an award from the Royal Society of Chemistry after using local plant life to produce electricity. Tabichi also gives struggling students one-to-one coaching in science, visiting students’ homes and meeting their families to identify the challenges they face.Accepting the prize, Tabichi said: “This pr ize gives my students a chance. It tells the world that they can do anything. Africa will produce scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs whose names will be one day famous in every corner of the world.”19. What can we learn about the Global Teacher Prize?A.It is presented annually. B.It offers a prize of $1 billion.C.It is given to African teachers. D.It influences people worldwide.20. What did Tabichi plan to do with the prize money?A.To set up a charity and help the community.B.To build a school and pay students’ fees.C.To have a trip and visit many scenic spots.D.To better school facilities and feed the poor.21. What is paragraph 4 mainly about?A.Tabichi’s determination to face the challenges.B.Tabichi’s efforts to equip students with sc ience.C.Tabichi’s troubles in operating the science clubsD.Tabichi’s passion for teaching gifted students science22. Which of the following can best describe Tabichi?A.Professional and humorous. B.Talented and selfless.C.Knowledgeable and sensitive. D.Generous and ambitious.I ask every student I interview for admission to my institution, Pitzer College, the same question, “What do you look forward to the most in college?” I was astonished and delighted recently when a student replied, “I look forward to the possibility of failure.” Of course, this is not how most students respond to the question when sitting before the person who can make decisions about their academic futures, but this young man took a risk.“You see, my parents have never let me fail,” he said. “When I want to take a chance at something, they remind me it’s not a safe route to take. Taking a more demanding course or trying an activity I may not succeed in, they tell me, will ruin my chances at college admission.”I wish I could tell you this is an uncommon story, but kids all over the world admit they are under great pressure to be perfect. When I was traveling in China last fall and asked a Chinese student what she did for fun, she replied: “I thought I wasn’t supposed to tell you that? I wouldn’t want you to think I am not serious about my work!”Students are usually in shock when I laugh and tell them I never expect perfection. Of course, this goes against everything they’ve been told. How could a dean (院长) of admission at one ofAmerica’s most selective institutions not want the best and the brightest? The reality is, perfection doesn’t exist, and we don’t expect to see it in a college application. In fact, admission officers tend to question students who present themselves as individuals without shortcomings. We get the most excited when we read an application that seems real. It’s so rare to hear stories of defeat. If their perspectives are of lessons learned, these applicants tend to jump to the top at highly selective colleges. We believe an error in high school should not define the rest of your life, but how you respond could shape you forever.23. What can we learn about the student in the first two paragraphs?A.He is taught not to take risks.B.He tries to avoid any chance of failure.C.He cares little about his academic futuresD.He is seldom allowed to take part in activities.24. Why does the author mention the Chinese student in paragraph 3?A.To emphasize the importance of hard work.B.To compare students from different countries.C.To give an example of the students he favors.D.To illustrate the widespread stress on students25. What is probably admission officers’ attitude towards a perfect application?A.Doubtful. B.Confused. C.Favorable. D.Casual.26. What is the key to success in college according to the author?A.A desire for perfectionB.The ability to learn from defeats.C.The opportunity of making mistakes.D.An experience of defeat in high schoolThe public nowadays has a misunderstanding of forest fires, believing that fires should be kept out of every type of forest. Many of us can recall Smoky the Bear’s famous warning: “Remember, only YOU can prevent forest fires”. However, that’s not always the case. Under the right co nditions, and when conducted safely, fire can create many environmental benefits as well as help prevent larger, uncontrollable wildfires. After a forest fire, many wildlife species will move into recently burned areas to feed on these newly available foods. Some reptiles and amphibians such as the pine snake prefer forests frequently burned by fire. As Herbert Stoddard put it, “One of the most harmful things modern man has done to birds has been his attempt to exclude fire from fire-type pine (松树) forests. Within a few years mostforests choke up with bushes, lose their prairie-like vegetation (草原般植被) and can no longer support birds dependent on periodic burning for their food supply and proper cover.”If you are asked to picture the forest floor, what do you see? Pine needles, cones, leaves, branches might come to mind — all sources of fuel. If these fuel sources build up without any type of removal, the ‘fuel load’ can lead to fires catastrophic to forests and people alike. In contrast, prescribed fire can be used by forest professionals every couple of years to keep forest fuels at an appropriate and manageable level. They can also minimize the spread of pest insects and disease and remove unwanted tree and plant species. Plus, they can create and maintain important wildlife habitats rich in grasses and promote the growth of trees, wildflowers and other various plants. Many organizations and agencies work to promote fire on the landscape when and where appropriate. Smoky Bear even has an updated warning: “Only You can Prevent Wildfires,” as the Forest Service has over the last few decades developed policies and procedures to include prescribed fire as a management tool, as well as continuing their work to prevent and fight wildfires.27. What can benefit birds according to Herbert Stoddard?A.Forest bushes. B.Fuel sources. C.Periodic burning. D.Pine forests.28. What does the underlined word “prescribed” in paragraph 3 probably mean?A.preventable B.planned C.wild D.damaging29. What is the purpose of prescribed fire?A.To keep the forest in balance. B.To keep the fuel rich in the forest.C.To put out wildfires. D.To remove tree and plant species.30. What might be the best title for the passage?A.Never Keep The Forest Fire Burning B.Not All Forest Fires Are Created Equal C.Where There Is Smoke There Is A Fire D.One Match Can Start A Forest FireYou may feel like you have a lot of casual friends or acquaintances (熟人) but no one is close. You’re not alone. Not having any close friends is surprisingly common, especially in your youth. 31You might feel nervous meeting new people. It’s totally natu ral for lots of us to feel that way. 32 So try to focus on the other person instead of yourself. The more you practice meeting new people and forming connections, the easier it will get.You may push people away instead of getting close to them. 33 If you have a few friends but you wouldn’t necessarily consider them close ones, you might be holding yourself back a bit. There are lots of reasons why you might be doing this, either on purpose or subconsciously, so try to give yourself permission to let people see the real you.You might not make enough time for them. 34 They can disappear if you accidentally forget about them. Everyone’s busy, so don’t worry too much if you forget for a week or two, but try your best to talk to your friends often. Even i f you can’t hang out with them in person all the time, just sending them a text or calling them can be enough to keep up that relationship.35 When you make plans, stick to them, and let your friends trust you. Close friendships happen when people can have faith in each other, so you want to be the best friend that you can be. Do your best to stick to your words, and keep up with the plans that you make with your pals. Over time, you’ll grow closer because they know they can trust you.Chris Raven, a former IT professional, found a new career after retirement.
