The first visit to a foreign country that I can remember was when I was about seven years old. We lived about 5 miles away from the Canadian border(边界). My family and I went to Parc Safari, Quebec, a wonderful place that has animals and rides. We drove down a nice long road. My sister and I sat in the back of the car, and it was a hatchback(有仓门式后背的汽车) so we opened it up. I remember feeding the animals snacks we had bought for ourselves. When we arrived, there were not monkeys because they had escaped and had not been found. I remember thinking to myself, how cool it would be to see a monkey in our backyard.Even though the monkeys were not there it was still so much fun. When we reached the area that had camels, giraffes and other animals, I remember one of the camels reached into the car to get our snacks. However, we were a little gross out because the camels seemed to froth(吐白沫) at the mouth and we had camel slobber(口水) all over the car and us.It was one of the best family vacations that I can remember. It was not too far from home, it was in a different country and it was with my family. I cannot remember if we went on the rides or not but seeing many animals was a great time. Now I am grown up and have a son, and I am planning to go there again. He is 7 years old and I think he is at a great age to enjoy a trip like this. I am sure it has changed a lot over the years but it will still be a great family trip.1. Where did the author live when he was 7 years old?A. In CanadaB. In the central USC. Or they may be sitting in a car outside it, causally tapping away at a laptop. They look like innocent passers-by. In fact, they are stealing your corporate secrets.Drive-by hacking is the trendy term given to the practice of breaking into wireless computer networks from outside the buildings that house them. A recent study in the UK, sponsored by RSA Data Security, found that two-thirds of organizations with wireless networks were risking their data in this way. Security experts patrolled (巡逻) several streets in the City of London seeking evidence of wireless networks in operation.Of 124 that they identified, 83 were sending data without encrypting(加密)them. Such data could readily be picked up by a passer-by armed only with a portable computer, a wireless modem and a few pieces of software that can be freely down-loaded from the Internet. The data could include sensitive company documents containing valuable information. Or they could be e-mail identities and passwords that could be used by hackers to log into corporate networks as if they were legal users. Most companies using wireless networking technology do not take even the simplest of precautions to protect their data. Nearly all wireless network technology comes with some basic security features that need only to be activated in order to give a minimum level of security, for example, by encrypting the data being passed over the network.Raymon Kruck, business development manager at Check Point Software, a security technology specialist, believes this could be partly a psychological problem. People see the solid walls of their building as safeguards and forget that wireless networks can extend up to 200 meters beyond physical walls.Companies without any security at all on their wireless networks make it ridiculously easy for hackers to break in. Switching on the security that comes with the network technology should be automatic. Then there are other basic steps a company can take, says Mr. Kruck, such as changing the passwords on the network from the default (默认) setting.Companies can also install firewalls, which form a barrier between the internal network and the public Internet. They should also check their computer records regularly to spot any abnormal。

If a teenager had some problems in her life years ago,she might go home and write them in her diary。

Now, a teenager with the 21 problems might go onto the Internet and write about them in a blog. In many ways, a diary and a blog are very 22 。

So, what makes blogging different from writing in a 23 diary? The biggest difference is that blogging is much more 24 than a diary。

Usually a teenager treats her diary like a book full of 25 that she doesn’t want to 26 。

It’s interesting that someone who writes in a blog 27 a diary will probably write nearly the same information。

Both diaries and blogs tell details about what happened to the 28 that day.I have a little sister, and sometimes I go online to read her 29 。

She writes about things like waking up early for swimming practice and not 30 enough for her chemistry test. When I was her 31 ,I wrote about the same things, but 32 in my diary。

I generally sleep poorly at night, but in the woods on a tour,I sleep like a baby, falling asleep with the music of insects。

In the morning, I am awakened by the cheeps of birds. I eat a snack before getting up, and then I quickly pack my sleeping bag,air mattress (垫),tent, and other things and get on with my road。

I’m slower in the morning, having less speed but a greater desire to stop at pleasant spots and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Traveling by bike allows me to stop anywhere, such as grasslands, lakes, woods, and scenic spots。

Near lunch, I find a small grocery and buy some bread, sandwiches and fruit。

Then I will find a town park or other shady spots to wait out the high mid-day sun. In the afternoon, my speeds are higher, and I spend less time on stops. In the late afternoon,I start riding more slowly, and I start thinking about where I will stop。

2016广西贺州市高考英语二轮:社会文化阅读理解精练(2)及答案

2016广西贺州市高考英语二轮:社会文化阅读理解精练(2)及答案社会文化(阅读理解)由(2011安徽,D)改编Ireland has had a very difficult history. The problems started in the 16th century when English rulers tried to conquer (征服)Ireland。

For hundreds of years, the Irish people fought against the English。

Finally,in 1921,the British government was forced to give independence to the south of Ireland。

The result is that today there are two “Irelands”.Northern Ireland,in the north,is part of the United Kingdom. The Republic of Ireland,in the south,is an independent country. In the 1840s the main crop, potatoes, was affected by disease and about 750,000 people died of hunger。

This, and a shortage (短缺)of work, forced many people to leave Ireland and live in the USA,the UK,Australia and Canada。

As a result of these problems, the population fell from 8.2 million in 1841 to 6。
